Good Morning!
Wendy: I am throwing a pork roast in the crockpot myself Those things are the BEST inventions!!Trish: The pics are just beautiful!!! Your birth story made me cry and have flashbacks. I know exactly how you felt when you weren't able to see Bradley and I know exactly how you felt when you had to leave the hospital without a baby in your arms I experienced those feelings 4yrs ago and hearing your story I could feel EXACTLY how I did back then! I am so happy both of you are home and healthy!!!! God has truely blessed you with that little boy My contractions have eased up again (thank GOD!). Funny how they come in waves. I did get more last night but I was determined to NOT use the meds - I took a super LONG hot shower and that loosened my back up. I did have several the rest of the night and while I was sleeping - they eased up by morning. No reason to focus on them, so I have decided to ignore them LOL (yea right!) Hope everyone else is doing good! I am waiting for the cable guy to come fix one of our boxes and a couple of painters coming to give us an estimate on painting the exterior of the house (I HATE spending money on stuff like this!!!)

Morning Guys,
Well I haven't had a chance to get on since the weekend. I had a bunch of people in town and went to my first shower. I got all kinds of good stuff...Baby Bjorn carrier, Diaper Genie, monitors and more. Seeing how I have 2 more showers to go, I don't think I'll have to buy much. Here are some pics. I have to say that pictures have a way of making the weight gain more real. ![]() It was funny because while everyone was telling birthing and breastfeeding stories the room sort of split up into factions....natural birth/breastfeeders vs. gimme the epidural bottle feeders. Everyone has a strong opinion about these things!I'm going in this a.m. for my 1-hour glucose test. Also, our childbirth classes start tonight and continue weekly for 6 weeks. I can't wait to see what the other preggies are like. I'm hoping I like the teacher also. http://public.fotki.com/trolly101112/ Angel--You're keeping a great attitude, considering all you've had to deal with! wari--I'm starting to have sleep issues too, just a touch of insomnia, plus I wake up super-early. Trish--I'm so glad you're past the hard part and home with your little boy. After what you've been through I'm sure it's heaven to have him with you. Kristen--A boy! How perfect. Suzanne--Hope you're feeling better. A stomach bug + pregnancy would push me over the edge! DesperateInFL--I know how it is waiting on news...let us know! Tracy--Your posts are so sweet. Makes me impatient to meet my girl. Hi to everyone else. You guys are so chatty that it's hard to keep up! Last edited by trolly : 06-16-2004 at 07:54 AM. |

trolly: The baby shower looked like so much fun!!! It makes me wish I was having another this time around. You will have all kinds of goodies once the 3rd shower rolls around. You look ADORABLE!!!

Trish - I had to fight back the tears as I read your story. I'm glad that it had a happy ending. Bradley is so precious. Please keep us posted on your family's progress!
FL - Hope everything is OK! Suzanne - How are you feeling today? Tracy - Your posts just makes me want to have my baby NOW!! Wendy - I hate insomnia too, especially if I can't nap during the day. At least you were productive! Angela - Keep telling Michael to stay in there a little longer! Trolly - You look so adorable! Your house is going to be packed with baby stuff! I went on the hospital tour yesterday. I would've never thought I would feel intimidated, especially since I was in triage not too long ago. Even though the rooms were VERY nice, with whirlpool and a mini-fridge (it was like a hotel room), boy, those beds just made me really nervous for some reason. It is hitting me hard that I'm going to have a baby soon, and I'm going to be in sooo much pain and be sooo scared! I want my mommy!!

Good morning ladies!!
![]() I had the COOLEST thing happen last night!! DH was sitting on the floor with the doppler on my belly. You could hear the heartbeat and the baby moving around. He said "geez, I can't believe you can't feel all that movement!" I said, "I know, it sounds like it's doing sommersaults in there!" All of a sudden we heard the baby move and I FELT IT! It felt like a hand or food or something run along the inside of my belly. It was AWESOME! Well of course, DH got all excited about that! ![]() Trish and Tracy: Do you guys have a Babies R Us? We do and they have a whole section of premie clothes. Might be worth checking out! Angela: I'm sorry those contractions are keeping up. Take good care of yourself. Wendy: Up since 5?! Ugh! I'm sorry!! Trolly: You look great!! Your shower sounds like FUN! I can't wait to have one!!! |

