Good Morning Ladies,

Hope you are all sleeping in today and enjoying a day of rest. I haven't been able to sleep past sunrise in years, must mean I am getting old. As long as I am up, I may as well go work off some of this flab.

Hasta mas a rato,

Suzanne

Greetings friends...

Well, I tried to sleep in, but I couldn't stay in bed past around 8. But considering I went to be around 9 I'd say that's a fair amount of snoozing!

Just returned from the farmer's market where I picked up lots of yummy fruits and veggies for the week. I have to say, it's such a treat to be able to eat more fruit during the summer. The past 2 summers I was totally LC and I had trouble keeping it down to a serving or 2 a week of fruit. Now I get 1 or 2 a day. Woohoo!!

No new symptoms to report, but I'm expecting M/S to kick in any day. Right now I just feel a little queasy when I'm hungry or if I eat too much or drink too much water. So far so good...

Does anyone have any good bra advice? I noticed yesterday I'm starting to pop out of my old ones. Should I just stock up on stretchy sports bras or is it worth it to invest in a few regular ones that are a size or 2 bigger? I'm just afraid that they are gonna keep growing and growing... (Hope not! I'm a 38DDD to begin with!)

Have a great weekend, all!

Good morning ladies!! Another busy weekend in my busy life. I'm hoping that at some point it'll slow down, seeing as I'm off work now till baby is born! Doubtful....

MsGigl... since you are still in early pg, you will likely want to invest in something good thats a size or two bigger than normal. Or, like me, you might still have a few from pre-LC stashed away somewhere that would work. As you get farther along, the sports bras will help, but they're not as supportive as the real thing.

Suzanne, I am so in awe of your ability to still work out a lot. I so wish the drs. had let me keep it up when I got pg, but they insisted that I was too high risk.

As for me, swollen ankles have set in! I'm spending a lot of time in a recliner with my feet up drinking a lot of water. Hoping it's only a temporary thing!!

Morning Guys,

Just having a nice, relaxing Saturday here. It's all rainy so we have an excuse to hole up in the house.

Hi Gigl and teach2live!

Suzanne--I can't sleep late either, darnit! Sometimes I like getting up and being productive but other times I wish I could sleep like I did when I was a teenager....'till noon. I hope you don't mind...my husband and I have been discussing buying a vacation place in Mexico, and I PMed you with a few questions.

Hi Trolly, where have you been hiding? It seems like you haven't been around much this week. I sent you a PM, or rather many PMs, my answer was sort of long.

MissGigl, a couple of women have posted about good places to buy bras. I think Trishagirl and Aphexacid and maybe somebody else. If you are planning on breast feeding, get your nursing bras early. The ones I got last time were super comfortable with lots of good support.

Hi Ellen, you sure are busy for summer vacation! Have you tried dandelion root for your swelling?

Good Saturday afternoon ladies!

Just wanted to check in and say hello to all!!!

I'm on my way to my SIL baby shower. They are having a coed shower and it is suppose to be about 60 people there. WOW!!!

Well my Alexia is getting so big...she now weighs 10lbs 2 ounces. I had to take her to the pediatrician because her bowels had changed and I was concerned turns out its due to my change in eating habits...i lowered my carbs from 100 a day to about 50 a day.....milk is still coming in and BF is going great!! I have about 13 pounds to get to my pregnancy weight of 140. Then my goal weight of 125.

I will be gone to Cancun next week and I can't wait. It is our 1st anniversary on 7/5. Leaving on Wednesday and coming back on Tuesday. Oh I'm going to enjoy it!!!!!!!!!!! Cant wait but I'm sure I will miss Alexia....will post pics tomorrow after I get pics of the shower to fill up my last 7 pics remaining...

Suzanne- Hello...oh I can't wait to be in your country.....try to catch some ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ's

Trolly- Hello, I hope all is well with your pregnancy...only 11 weeks left or so, huh? Hope you start getting some sleep

Teach- my swelling didnt go down until 2 weeks after Alexia's birth.

Gigl- Hello...mmmm some fresh fruit from the markets sounds heavenly right now...I can taste some strawberries right now....

Well off to go get dressed for the shower...

God bless
Cynthia

Hi Guys,

Just popping in again. I have been busy lately with the childbirth class once a week and other stuff going on every day after work it seems like. The class I'm taking at the hospital is OK but kinda blah. The teacher doesn't encourage a ton of discussion or interaction, and it's just a lot of textbook stuff that I already know. It's good for DH though because he wouldn't sit down and read a book (or 10...like me ) about baby birthin'. So at least he'll know the basics for the big day.

