Good Morning Ladies,

Sarah, isn't there some way to have a mattress cleaned? Dry cleaned? Or wash it with clorox and let it dry outside? Our Pack N Play portable needs a good cleaning, now that you mentioned it.

Yesterday I walked with 2 lb hand weights and my hands didn't swell. I kind of figured the swelling was from increased circulation but not using those muscles. My feet never swell when I exercise, according to my books walking is good for preventing swelling in the feet because it increases circulation. I guess the secret is to increase circulation AND use the muscles. Usually, I just let my hands dangle. Today my biceps are a little bit sore so I guess I need the upper body work out. I'm going to see my midwife later today and I can ask her about it.

Welcome again to our new mommy to be, Sapphires2000!

I'll be back after I go sweat for a while.

Saludos,

Suzanne

Hello Ladies,

How are you guys doing? Jack is getting so big...I have a new picture of my family here.

http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/...8591&members=1

I still weigh the same - a few lbs over my prepreg weight and would like to lose 10 more but I don't see that happening until I quit nursing probably. How can I lose weight with these huge boobs, I mean they are just humungous. They must weigh 2 lbs all by themselves.

Anyway, I read this about breast milk and thought I'd pass it on. Breastfeeding not only reduces risk of breast cancer in the mother but breast milk itself also shrinks cancer cells and gets rid of warts!!! That is so amazing.

Good Morning!

Tigerlily, those pics are precious!

Hola Suzanne! Good for you for getting out to exercise. I felt so bad yesterday, I forced myself to walk and felt weak and clammy the whole time.

I had to read the weekend thread to catch up. It was kind of slow, where is everyone?

I went to a wedding this weekend and had one mouthful of Champagne for the wedding toast. It tasted so bad to me I had to spit it out. Even water tastes "off" to me now. My M/S was all-encompassing yesterday. I was lethargic and dizzy. I had THE WORST heartburn! I didn't even take a Tums until I can call my doc today to see if it's okay. I did and online search and got so much conflicting information, it spooked me. I did read a study about how M/S affects the inner ear and equilibrium, and how personal audio devices are supposed to work well. Time to break out the Walkman? This is the first day I didn't throw up right away. Am I happy? No, of course I worry about lessening symptoms.

BBL!

Kelley

Morning ladies!! I finally got a firmer pillow to sleep with last night. Boy, did that make a difference!! I have been having neck/shoulder issues since I've started sleeping on my sides. I think a lot of it was due to the fact that my down pillows were to flimsy. I feel much better today!!

Suzanne: I thought about that. The mattress that I have is covered in vinyl stuff, so I should be able to clorox it, I would think. I'm going to ask my doctor what his opinion when I go in on Thursday.

Tigerlily: Great pics!!! Jack is getting so big!!

Kelley: LOL! You sound like every other preggo lady. We hate the symptoms, but if they go away we get freaked. Welcome to the land of preggo insanity! Also, my doctor recommended that I take Tums daily for calcium. They are totally safe!

Hi guys-

I am really in my Third trimester? WOW!!!!
I had a busy weekend as normal, but the weather was really nice and we had a good time. Tomorrow I am taking a day off and going to an amusement park about an hour away from Pittsburgh. It is really kid friendly. I can't wait.

Sarah- Glad you got a good pillow.

Tiger- Jack is getting so BIG!! Adorable.

Go Ahead and take Tums! When I asked my doc if I could, she told me that it was almost a mandatory requirement . I hope you feel better soon. Welcome to the world of weird tastes and smells. During my first trimester, I could smell things I never could detect before (the sulfur in broccoli) and really hated some smells that I had loved before (freshly brewed coffee). Things are slowly starting to return to normal. I haven't had a cup of coffee yet, but it is starting to look good to me again.

Good morning to everyone else.

We went bargain shopping this weekend, but didn't come up with anything. I really want to buy some baby clothes, but I have another week and a half before the (hopefully) tell all u/s.

I did find a dresser at the Salvation Army that was in excellent condition and just the perfect height for me to use as a changing table. It was very similar to the ones you see at Babies R Us with 3 drawers and are waist high. Our Salvation Army sells very nice furniture at rock bottom prices. It was priced at $250. I thought it was a little high on the price, until I saw the prices at Babies R Us, $450 - $550. It was exactly waist high for me. I know I wouldn't get any back strain at all. It might be my first baby furniture purchase. Great thing is that it doesn't look like a changing table and will be a great dresser for years to come.

