Good morning Angela!

You are very talented in painting your nursery! But being a Tech grad, I can't honestly say I am crazy about your theme . But I am sure you'll understand! My family would abosolutely love it!!! They are die hard Georgia Fans.

OOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHH NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! I don't like the gators either!!!!

I was actually raised a Bulldog fan, but quickly turned to the other side when I started school at Tech. But since I did spend quite a few years cheering for UGA, I had a strong dislike for FL that still exists today.

New Here!

Hello Ladies!

May I join you? I am newly PG (due in Feb. 2005) with #1 and trying to stay LC. I have lurked on these boards for quite a while and am impressed with how knowledgeable and kind everyone seems to be! I'm 5 weeks PG (technically 3 from Ovulation, but that's another source of confusion for me) and have no apetite but no hint of morning sickness either. I guess I can look forward to that later?

I barely made my goal weight after 10 months on Atkins and got my BFP the next day. Nice, but ironic. Anyway, I look forward to any advice you gals can give this newbie!

Hello Ladies

I just found out tusday that we're PG! Not sure weather to or . We wanted it to happen just didn't think it would this soon. I went off the pill in mid april, we weren't going to try but we weren't going to not try either. Does that make sense? Anyway going to see my doc. today, that should make it real! I had just started to lose weight and really get into this life style now I need to change it again. I'm looking it to a South Beach kinda thing, I know I need to eat but I want to do it the best way possible. I really think I will be more aware this time of what is going into my body. Any advice would be great. Thanks and congrats to all of you

Hello Everyone -

I have my Glucose test this morning, so I will be sitting at the lab for 3 hours. Thank goodness I also have dr. appt. inbetween the three hours, so it will give me something to do. Not looking forward to having the blood drawn and drinking the orange stuff, but gotta do it. I am hoping for good news on my weight gain when I weigh in. According to my scale I have actually lost about 4lbs., but not sure. I have been eating really well. Last night I had grilled shrimp, veggies and a half cup of chicken enchilada soup. We were at Chilis, so DH and I shared the cup of soup before our meals. DH is LC'ing.

KarateJen - Great colors!!!! I love RedJewels with the two colors, too cute! How are you feeling??

Angela - How is the BP today? Contractions??

Kelley - Welcome and Congratulations!!!! Glad you found us!!!

Babyblue - WooHoo on getting Jessica's room almost done. Can't wait until Tuesday to find out what you are having!!!

Chat with you later!

The weirdest thing happend last night! I got down on the floor on my tummy to play with my dogs. I haven't done that in a long time... anyway... I couldn't do it! It felt like I was laying on a basketball! It was the WEIRDEST feeling, but so cool at the same time because I can tell I really am growing something in there!

Jen: Love the colors today!!!

Angela: Hi!!!

Kelley: and congratulations!! This is a great group of girls... and NO question is taboo! I love it here!!

Kristen: It must feel so good to have Jessica's room done. I can't wait for pics!!

Cyn: I couldn't see your pics...

LivnLG: Congratulations!!!!!!!!!

Wari: Good luck on your appointment today! I hope everything turns out great!!

Congrats to all the newly pregnant moms!

Hey I weighed 143.8 today! I keep inching down. And I was REALLY bad this past weekend when we went to Knott's Berry Farm but I've been trying to eat well all week. However, I have an expresso brownie from Starbucks nearly every day as a treat (they are pretty small though). So I'm definitely far from being in ketosis - it must be the breastfeeding I guess!

MadameX and LivnLGNOmore!

I am ashamed to say that I won't be much help on the maintaining a semi-LC lifestyle while pregnant. Once the queasiness hit me, protein and LC just made it worse. I am now past the phase and can eat Lower Carb again, I have just lost the willpower and desire. I have don't much of a sweet tooth (turned down some yummy looking b-day cake this morning), so I consider that a balance and a way my body is making sure I don't go overboard on the weight gain.

Hi Sarah, Kirsten and Tiger!

Thanks for the thanks on the colors....I had a little energy and felt inspired this morning. I take it when I can get it.

Wendy~tell me more about this test. I guess I am a little ignorant on the tests they will be doing.

The only one I have been made aware of fromt the doctor is the test for Down's syndrome. I will be offered that test next Wednesday. DH and I still haven't decided on whether or not to take it. Anybody out have in info on that test?

LivinLG~I wasn't sure how I felt about being pregnant either. We weren't trying to get pregnant...but obviously not trying to prevent it very much either . I waited about 3 months to tell anyone at work. It took me about 2 - 3 months to be completely over my apprehension of being a mother (this is my first) and be with the pregnancy.

MadameX~ I think it is great you made your goal weight before getting pg! Did you keep all your old clothes? I lost about 20lbs before I got pg and thankfully haven't given my clothes away...so I won't have to buy the maternity stuff right away. I am just working my way back up through my "bigger" stuff.

Jenn: I just took that test. It's a blood test. It can have a high rate of false positive. DH and I decided to have it done anyway, and all of our results came back great. It is a huge peace of mind for me.

Wow, congrats and to all new mommies!

Jen - Great colors!

Angela - Good morning!

Kristen - Good luck next Tuesday!

Wendy - The orange drink wasn't too bad, especially because I've been eating bad sweets, so it didn't taste overly sugary to me. I felt nauseous aferwards though. They're skipping straight to the 3-hr test? Yuk... Good luck!