Katie: Those tours can be a little scary. Having a baby is really a strange thing. Even though yes you will experience pain and there is a fear of the unknown - when you go into labor its like something clicks in a woman's head. You start focusing and the pain is productive. It is so hard to explain but it won't be like you are in a wounded kind of pain. Both times when I have been in laboring (1 natural, 1 w/ epi) I have experienced the contraction pains - I naturally start getting a tunnel vision kind of focusing and start breathing with them. Anyway - YOU will do GREAT!!! The key is RELAXATION - so ANYTHING that makes you relax bring it with you... whether its a picture, a piece of clothing, music, etc... and I am keeping Michael in until you have your little boy first
Chris can go before me too Sarah: That is so neat your dh is into everything! Mike likes to know everything going on with me and the pregnancy but I can tell he still feels like a fish out of water when I start talking about stuff LOL I remember it took him the longest time when I was pregnant with Erin getting used to feeling her move and SEEING her move. It sort of freaked him out - geez it freaked ME out LOL |

Hi Mommies,
Sorry I am so late getting here. Two nights ago our invertor blew up, which means we can't draw electricity off our battery bank. This morning the generator wouldn't start and we had loaned the back-up genny to a friend. So I'm was sitting around contemplating making the butter pecan ice cream for DH's birthday party with the hand crank on the ice cream maker.....NOT. We've got the back-up now and I have power! Chocolate cake is in the oven, I'll start the ice cream next. All these electrical problems are driving DH nuts. They are getting ready to connect the town to 24 hour power and we are only about 200 yards from town. Technically we are in city limits but we would have to go through a bunch of bureaucratic red tape to prove it and try to get the government to give us power. We consulted some private contractors about putting in the posts, lines, and transformers from the end of town power to our place and it would cost $15,000 to $20,000 US dollars. We keep hoping some of our cheap neighbors will decide to go in with us to pay for it but we are the only business and full time residents in this short stretch. Or maybe a rich neighbor farther from town will pay for it and we can just tap in...hehehe... My stomach is better today, just a twinge now and then. My midwife said I would know if I took too much vitamin C because it would give me diarrhea. Yesterday I had about 2500 mgs between 5 and 9 PM and I've had another 1500 mgs this morning with no adverse reaction. So either the C works or I am just getting better on my own! Wari, nice colors! Sorry you are up so early with nothing to do. Trolly, you look darling! WTG on the big baby shower score. Angela, glad you are feeling better today, too. Katie, the hospital sounds great but I know what you mean. After my last birth experience, I don't want to go anywhere near a hospital. We do need to go look at our options just in case something goes wrong but I sure hope I don't end up in one. Sarah! Yippee, that is so cool that your husband could be there with you for the first real feel! I gotta get back to the cooking. I invited 4 friends to DH's birthday dinner..........Then he invited 6 more friends and their 4 children.........Little does he know that he's going to be doing most of the cooking on the BBQ.....LOL

Well, just got into work but made a quick detour at Starbucks for a decaf Breve Latte. They just opened a drive thru Starbucks that I drive by on my way to work - a little too convenient for me
Angela - I love my crockpot and it is basically throw everything in and you are done. I like to put whole chickens in there as well! So glad to hear the contractions eased up a bit. Good luck with cable and the paint guy! FluffiB - I know what you mean about the hospital tour. When DH and I went on our 1st tour I felt the same as you. I totally agree with Angela. Trolly - You look great! Looks like you had a fun shower. You probably won't need much by the time the 3rd shower rolls around. Mrs. Sarah - How cute about your DH!!! WooHoo on feeling the baby! Thininmex - Glad you are feeling better and the Vitamin C is working! Sounds like a fun celebration for DH's b-day!!!! Too bad about all the electrical problems. Sure is a lot of money to get the line, so hopefully you can get someone to go in with you!

Way too much time on my hands!
|
Update on miscarriage. I went back to the doctor today for the first time since my miscarriage on May 31st (10 weeks).
Everything seems back to normal. I got a negative on the pregnancy test so I was pleased the hormones were gone. She said we could get started again. I'm thankful my body did what it was supposed to.....The bleeding stopped about a week and a half after it happened, and I am pretty sure I have already ovulated. But, I am disappointed because that window is closed for this month. I think my "prime time" was two days ago and we had to wait to see her today. Another reason I am disappointed is that we will be in Europe for two weeks next week and I am pretty sure I will get my period while we are there. I am going to a wedding and I will probably be bloated. Plus, I have to figure out the whole girdle/period thing! On the bright side, as I said, my body did everything by the text book. I was regular before and hope it will return that way. Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers! Wish us luck (I'm not ready to be back on the board yet), and I will keep you posted. Congrats again to all you beautiful mommies! I check in regularly to see how you are all doing. I've seen some good looking families in here lately! Can't wait to see more! Dena

