I hope nobody minds that I started the thread. I am up early this morning (not by choice...had to ride to work with DH) and obviously a little bored. I randomly picked colors. I hope no one minds.

TGIF!!! Anyone doing anything exciting this weekend?

Trish?? Have you met your baby yet?

LOL, I spoke too soon about the morning sickness. I kind of had a rich breakfast yesterday (celery and pb) and then after I got out of the shower I got really queesy feeling and tried to throw up. But the weird thing is, is that it came on me really fast and left really fast too. Is that normal? The good news is that I don't have heartburn today...but I don't think I'll be able to stomach peanut butter again for a long time.

Good Morning Jen, great job with the colors, wish I could figure out how to do that!

Hi Amy, welcome to the wonderful world of M/S! Chicken was one of the foods that made me really nauseous for the first 16 weeks and I still can't even stand the thought of it.

My foot finally feels better so I am off to do my 10 K walk. Wish me luck! If that fails, I'll have to try for a 2 K swim in the afternoon. Rumor has it that the pica-pica are gone. But that's what they told me last time I went swimming and came back with it all over my body.

Trish, hope you are busy enjoying motherhood and that Bradley is enjoying his new world.

Hasta mas a rato,

Suzanne

Type [color=blue] before the text that you want to be colored. At the end of the text, type [/colr] (spell color correctly) to cancel it. Yes, I misspelled color on purpose or you would just see blue text.

If you want to copy colors from this mornings list for another day, just go to this morning's post and choose quote at the bottom. Copy the text and then hit the back button. Open your new post and paste it in. Remove the quote and bold formatting. The color formatting should stay.

Morning ladies-

Trish- I hope your holding your sweet baby by now and just haven't told us yet! LOL

Sara- sorry bout your pooch I hate when my little baby is sick.

Amy- sorry you are sick. Shouldn't last too long hopefully.

Suzanne- you are quite active! Saw your belly pic. Wanted to throw up You look awesome! I wasn't that small before I got pregnant!

Lauren- how's mommyhood?

Well, my doctor explained the due date thing to me yesterday, I ovulated and conceived a little late last September, which threw me off a little. I am now due the 20th so whoever changes the stats on monday, leave me at 38 weeks for another week

Yesterday I was 2 CM, 75% effaced and baby was at #2 station. All good news. She stripped the membranes and I had mild contractions all night, not regular though. Today I am at work and am passing a lot of (TMI WARNING) mucous and some blood. Hope we have some good news this weekend!

Hi to all that follow, I will BBL,

Tracy

Good luck Tracy! Hope it's soon!!!!

I am blessedly off today and hoping to get in a few naps. I'm so tired lately! That combined with being nervous about this baby is making me very emotional and edgy. Need sleep!!!

Good Morning!

Jen: GREAT job We really don't have assigned people to open the thread - basically who ever is up gets it

Amy: I found that I needed to eat a carb/protein combo first thing in the morning or else I would get sick.... you might want to try that instead of strictly protein Hope you feel better!

Suzanne: ooooh I hope those little jellies are gone! Swimming sounds so much more fun and relaxing in a non-exercising way LOL

Morning Kristen!!

Tracy: Well that sucks about the edd! At least she stripped the membranes - - - sending you LABOR VIBES.... :::come on out little Katie your Mama is DONE:::

Ellen: I hope you get that rest - sometimes I am really hormonal/emotional when I haven't had enough. Except for last night - I was definitely hormonal without a reason LOL..... oh well I guess pregnancy counts as a reason! Hope you feel better soon!

Nothing going on - I was going to run out to babies-r-us and pick up a carseat since they are having a sale but I just feel TOTALLY unmotivated to do it well TOMORROW is another day

Hi Ladies,

Tracy, good luck! Hope this is it!

Ellen, have a good nap for me. I can't sleep during the day time for some reason.

Hi Kristen!