Hello all!
I've been super busy. We got the baby's room done. It's so cute! I'll post pics if I ever take any..............

So, I'm looking at the list wondering where I had missed a week. I am only 32 weeks. I would love to be 33 weeks (would make me so much closer to having my baby )

Hi Ladies!

Hot here today, should be about 108. Can't wait for monsoon season. Can't seem to come soon enough this year.

Painted the kitchen and most of the master bathroom this weekend. Next weekend: Tiling! We seem to be on schedule to have the house ready to sell by end of July. Will be glad when it is over and we are in a new house. Then I can start on a nursery.

Starting to feel fat. Clothes still fit but are getting snug and I know it's not caused by the baby but by my raging appetite. I can't seem to get enough dairy of any kind except milk. Ever since I stopped drinking it a year ago, I can't bring myself to re-start. But I am going nuts with cottage cheese, all other cheeses, yogurt and ice cream! I also take calcium pills, so I don't know if this craving is physical or psychological. Any suggestions?

See you all later, hope everything is going well.

Hi Ladies,
Glad to hear everyone is doing well.

We had a nice mellow weekend. Did stop by a local baby furniture shop that is planning a big end-of-summer sale. We scoped out some possible bargains and starting talking about decorating schemes and all the *stuff* we're gonna need. I'm quite proud of my husband... he's French and a bit of a minimalist and not really inclined to think we need a lot of "stuff" - but he's coming around. (Either that or he dares not contradict me!)

Still feeling pretty good. I head back to the doctor tomorrow for another for my next blood test.

Have a great day all!

I think the baby is going through a growth spurt because I am constantly hungry. Shandril, don't feel bad girl, looks like us 10 weekers are feeling the same.

How is Angela!

Hi Ladies,

Tigerlily, Jack is so big! What color are his eyes? Or can you tell yet?

Stacy, looks like you have a pretty happy baby. I can't believe how fast she and Jack are growing up.

Kristen, welcome to the 3rd trimester! We've got a big group in the 3rd now.

Kelley, sorry you still don't feel well. I couldn't survive pregnancy without TUMS. By the ninth month of my last pregnancy I was eating 3 times the daily maximum dosage so I just quit taking calcium suppliments.

Ellen, have fun at the pool. I am going to go jump in the ocean in a little bit.

Shandril, I can't believe how busy you are! Good luck selling and finding your next dream home.

Hi Miss Gigl! Glad you are feeling well.

Hi Pauline! Whoever starts the thread tomorrow can drop you back to 32 weeks. Is your date right in the middle of the week? My due date is on a Thurs so I am always 5 days ahead of the Monday morning stats.

Sarah, all I can think about now is that I need to wash the port a crib with clorox. But I am just feeling too lazy now....I am sure it will get done before the baby is born.

I had a nice visit with my midwife. I knew when I first signed up with her that she would be gone part of July and Aug. She's due back 2 weeks before my due date so we went over my Plan B, what we'll do if the baby comes before 38 weeks. I like the midwife so much that I will be really upset if I am early and have to use the doctor. My check up was fine, baby is fine, weight gain is fine......DH took a belly photo this morning and I'll post it as soon as I get it off his computer. For those of you doubters, it is pretty obvious that I am pregnant now.

Hi Viki!

Hi everyone!

Suzanne: Did the mw say anything about the hand swelling?

Tiger: Hi! Great to "see" you! Jack is getting to be such a BIG boy. I can't wait to try and figure the whole boy thing out - the excitement has set in.... I am ready for the adventure

Kelley: This is the 1st pregnancy I have had heartburn (luckily only a few times). My dr said TUMS, unfortunately I usually pop 4 at a time BUT I don't have to take them again. I had a metallic kindof taste with some drinks (water, flavored water) in the beginning too. YUCK... That has become better with time - just wish the gag reflex while brushing my teeth would go away LOL

Sarah: I would wipe the mattress down with clorox. Also you might want to keep on-hand the lysol wipes (and clorox). I love them in the nursery to just wipe things down. I also keep some in the car for the grocery carts etc.... YES I am a germ freak LOL.

Kristen: WELCOME to the 3RD!!!!! My mom is taking Erin and my nephew to a Six Flags amusement park here that is just geared for kids 12 and under (American Adventures). They are going later this week - I am contemplating going with them. I think its time to get things started over-here I just wish I could ride the rides!!!

