Good morning everyone!
Sarah~I read your post yesterday about feeling your baby move. I kept asking myself...is mine moving? I laid in bed last night with my hand on my tummy and I actually thought I felt movement. It was pretty cool. I can't wait until it is more often !Hope everybody has a good day! I'll check in later. Last edited by karatejen : 06-24-2004 at 06:24 AM. |

Good morning!
Suzanne - Welcome back! Sounds like you had a real nice relaxing time! Sarah - about your DH's family's height! I'm barely 5'5", and DH is 6'2". I'm hoping this little guy won't give me too much problems.Jen - How exciting! The trick I used to feel movement (and make DH feel it too) was I laid on my left side on the couch after dinner and laid my hand on my tummy while watching TV. Sure enough, I felt tons of movement! Angela - Please pop in to say hello. We haven't heard from you, and we're a bit worried! I have my first internal this afternoon. I'm sooo excited!

Hi everyone. I haven't caught up yet on the posts the last couple of days so I will have to do more personals later.
Hi Jen! Hi Katie - thanks for your concern! How are you feeling lately??? I have been just avoiding people this week. I have to admit I have been hormonal and just not a patient person. No reason to subject others to my "sunny" disposition right now. I have been in super-overdrive nesting. I have cleaned several rooms like I am getting ready for an inspection - I have purged so much stuff (even got the steam cleaner out).... which is a good thing but in my mood everything looks like it should be thrown away. My nerves are just on end and I feel like I NEED to get this all done. I am driving Mike crazy b/c he tells me not to do it but I end up doing it anyway. Really don't know what is wrong with me mentally right now... I also have NOT been able to sleep at all, if I do I am dreaming awful dreams about Mike (cheating, dying, etc...) Then I wake up from those dreams mad and upset and find myself being paranoid. WEIRD - beginning to think I need some therapy here. Its like if I don't stay busy cleaning my mind will kick into overdrive thinking Mike is out cheating on me. There is no basis for it - just PARANOIA. He is not that kind of guy, he has no time for it b/c he is working constantly, he never goes "out with the guys" - my theories only arise after one of those lovely dreams happen. Geez I am really getting to be a basketcase! I will be so happy when things get back to "normal". And no I am not adhereing to my modified bedrest, yes my bp has been up (headaches to prove it), and contractions still at it but not consistant (just to add to my JOY). Hopefully I will come back and be a little more cheerful. I did read how so many of our 1st trimester mamas are suffering from MS.... I feel for you all. I did always take my prenates at night b/c of this problem and it seemed to help. I know several dr's who say to use flintstone vitamins when all else fails.Talk later!

Moring guys!
Angela- - You are nearing the end of this journey and I hope you feel better soon! We are glad everything is okay- we where a little worried. Katie- Hi- So has the nesting instinct started in for you yet? Jen- Isn't it wonderful to feel the baby. My Husband FINALLY felt mine yesterday- I think the baby wants to keep it between us because as soon as I have someone put a hand on my belly he stops moving- He is alreay a little joker- Hi to everyone else- Not much going on here- We are having beautiful weather so I have been trying to enjoy it. Jessica and I went swimming yesterday it was fun. She is not afraid at all of the water and actually went under a few times. BBL- Kristen

Good morning ladies! *Yawn* Boy, I'm sleepy today!... big surprise there!
Had a pretty good day yesterday. I've still been having the heart pounding, shortness of breath episodes, but I have found if I sit back and raise my arms over my head that it gets much better. I can get really deep breaths that way and it really seems to cut down on that feeling. I'm still holding steady with weight, so at 19 weeks I haven't gained anything yet. I don't how this is possible since I struggle with weight gain so much. I can put on two pounds just smelling a cookie usually. I guess my metablolism must be really different right now. I sure wish it would stay this way after the baby is here (wishful thinking). Jen: How awesome that you felt movement!! I didn't start feeling it until 18 weeks. It started out as just one little tap, then the next day it was a little more and so on. I'm feeling it more now, but I know I'm not feeling everything. When I listen with my doppler I hear it moving all over the place, but I don't feel them. I'm sure it will get stronger and stronger as we go! ![]() Katie: Good luck at your appointment! You don't hear many women talk about how excited they are for an internal. I hope everything goes well... let us know! Angela: Honey, you are just hormonal right now. You have a lot on your mind. You have been struggling a lot with this pregnancy, it's onlh natural to react to it all! Take care of yourself and if it helps to talk through it with us, we are always here for you!! ![]() |

