Slow starting Monday!

I am back. Like I expected, my SIL passed last Monday night and the rest of the week was spent making arrangements and having her funeral. It was sad, but all went well.

This is a quick drive by. I needed a quick mental break from work. I'll check back in after lunch. Maybe everyone will be awake and chatty.

Amy~I am so sorry you are having quite a time with MS. I can relate to the constipation. I felt exactly the same way you feel. I take the prenates with a mild stool softner in them. It took about a month, but after that period I was back to normal. I check the dosage of SS in the vitamin and it is not enough to be concerned with, so I am still taking the same ones. I do not want to be in that BIND again. I could handle everything but the constipation!

I got some chewable fiber tablets. That really seemed to help. Or, I would eat shredded wheat for breakfast, or make sure I got lots of veggies in.

Hi everyone!

Hope all the Daddy's and Daddy's-to-Be had a nice weekend. We decided to go to the lake Saturday and drove back Sunday afternoon (since the dr's appt went well). I did absolutely NOTHING. I did sit under a shade tree for a little while on Saturday afternoon... but most of my time was spent inside Nothing like having tons of people telling you what you can and can't do.... The swelling has started in my feet and legs now - its a daily occurance. It does go away if I keep them elevated, but comes right back if I sit or stand. I had bad swelling with Erin and NONE with Maggie (wish this pregnancy took after my 2nd ).

Jen: I am sorry to hear about your SIL - but I know from your previous posts that she is probably at peace now. I hope your dh is doing well with it!

Good Morning Sarah!

Hi everybody,

I have been avoiding the computer for the last week. We keep it in our study upstairs and it has been too hot to leave the ground floor of our house. It is a little cooler this morning, but by this afternoon it won't be tolerable.

Had an okay weekend... it was a lot to handle. It was the anniversary of the death of my father, which always makes me very emotional, especially coupled with father's day and pregnancy. I really miss him. He was only 51 years old. Saturday was hubby's birthday. He loved his BBQ!! It is gorgeous. Stainless-steel, with five elements, two huge prep surfaces... nice and big. He was so surprised too! I can't believe I managed to keep it a secret. I usually blow it and give him his present right after I buy it. But not this time. And I even bought it about three weeks ago!!

Had a miserable headache all yesterday and last night. I still feel a twinge in the back of my head and behind my eyes. I'm hoping it doesn't develop into anything worse.

Didn't get any results from the diabetes screening test yet. Anybody know how long it takes to get the test results? I took the test on Tuesday. Wari, I don't remember if you got your results- how did it work out? I'm not really worried. There seems to be a medical debate as to whether gestational diabetes is even a real syndrome. I've calmed down a lot on the "measuring 33 weeks" too. I figure either I have an earlier due date, lots of amniotic fluid or else the doctor is just measuring incorrectly. Honestly, my money is on the latter. I read in a couple of books that measurements can vary by 10cm, depending on the height and shape of the woman. The doctor should take a baseline reading at 20 weeks, and then check each visit to make sure that your uterus is growing. It is all just a guideline. Well, at twenty weeks the doctor told me I was measuring large... obviously she didn't use that as a benchmark. Having a large-for-date uterus is not a sign of gestational diabetes.

Sometimes I just shake my head with the medical profession. So, I'm going to keep my due date at Sept. 28th, but I'm fully expecting Miss Bethany to show up at around Sept. 9th.

Sorry for the rambling.... felt like writing a book today

hey ladies!

For the Ladies that are close to birth or anyone who remembers from their last pregnancy (I don´t )

When did/does the baby turn for labour and delivery?

Both of mine did some serious somersaults today, but they both move so much I can hadly keep track of who is who.let alone which way they are!

Jen- I am so sorry about your SIL.

Nicole- if the GD test comes out high you should hear by phone right away, if not you get to wait till your next visit, or you can call and see if they will give you the test results over the phone.

to everyone!

I just spoke with the Dr.'s office and I passed my test. They said my first two hours the numbers were good, and the third hour they went low. So, I need to make sure I eat protein every 3 hours. I don't know the exact numbers, but I should find out when I go on Thursday for my appt.

Redjewel - Hi There! Honestly, not exactly sure when they start moving in position.

hi everyone. We had a good father's day. We had a bbq at my cousin's house. It was a potluck so I just took over some salad. Easy for me, no clean up and it was the easiet thing to make.

Tomorrow is my first ultrasound. I can't wait!

I'll check back in later. Off to read the weekend's thread.

Chris, I'm not sure exactly which month it was but I remember when I went for my last ultra sound, DS was already facing down. It must have been around 7 months or so. I would check babycenter.com, they usually have all this info on there.

Hi Guys,

No time for personals since I’m at work but just popping in to say that I had my glucola test last Wednesday and got the results back today…normal. They told me it would be 7-10 days but I think they always give longest time so people don’t call and bug ‘em. I’m so glad that I won’t be subjected to the 3-hour test!

I’m starting to go to the doc every 2 weeks now that I’m past 28 weeks so I’m hoping that makes the rest of the pregnancy go by faster! Father’s Day was good…had the in-laws over for lunch and then relaxed the rest of the day.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Hi Everyone!

Well, we are back from our Albuquerque trip and boy, am i tired!
Well, I am now familiar with every rest stop and gas station restroom between Phoenix and Albuquerque. I highly recommend the Gas station restaurant in Winona. Excellent fajita burgers!

8 hours that darn trip took ( drove the majority of it myself) and we had turn right back around and do it again two days later. We missed the wedding we were supposed to attend. (misinterpreted the time difference) and to top it off we got lost on the way to the hotel, adding to the time loss, but we at least made it for the reception. I got lucky, my dress for the wedding still fit, ( I was a little worried, as I had gained 8 lbs.). They had the reception at a great place, very picturesque. My neice found a great guy and I couldn't be prouder of them. Beautiful couple.

All I can say is next time, I'M FLYING!!!!!!

Anyway, no more MS except the very occasional yuckies if I eat too much grease or red meat. My energy level is back ( thank goodness!) so I will be hitting the gym again as of this week. I really miss my yoga class! I am going to need every calorie of help I can get until my appetite comes back under control.