What was the consensus on breast pumps? The Medela advanced? A friend was going to loan me one but it turns out that her sister borrowed it and decided to breastfeed longer than she initially planned. Oh well. Maybe I'll try eBay but I don't really understand the whole bidding process.

One more thing...what do you guys think about the SIDS alliance recommending against bumper pads? I soo wanted them for decorative and head-cushioning purposes but it scares me that they recommend against them. Thoughts?

Cyn--I'm glad to hear that Alexia is doing so well and that she can be healthy on a lower carb level. That sounds sensible and it's probably what I'll aim for. Can't wait to get this baby weight OFF! You're right, only 10.5 more weeks. It seems like she'll never get here...it's driving me crazy waiting! Let's see more pics when you can.

Hi to all that follow.

Hi guys!

Man, it is so hot here!! Ugh! I had a bout of sickness this morning, but am feeling much better now. I don't know where it came from!

Here's a question... did you all buy new mattresses? I'm worried about SIDS. A friend of mine gave me her crib and mattress and I'm wondering if it's safe to use. Any input??

Have a great rest of the weekend!!

Sarah, I worried about SIDS so much during Max's first year. I've never heard anything about used crib mattresses and SIDS. I am going to build a side car crib to attach to the side of my bed because I can't find one in stores here (once upon a time I was a carpenter...). The Sear's books all say that the best way to avoid SIDS is to sleep close to your baby. As soon as she/he is big enough to go in the hammock, she'll sleep over the end of our bed. I'll actually feel safest when the baby is sleeping in the hammock because it is virtually impossible to suffocate.

Well, I had a mini-freak out this morning when I found a littel blood on the sheets from yesterday. Not a lot but not something you want to see when preggo. Anyway, I figured it was just minor bleeding from the cervix (DH and I had sex yesterday) which is what my Sears pregnancy book said. I also called the nurse and she said it sounded normal, asked if I was having contractions (no) and said it was the most common call they get at the after-hours place. Plus, baby is moving fine, so I'm not going to stress.

Afternoon Ladies

Doing ok here, regardless of this unbearable heat. Had a picnic yesterday that I tried desperately to make it through...but "feels like" temps of 110 with terrible humidity make it difficult.

I'm finding my hips already sore from sleeping on my sides. Once I wake finding myself on my back, I realize how hard it is to breathe so I am making a conscious effort to sleep on my sides.

I'm also finding nasal issues...which I know are common, but frustrating!! One day my nose is sore and dry....the next I can't stop it from running and the post nasal drip...uggghhh

We go for our next appt. on Wednesday. Unfortunately hubby has a big job interview that has come up so he won't be able to make it to hear the heartbeat for the first time

Hi DesperateInFL, I've been having sinus problems for months now, either too dry or too runny. Saline spray helps sometimes. I don't want to hear any more about your unbearable heat until you've spent an entire pregnancy south of latitude 21....LOL I would NEVER have chosen to be full term during Aug/Sept.

Trolly, hope you're feeling OK.

Sarah, I did a search on cribs and the only thing I could find about used crib mattresses was to make sure the mattress fit the crib so the baby doesn't get wedged in the crack. Is there something else I should worry about?

Cyn, enjoy your vacation! We'll be in Cancun July 6 though 8, let me know if you plan to spend any time at Sam's, Walmart, or Costco (LOL)...we can get together. You sound like you are really enjoying motherhood.

Suzanne- I am so enjoying motherhood all over again. I'm not sure where any of those stores are at. We are staying at the Hyatt Regancy in the hotel zone. It's one of the last hotels on that strip. But maybe we could meet up that would be nice.

Sarah- I have never heard of mattresses related to SIDS but I did get the Sealy Pediatrics mattress and it was new.

Trolly- I'm glad the bleedy wasn't anything. You and my SIL are quite close in your pregnancies. Just wanted to say I LOVE my Medela Advance pump. I purchased my online because in the stores they are so high. Also wanted to let everyone know if you do decide to BF you lower your babies risk of SID by like 50%. I hadn't heard that about the bumper pads but Alexia does have one on her bed. Thanks for the info I'll have to do some research.

Fl- Hello...sorry about the heat!!!!

hahahahaha however I'll argue that spending all but ONE month in Florida's heat pregnant...is NO FUN!! We don't even begin to cool down until xmas/new years (that is, below 70). Not to mention the humidty is what's killin me.

Suzanne and Cyn: The things that I have read and heard about are used mattresses containing a bacteria or fungus. The articles I have read have said that usually sharing mattresses between siblings is not a big deal but to use a mattress from someone else "can" be. But, it's not definite or proven. That's the part that gets me. The mattress I have could be perfectly fine, but how do I know??