Kristen: Thanks for worrying about me
So exciting when dh gets to feel the baby move. Mike likes sitting and watching my belly move from side to side now. Michael is CONSTANTLY moving and rolling. Have you started Jessica in swim lessons? I am definitely taking Erin and Maggie next year. Maggie is my little fish and is READY to learn... Erin loves the water but HATES when she gets her head wet (shes a little wimpy sometimes). Swimming during pregnancy is HEAVENLY!!!!!Sarah: Definitely hormonal, your post made me cry thanks for the support and you are totally right. Its hormones. You would think b/c I KNOW that I wouldn't be so pyscho.... nope. Maybe the lack of sleep has something to do with it. LOL - The heart pounding and shortness of breath you are feeling are due to an increase in hormones I found out through my dr... that is why I was having heart palpitations. Even lately I am getting a racing feeling with my heart for no reason, almost like I am experiencing anxiety... GOD these hormones are going to drive us ALL nuts!!! I also know my resting heartrate stays around 80-95 during this pregnancy (more towards 95) - the dr said not to be concerned until it stays 120+ when laying down on your left side. Its just a weird weird feeling I know! Hope the hormones level out for you soon!!! |

Hi Everyone -
I did something to my computer at work and the IT guy had to wipe it clean and start all over! I can't believe how much I really do rely on having a computer! I ended up leaving early because I couldn't do my work. Jen - The first movements you feel are incredible. When you are closer to your due date they are fun to watch. Katie - Good luck at the Dr. Can't wait to hear about your progression. Angela - Sorry about the hormones. I know what you mean about the dreams and how you bring them into reality so easy! I have actually yelled at DH in the middle of the night because of my dreams Kristen - Sounds like a fun time swimming with Jessica. Sarah - I can't believe how well you have done on your weight gain. Well, I go to the dr. today for a check-up and we will talk about how big my guy is. I have no idea if they sent over the info from the U/S on Monday, so I will get to tell her how big he is. Chat later! Wendy |

Angela - Glad to hear from you! I'm hormonal too, but not as bad. I'm getting very random BH ctxs that go away when I change my activity, so that's something new. Sorry to hear about what you're going through.
I do my yoga breathing excercises, and it helps a little when I feel like yelling at someone. I know exactly how you feel about feeling like you're having an anxiety attack. I've been feeling the same way. We will make it to the end without killing someone! And please be careful not to overdo yourself cleaning!Kristen - I had big time nesting instinct a month ago, and it's now gone. I'm so lazy lately. I think it's starting again. I keep thinking of what I can clean next. Lately, I've been on my hands and knees cleaning up kitty puke (hairball season), so I have my daily share of cleaning. Sarah - WTG on no weight gain! I did read that being pg increases your metabolism. It also slows down your digestion, so maybe you're eating less without realizing it? LOL about me being excited having an internal. I didn't think about that! I should be working on my project that I should finish in the next 2 weeks, but work is the farthest thing from my mind. It's just going to make me grouchy anyway. I have to do it because I'm the only one that can do it. I hate that... Wendy - Good luck at your appt today! Last edited by FluffiB : 06-24-2004 at 08:58 AM. |

Hi Ladies!
Lauren: I LOVE those pics! What an angel Kendall is! You look great. MrsSarah and Jen and Kristen: How lucky to be able to feel your babies move! I can't wait. Wendy: Ugh! Being computer-less would be a nightmare for me! I use a laptop and it seems like my entire life is on it! Katie: Excited for internal? Let us know how it goes!Angela: Feel better! I have heard to expect the vivid dreams too. Sleeping is one of the things I do best, so I'm worried about that too. As for me, morning sickness is still here in full force. I discovered if I can puke early on, I get it over with for the day and am not quite so nauseous. I worry because I am not eating much, and half of what I do eat comes back up. My DH cleaned all the toilets in the house yesterday so I would have "something clean to hug". Hi to all! Kelley

Hello everyone.
Lauren, you are beautiful. Kendall takes after her mom for sure. You guys both look so cute in those pictures. Angela, don't feel bad hon, its very common to have those types of dreams. I had tons of those cheating dreams when I was pregnant with DS. Oh my god, a couple of days ago the weird dreams started, except I dreamt I had a penis (and it was a hard on) Of course, I woke up like WTH and my bladder felt like it was going to burst so I had to run to the bathroom. I definitely have been having more dreams than I usually do not pregnant. I'm trying to take advantage of being able to sleep on my stomach and back for as long as I can. Wont' be much longer when I won't be able to do that. Kelley, that was no nice of your DH. I have started to go through my nesting stage and it hasn't ended yet. It really bothers me when the house, especially the kitchen is a mess. Usually, I can leave it until the weekend but not no more. Guess its getting me prepared to have an extension to our family. |