Sarah - LOL. I do have a basketball in there. I can't wait until I can lay on my tummy!

Tiger - WTG on your weight loss! Those expresso brownies sound really yummy...

Babycenter.com is a great site. If anyone else is interested in buying from there, here's a few coupon codes you can use to save some $$:

This coupon site is wonderful - I use it all the time. Enjoy!

Thanks for the warm welcome ladies!

Jen: It's a bit early for me, but I think I will have those tests when the time comes. The AFP (alpha fetal protein, I think) is the blood test that can give false positives. Then there's the CVS, which they do around 12 weeks and they take a little sample of fetal tissue or the placenta or something and can tell all kinds of things, very accurate. Then of course, there's the amnio, which you probably wouldn't need if you did CVS...I'm going to because I am 35. I did get rid of my old clothes! Eek!

MrsSarah: Glad your results were fine. Whew!

Tigerlily: Those brownies sound amazing!

Okay sorry the link didn't work...

I'm going to try this again....

http://www.walmart.com/agt/bounce.gs...%40yahoo%2Ecom

I hope this works....

Sorry but not much time to chat.....ALexia is hungry...

This breastfeeding is really great...I weighed in this morning down to 157.... I have 17 more pounds to my pre-pregnancy weight and 27 pounds to my goal weight of 130...... I am not doing Atkins as I don't want it to interfere w/ my milk supply...but I do nurse Lexie every 2-3 hours and at night I am pumping...she slept 5 straight hours last night.....OH I needed it...my DH is taking finals this week so I have decided to "watch" her all week and I am drained.....

Take care

Cynthia

Good morning Mommies!

I feel a little tired this morning. DS was sleeping with us last night and he is such a little rollie pollie that we didn't get a good night's rest. He's back in his crib tonight though. I'm fixing up his new bedroom. We're going to keep the nursery as it is for the new baby and make DS' room a sports theme. He is going to be 2 in September so DH and I have to paint, get the furniture and get his room ready by then. I'm going to have him sleep in there from when he is two. That'll be his "big boy" room. I told DH that he'll have to sleep with DS for a week or so in his bed so to get him used to sleeping in his own bed and not the crib. Its a regular full sized bed. Plus, I wouldn't mind having the bed all to myself So, for all you moms that already have kids, when you transitioned your babies to beds from cribs, did you put that rail thing on the bed that you can attach or did you not use those?

Jen, the chart looks great. The colors are so cute. I am 7 weeks pg. As for tests, I remember getting tons of blood tests done to check for any diseases, etc. I opted not to take the test for Downs Syndrome. Besides the glucose one, that's the only one I remember.

Welcome Kelley. I don't have any morning sickness and didn't when I was pregnant with DS either. As for no appetitie, wish I had that problem. I'm trying to control what I eat so I don't gain 45 lbs again with this pregnancy.

Kristen, what theme are you doing Jessica's room?

Liz, congratulations. I'm trying to eat lower carb but drinking milk and lots of fruits. The occassional junk food does slip into my mouth though.

Wendy, when I took the glucose test, mine was a cola flavor. That wasn't bad tasting at all. It kind of tasted like Dr. Pepper. The lab where I took this test though, made me sit there and I couldn't leave after I drank the drink. Make sure to bring a good book.

Tigerlilly, I heard that breastfeeding does help in losing weight. I'm definitely going to try breastfeeding for longer this time. I only breastfed a week last time because I wasn't expressing enough milk and thought my supply was low. Little did I know that you had to keep at it to get more milk to come. I know better this time around.

Cynthia, Alexia is so cute. How old is she now? She's sleeping five hours thats great. Makes such a huge difference doesn't it? DS didn't sleep through the night until he was six months old.

Be back later babes.

Viki-

Last night was Jessica first night in her "big" girl bed- We also got her a full size but she still fell out of it one time. I had pillows linning the floor so she didn't get hurt but I am going to go this weekend and buy the rails. She is just too much of a mover to not get them. She was all over her bed last night. It was my husbands day to watch her today so when I left she was still asleep and she had her foot on the head board and she was facing the bottom of her bed- LOL!!

We really didn't have a theme - it is a very girly room. We painted the walls a sage green and her bedroom suit is pink - it is very bright but I am happy how it turned out. A sports theme would be fun for a little boy- Like Angela's nursery for her son is so cute!

Thanks for all your kind comments...

Viki- she is almost 2 weeks old tomorrow....CONGRATS AND WELCOME ABOARD

Mrs. Sarah- isn't it the greatest thing when you get that first sight of a prego belly...after that I felt huge...LOL

Kar- I didn't want any pics of me either..my DH videotaped the whole things so it was kind of hard...there were snaps going off from my Mom and MIL. I didn't get the test because I'm 27 and I didn't see any need plus I'm a worry wart and if it came back positive I would worry even though I know they are wrong alot...plus if my baby did have Down Syndrome I would have still kept her so no need for the test for me.....

Kristen- I cant wait to see those pics of DH new room.

Madame- CONGRATULATIONS AND WELCOME!!!!!!!!

Tiger- CONGRATULATION on the weight lose..I hope I do just as well... are you doing Atkins while BF..???? I would like some input on this area...
