Yesterday was busy for me at work, so I didn't get a chance to check back in. I just got caught up on yesterday's thread.

I hope everyone that had a bad day yesterday has a better one today.

For those getting an u/s today, get in here quick and tell us how it went!

I am dragging today. I really hope a little pep of energy comes my way soon.

I'll try to get back in here later to see how everyone is doing.

Smile....one more day to TGIF and the holiday weekend!

Darlene- Did the Dr. do an U/S? Sometimes surrogates(or women in general) find that they miss periods and it ends up being fluid filled cysts in the uterus or ovaries. They are given the provera (such a joy) to bring on a period and all normally resumes in a few months. It's really pretty common. Look forward to a HEAVY period and be prepared in case it's uncomfortable. Good Luck!
No, no ultrasound. He just felt around.. alot. Ouchie.

What is your experience with Provera? After 3 months of build-up, I'm prepared for it to be heavy and not much fun, but at least it will be done! I've been feeling so bloated the past month, and I'm sure it's due to not shedding like I should.

good morning

Hi there everyone.

Well my luncheon was nice, but 2 people didn't come so it kind of bummed me out. My 4 closest friends were invited - and 2 didn't come or call to cancel, even though one of my other friends called and left messages to reconfirm with everyone a few days prior. I guess it's rude to not even call to cancel!!!!!!! But i will focus on the positive - the 2 friends that DID come.......

My husband is really getting on my nerves lately - am i alone????
He has bought every single thing for baby second hand. Crib set, clothes, everything. Are we poor? No..... Would i like a few things new - yes. Back in March he promised me a rocking chair i wanted for our anniversary. Well, he never ordered it. I reminded him gently a week ago about it. He said he would order it, and did.

Well, last night he comes home with the paper and sees an ad for a free rocker and calls and leaves a message before i got home. When i get home he tells me about it. The woman calls back a few minutes later and tell him it is peach, and the fabric "needs to be cleaned". Now keep in mind Aiden's nursery is blue and yellow. He asks me what I think. I tell him i think it is awful of him to try to retract the one thing he had gotten for me and replace it with something free. He said, oh well what if it had been nice. I said, you already bought me a nice rocker, why couldn't you just leave it alone and NOT call.

So now, the new rocker will be here anyday now and i don't even want it. He has ruined this for me now, in his quest for the almighty freebie.

Is it selfish of me to want one thing special???? One thing that isn't from a tag sale..........

Sorry for the rant, I just am upset that he can't understand why i am bothered by this.

Check in with you all later

Amy

Good Morning Mommies-

Jen-

Susie- I am sure you are having fun trying!!

Amy- I understand! I would be a little upset also. Men just don't get it at times!

GOOD LUCK SARAH!!!!!- Can't wait to hear!

Not much going on here. It is officaly I can't wear any of my normal clothes anymore. At least I made it to my 27th week before really breaking out the maternity clothes! It so weird this pregnancy since I didn't experience the morning sickness I haven't really starting feeling "PREGNANT" until this week (except for when he moves and says hi!). Unfortunatly I am starting to feel a little bit uncomfortable now.

BBL-
Kristen

Morning Guys,

I had a doc appointment yesterday and found out that he'll do another ultrasound at 37 weeks to determine how big she's getting. (although I've heard people say that they get the estimates wrong a lot!) Also, he starts doing internal exams that same week to see if there's any progress. He also told me that they'll test for Strep B at week 35 and that 1 in 5 women have it and will need antibiotic treatment for it during labor. I'll have to look this up...don't know much about it.

I'm so excited about this weekend...nothing special but we get out of work at 2:00 on Friday and get Monday off. I'm looking forward to resting.

Oh, one more thing. At our childbirth class we got to do a tour of labor and delivery. The LDR rooms are nicer and bigger than I thought but an hour after you deliver they move you to a regular hospital room.

Hi to everyone. I've gotta run...have a hearing with the tax board to oppose the (ridiculously high) appraisal they did on our house.

Happy (almost) weekend.

Good morning ladies...
Nothing much new here. Summer is chugging along. We've seen a lot of kid movies, gone to the pool, and otherwise just been lazy. Nice to have this time to rest and relax before baby.

Dar, I took provera a number of times. It's pretty nasty stuff. Expect emotional upheaval, likely your face will break out. Also, it takes 7-10 days for your TOM to show up. It might be really heavy, but most likely it'll be normal. At least that's my experience.

For everyone who was having such a bad day yesterday, . I hope today is better and has brighter skies.

trolly - i had strep b with both my pregnancies, it was no big deal, i just had to have an iv with antibiotics during delivery. it had something to do with the baby getting an infection during delivery. the antibiotics are for the baby, not the mother.

TROLLY: I also tested positive for Strep B, no big deal, just gave me some antibiotics through an IV while I was laboring and after delivery.

They also told me (scared me) that I'd be having a *big baby*, estimated 9lbs., she only weighed 7lbs.8oz. and I was a week overdue. Sooooo, don't put a lot of stock in what they say.

KRISTEN: Lucky you making it to 27 weeks before needing maternity! Cassidy is almost 4 mos. old and I'm STILL wearing a couple pairs of my *beginner* maternity pants. *sigh* my body is just different now.

Where is MRS.SARAH??? *tap*tap*tap* How am I supposed to get any work done when all I can think about is HER???

I'll check back in a bit.

Hi everyone,

Holy moly, I can't believe it's July already!

Had a blood test on Tuesday and go the results back yesterday. HCG level was 12,320 - that's on track for 6 weeks. I have an u/s scheduled for July 12. Can't wait for that although I'm a bit nervous. No new symptoms to report really except even more gas and heartburn than before *sigh*.