Hi Mommies,
Kelley, that is so sweet of your husband! Sorry to hear you are feeling so sick, hopefully it won't last as long as mine did. Lauren, Kendall is so precious! You look great, too! How's the weight loss going? You look like a model! Angela, glad to hear you are still with us. Does your doctor plan to let you go full term if possible? I can't remember if you said you were going to be induced this time. Kristen, the swimming lessons sound like a fun summer treat for Jessica. We take Max swimming almost every day and he can hold his breath and swim under water for a short distance. He has NO body fat so he sinks like a stone, but he keeps coming up for air. Wendy, good luck at the doctors' today. I hope your husband gets the job in CA. Katie, good luck with your appt, too! Sarah, WTG on the weight gain. Are you trying to watch what you are eating? Any advice for the rest of us? I am trying to cut back on carbs today, I had too many ice cream cones while we were gone. When I first found out I was pregnant, I thought my goal weight for this pregnancy would be to gain under 30 lbs. That seemed reasonable since I gained 20 lbs last time but started out 39 lbs heavier to begin with. Well, I have already gained 24 lbs and I don't think I can make it through the next 12 weeks and only gain 6 more lbs. Now I am thinking I'll try to gain 40 lbs or less....but I'll leave my goal at 30 lbs or less for now. When you ladies see me change it to <35 lbs and <40 lbs, you'll know I've been eating too much again....LOL I am also having very mild swelling of my hands and sometimes my feet. Has anyone tried taking dandilion root? I just got some but I am not sure how much to take. Hopefully Tigerlily will come along with some herbal advice. Saludos, Suzanne

PS Hi Viki!
PPS Angela, don't beat yourself up. I spend at least an hour every day being really angry with my husband. There is never any reason for me to feel that way (except hormones) but I get so mad I think about leaving him. Seriously. Then a few minutes later I am madly in love with him again and I can't even remember why I was so upset. |

I'm back from my appt. I'm 1.5cm dilated and 50% effaced! I forgot to ask what station the baby was at, but as soon as he started the internal he said "Yup, there's the head!" The hard lump on my left above my belly button is his butt. He also did a swab for Group B Strep. Should get the results next week. My uterus measured 35cm, so pretty much on target.
I was concerned about my BP being higher than normal the last 2 appts. I'm usually at 110/60 (a few times, it's been 90/50), and last week was 120/70, and today was 128/70. 2 OBs (group practice) weren't concerned because it's still in the normal range. I've been seeing spots, been dizzy, headachy, confused, just don't feel quite right. They're not concerned, but I'm scared that it might be mild (if there is such a thing) PIH or preeclampsia. Oh well, the only cure for them is to have the baby anyway. Wendy - I hope your hubby gets the job!! Lauren - Kendall is cute, and you are gorgeous as ever! I love your name tag outfit! Good luck selling your house! Kelley - How nice of your DH! Sorry about your ms, but I'm glad you kind of found a way to work around it. They say it's OK to lose weight during the first tri because of ms and such. Viki - Nesting instinct already? I was mostly on the couch sleeping at 9w! Suzanne - You snuck in on me! I gained 24 lbs at 28w too! Lately, the gain has been tapering off, so I'm sure yours will too. My SIL hardly gained any the last month. I've been staying away from ice cream too. I think it's the calcium thing. Because my heartburn's been pretty bad, I've been taking one Tums at least 3x a day, and that seemed to ease my ice cream craving a bit. I've been craving salads lately, especially spinach. At least that's healthy!

Thinking back now, I gained a lot my second trimester with DS and third trimester I gained some but not as much. I've put on 2 lbs in 8 weeks. I'll be so happy if I only gain another pound until I enter my second trimester. 3 more weeks to go.

Suzanne: Honestly, I haven't been watching what I'm eating. I'm not eating horribly though. But, I've definitely fed my cravings. LOL!
Katie: I'm so glad your appt went well! How exciting to have some progress! I think it's amazing that they can feel the head. I hope your Group B strep test comes out okay! |