Jen: Great find at the Salvation Army. I bought an antique dressing table at ours a long time ago. They really clean-up and finish off their donated furniture nicely!! I love finding great bargains

Pauline: Can't wait to see the nursery!

Ellen: Yuck Bills! Have fun at the pool!

Shandril: I had a HUGE craving for milk early on with this pregnancy. I don't even like milk. Someone suggested that I substitute in high calcium foods (like you are doing). I added in a spinach salad at least once a day, lots of brocolli (raw & cooked) and cottage cheese. It either helped after awhile or my cravings changed LOL. I still crave the spinach salads though.

Miss Gigl: It is always so much fun scoping out the baby stuff with your first. I remember as soon as I found out I was pregnant the 1st time I just HAD to buy something, so dh and I picked out a gender neutral little stuffed elephant. It helped that "urge" for a few weeks at least LOL

Stacy: OH MY Cassidy is such a doll baby!!! I love the jumper, looks much safer than the doorway one I have - I might need to check that out.

Viki: HI! I am here... putting the finishing touch-ups on the nursery - almost done (thank goodness). How are you doing?

Katie - WHERE are YOU????

Still busy as a bee here. Erin will be 4yrs old tomorrow... sniff... We are meeting family at a restaurant for dinner tomorrow night then back to my parents for cake, ice cream, pinata, and gifts. Nothing special - I have tried to get her excited by making the pinata ourselves and letting her pick out the cake/theme etc... She keeps mentioning her friends coming, I feel bad about not doing the whole "party" thing but I think (hope) she will enjoy the family party tomorrow and going to the amusement park later this week with her favorite cousin.

BBL!

Hi Angela, LOL thinking about you going on rides to get your labor started.

I was talking to my midwife about swelling, saying how I don't get much in my feet unless I am standing for a couple of hours. Then I started to say "however, when I power walk in the mornings....." And she cut me off with, "Your hands swell." She's not a mind reader, it was just what I thought: Increased circulation and blood volume but not using the muscles like I use my legs. She said not to worry about it unless I wake up with swollen hands and face.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all your thoughts yesterday.

Just wanted to pop in and share some nursery pics with you. We found these cool wallpaper type stick-ons to decorate with and went out and bought this changing table/dresser combo over the weekend.

Hi, everyone!

My maternity leave stuff finally got straightened out, and my last day of work is 7/9!!! I started training my replacement, so I wont' be able to post frequently for the next 2 weeks.

I went to a fest this weekend and walked for 1.5 hours! It wasn't as bad as I thought. I slept really good! Good enough to sleep through the earthquake some people felt here last night. Annual Ribfest (that's right, ribs), is coming up, so I'll be going everyday. DH loves ribs... me too, but it gets a little sickening after about 3 days. A lot of walking, so that'll be good!

Sapphires - Congrats and !. This site doesn't allow images in signatures, so you can't insert Lilypie tickers (unless you want to copy the code in the message box).

Suzanne - Thanks for the tip about swelling hands. You're always full of information! Hope you won't deliver before your midwife comes back. Please share your belly shot!

Tiger - Jack is soooo cute!! Good luck on your weight loss!!

Kelley - I take Tums also. I think it's helping with my ice cream craving too.

Sarah - I'm glad your neck and shoulder are feeling better! I sleep with 2 king-size pillows, one to prevent me from rolling over on my back, and the other one to wedge under my belly and between my knees. DH started doing the same thing! It's way comfy!

Kristen - Welcome to the 3rd tri!! Have fun at the park!!!

Jen - WTG on your find!

Pauline - I hope you get less busy soon!!

Ellen - Stay cool!

Shandril - You are a busy bee! When I was taking Tums regularly, I didn't crave milk or ice cream that much. When my heartburn went away, I stopped taking them, and I was eating ice cream everyday. Like Angela said, try adding calcium-rich veggies to see if it helps.

Miss Gigl - Good luck at your appt!

Stacy - Cassidy looks like she's having a ball! Good luck on your weight loss!

Hi, Lauren and Viki!

Angela - That would be a LOT of walking! I felt pretty good after walking around for 1.5 hours, but when I got tired, boy, I needed to plop my butt down right away!

Little Bear - That is so cool that you mentioned to the magazine about this site!

Trolly - The nursery is so cute!

Sorry I wrote a book!