Sarah: Good luck! Can't wait for the full report!

Amy: (((Hugs))) I think you are being totally reasonable!

Have a great day everyone.

Hi everybody... Happy Canada Day!!

I get four days off!!!!
Haven't posted for a while. DH dismantled the computer. Joys of being married to an engineer. Other husbands fix the house and do yard work. Mine installs hard-drives and adds RAM. Oh well. He has a job interview next week with a government observatory!! Same city, but a lot more travelling. To South America, no less. Sounds really neat.

Sorry everybody had a bad day. Mine was just busy. The day before a holiday always has increased traffic, and tourists. I don't mind though. Just glad it is a holiday.

I passed the diabetes screening with flying colours. Guess I just have a big uterus. I see the doctor next Tuesday, so maybe she'll have some insite on why I'm measuring large. Or maybe not. I've been feeling good, although I still tire easily. Baby is very active.. which I thouroughly enjoy.

Have a wonderful day everybody. Think about your nothern neighbours celebrating their independence!! I'm going to go catch up on last weeks posts.

bye,

Nicole

Hi everyone.

Nicole, I also measure bigger because they said (and ultrasound confirmed) that I have extra fibers in my uterus. Its nothing serious, so they said not to worry about it. My uterus was measuring 12 weeks at the time when I was really 8.

I was really surprised when two people said to me that I have started to show a little bit. I'm only 10 weeks. Last time, I didn't show until I was around 4 months. I'm not even 3 yet. Anyone else start showing earlier the 2nd tiem around?

Anyone heard from Angela?

Sarah........we're waiting.......

Hi everyone - been a busy last couple of days. Had Erin's bday party at my parents with family on Tuesday, then my mom and I took my nephew and girls to the amusement park yesterday. I must say I am a little tired today LOL. I had a dr appt this morning. My bp has dropped SIGNIFICANTLY to 140/66.... you would think I would be happy over this - nope, just confused and a little concerned. A few nights ago my bp was reading 150/92 so WHY the drastic decrease? Anyway - did the Group B test (oh what fun LOL) and everything is looking good.

Boy I hope everyone is having a better day than yesterday!!!

Hi Jen - Glad to hear you are feeling up to adding back in your karate.

Dar- I also had to take provera SEVERAL times while ttc my first (along with the clomid). Like Ellen I suffered greatly in the emotional health dept while taking the provera and with the added clomid I am admitting I was the worst kind of basket case. I thought I was going nuts, dh thought I was going nuts. It was like PMS magnified by 20.... but at least it did jumpstart my periods and slough off the tissue that built up in my uterus. Hopefully the combo of the 2 is the trick you need. The clomid did not work for me which made going through the whole ordeal a little disheartening.... but being PCOS we found a treatment of glucophage and strict induction level carbs worked.

Susie: No news is ALWAYS good news!!! Have a great holiday weekend!!

Amy: I don't think you are unreasonable concerning the rocker! And the irritability with the dh is VERY normal. I can always tell when my hormones are getting an overdose during this pregnancy b/c Mike always gets the brunt of it.... rationality sortof flies out the window. I must say he is learning to handle my moods very well though Hope you get everything worked out and you feel better once the rocker comes in.

Kristen: just in maternity at 27wks and this is your second!!! WOW! That is wonderful!!!

trolly: I have heard the measurements can be off in the u/s's as well... especially without a previous pregnancy to go by. They are guessing Michael to be 8.5-9.5 lbs at delivery, depending on if he is early or not, but they also go with how I was measuring during my previous pregnancies as well. Your L&D is like ours... big labor/birthing suites and then you are moved to a regular room.

Hi Ellen!

Gigl: Happy to hear the pregnancy is STICKING!!!!

SARAH - I am waiting impatiently too!!! Thought you would have posted before I got back!!!

I'm here!! I'm here!!!

They are 75% sure!! She couldn't get a super clear shot because of the cord being between it's legs, plus it's legs were together. That baby was darn shy!! LOL!! We did however catch a couple of shots and she was pretty sure she saw a penis and scrotum. I was pretty sure I saw them too, and so did DH and parents. She said she didn't see anything that would indicate a girl. She said everything looked really good anatomy/bone wise.

I'll scan pics and show you as soon as I can!!

I'M SO EXCITED!!!

Nicole: Have a wonderful 4 days off!! I always measure larger b/c of larger babies.

Viki: Think we were posting at the same time LOL I didn't show until my 7th month with my first - 2nd I started "showing" at 4mths, and this one I blew up almost immediately - I was in maternity at 13wks but not really "showing" it was just more comfy.

Oh, Sarah! Where are you??? We can't wait to hear!

Amy: I can relate! I fear my DH will be exactly like that. He said, "Well, you know we'll get everything used, right?". I was so mad. Money is not a problem for us either, he just loves bargain hunting. The worst part? When I get mad about it he says it's just hormonal! I would be p*ssed no matter what when he subjects me to his cheap streak.

I tried sea bands yesterday for m/s, and it kind of worked, but I have already thrown up twice today with them on. My doc gave me a prescription for vitamin B6/Unisom combo, but I'm afraid to take ANYTHING. Has anyone taken this stuff? I have been really tired as it is (especially since I completely cut out caffeine cold turkey last weekend; I can't even get Diet Coke to stay down) so I'm not thrilled about taking a sleep aid on top of it. I know so many women get m/s. I feel like such a wimp.

Hi Everyone else!

Kelley