Good morning ladies....well afternoon,,
Alexia slept for 6 hours last night. Oh it was like heaven....of course I kept waking up to check on her ... I thought the monitor had went out and I couldn't hear her crying . LOL...but she just hadn't woke up. Tomorrow I take her to the pediatrian,...I can't wait for an update because I am sure she has gained like 2 pounds. When she was born she weighed 7lbs 12.4 ounces but when she left the hospital she was 7 lbs 5 ounces....well thats all here...nothing new to report at all. Well today I'm down another 3 pounds. Suzanne- It's funny you should say that about BF because as Angel mentioned it lowers your risk for Breast Cancer and it also lowers your risk for cancer of the uterus. But mostly, I did it because I wanted to bond and give Alexia good nourishment. I didn't BF w/ my son and I wish I would have. I think it's a personal choice but unfortunately not all women can produce enough or other medical reasons stop them. I AM SO BLESSED TO DO THIS SUCCESSFUL...the bf class helped tremendously. Angel- I'm glad the hot shower worked for you. I use to use this trick all the time. I would take 3 and 4 showers a day. LOL... I hate spending money on the house too but that's my DH's favorite project. Each week he is doing something. This week he is replacing all the light covers. Last week he replaced some doors....but heck I guess it beats him breaking things. Lauren- HOW ARE YOU????? Tracy- I am LOVING YOUR POST!!!!!! I'm w/ Sarah try Babies R us and if you don't have a store try online or Kohl's has premie section. I hope this helps!!!!!! Trish- to you and your family!! My friend had a c-section the day after I had Alexia and didn't see her daugher for 10 hours. Oh I would have wanted to die..but the worst is behind you and little Bradley is safe in his mommy's arms...BTW you look terrific...you have the prettiest skin. Wendy- Hello....MMMMM a roast sounds great. I'm cooking Chicken Divan the low carb way tonight. Dena- I'm glad you are okay....Have fun on your trip.....Let us know how things progress for you... Mrs. Sarah- Oh that's so cute...the first movements are so special..... Fluff- when I did the hospital tour I had already seen the rooms due to preterm labor but it was still a shocker. I know you can't wait to hold your precious little one.... Trolly- look like you had a blast at your shower...it's great to get good things and save your own money. Well God Bless you all!!!! Cynthia

Good afternoon ladies-
All is well here. Shawn and I have not really discussed names yet- We will work on it. My cousin finally had her baby last night. After 36 hours of labor- She had Deavan Elizabeth at 9:30 last night. I can't wait to go to the hospital today to see her!!! Trish- Bradley is adorable - so tiny. He looks great! So do you and Jason!!!! Suzanne- Glad you feel better = Hope DH has a great bday- Shawn's is Friday. I hope that you find a cheaper way to get full power. DFL- Hope everything is okay- Any word from the Doctors office? Tracy- Hi - how is Katie doing? Angela- Glad the contractions have subsided. Trolly- Looks like you had a great shower! You look good!! Dena- I am glad the doctors visit went well. I am confident with your positive attitude and good track record of being regular you will be pg before you know it! Katie- Your statement made me laugh. When I gave birth to Jessica my mom and husband where there- but I must say I wanted my mom more than my husband- HA HA. It all is a little overwelming but it will be fine!! Sarah- So glad you got to feel the baby move and hear it - How neat!! Wendy- Yes drive through are convenient aren't they- Did you get a good night rest before you woke up so early? Cyn- How wonderful that Alexia sleep so long!! I am sure she is growing like a weed. Hi to anyone else- Kristen

I know 36 hours is a long time- the good news is that she only had to push twice- so It wasn't that bad. She was induced three weeks early and Deavan weight was 7 lbs 6 oz= can you imagine how big she would have been if she had went full term!!

Hi everyone.
Angela, glad your contractions slowed down. I was getting kinda worried there. Did your doctors say though because of the early pregnancies you had that you would probably deliver early with this one too? I bet at this stage though, you're ready. Cynthia, Alexia is already sleeping 6 hours, thats great! I remember when I was so happy when DS slept 5 hours. Trolly, those pictures looked great. YOu are so pretty. Hi to everyone else. Go to go out and buy this purse I saw yesterday at Ross. Its a Ninewest purse for $69 at Ross its for $23. (even though I should be working) This weekend DH and I are going to clean out our garden and get the paint and blinds for DS' room. I have three other mommies from work that we do a monthly play group with our kids who are all 1-4 months apart. I signed up DS for swim lessons in July. I'm so excited. Its only M-Th and for .5 hour a day. |

CYN: I am glad breastfeeding is going well. You are SO lucky Alexia sleeps 6 hours, good grief. Jack throws me 5 hrs sometimes but usually it's 4 hr chunks still - and he's a big fat 3.5 month old who must weigh at least 16 lbs by now! I feed him at 10pm when I go to sleep and he'll wake up at 3am and some time between 6am-7am. Not too bad but a full night's sleep would be nice. I can't remember the last time I slept a full 8 hrs - probably before I got pregnant sometime!