Angela, it sounds like you aren't on bed rest anymore. Or are you? You sure are having a lot of fun for somebody on BR...LOL

I may as well have asked somebody to beat me with a stick as go for a walk. Usually, I can do 10 K in an 1 hour 15 minutes. Today I did about 7 K in the same time. My whole body hurt as if I hadn't been walking in 2 years instead of 2 weeks. Yesterday I did the elliptical trainer for 30 minutes and I was swimming in pools the whole time we were on the road trip. Can't figure out how I got so out of shape so fast. See why I have to work so hard at my age? When do we start getting the stretchy ligaments from pregnancy hormones? It feels like my pelvis is about to split apart.

Mrs Sarah - I hope your poochie feels better. I feel so bad when pets get sick because they can't tell me what's wrong.

Jen - Hi!

Amy - Sorry to hear about your ms!

Suzanne - How weird, chicken was the only meat I could eat when I had ms. Now, I don't even want to see chicken! Boy, you're so active! I made excuses to skip excercise, and now, it's down to almost nothing. I regret it because I gained 35 lbs at 33w. Now, my belly is so heavy that it's uncomfortable to walk too long. You don't have that problem! I'm jealous!

Kristen - Good morning!

Tracy - Wow! You're showing progress!! Good luck!

Ellen - Get some rest!

Angela - They're having a sale? Must go there!

OK, this is really embarassing, but here's my big-ol belly pic at 32w!

And here's my cat in a bassinet. This is the cat that had surgery (pic taken before surgery).

HI Everyone -

Not too much going on here! Just trying to stay cool in the 100 degree weather we have been in for the last week! WooHoo we are supposed to get in the 90's next week

Woke up early and did the 1 mile Walk Away the Pounds tape! I actually enjoy walking outside better, so I think I will just have to wake up earlier so I can at least walk when it isn't too hot.

We have decided to go to CA for the weekend. There are two b-day parties for DH's neices, one is 5 and the other is 3. Madison is so excited to go the parties. The 5 yr old is having a carnival party and the 3 yr old is having a party at Goofy's Kitchen (next to Disneyland). Should be a fun weekend, except for the 3 1/2 hour drive.

FluffiB - Your belly picture is great! You look awesome! I guess I will have to get up enough nerves to post my one day! How is the kitty doing today??

Jen - Thanks for starting us up! How you feeling today!

Amy - Hopefully your m/s won't get too much worse. I would definitely have a little bit of carbs in the morning to help with it. I normally had a piece of lc bread toasted and it helped!

Angel - I need to get to Babys-R-Us as well. We need a new car seat for the little one. I think I may go on-line and look at babys-r-us!

Thininmex - Hope the Pica Pica are gone so you can go swimming instead of walking!

BabyBlue - Hi There!!!

Tracy = Hope this is your weekend to meet Katie.

Teach2live - Enjoy your day today!

Talk with you later!

Wendy

Tracy- Looks like you are progressing nicely.

Ellen- I am so jealous. I would love to take a nap!

Angela- Hope you get motivated to go shopping!

Suzanne- Sorry your whole body aches- I am going to try to go for a walk at lunch!

Katie- How cute you look- You kitty is big and beautiful!

Wendy- How fun in CA for the weekend. I am sure Madison will have a good time at the parties. I actually have a weekend with no bday parties - YAHHH!! Next weekend will be my Aunts and Uncles (twins) my godson's and my cousins. Then the following weekend will be Shawn's- plus fathers day. June is almost as bad as May. At least I only got invited to one graduation party. My mom got invited to 5- UGH!

Morning ladies!!

My pooch is still looking a bit ragged, but he did look a bit better this morning. I talked to my mom about him and she said that a vet told her to feed sick dogs a combo of hamburger (rinsed of grease) and white rice for a couple of days. She said it's always worked for her. So, I may have to make him a special dinner.

As for me, I'm feeling pretty good. My belly is already feeling stretchy. I wonder when I'll start showing? I have lots of extra "fluff", so it could be awhile. LOL.

My DH Mason is so sweet! He told me last night that he got us a doppler from babybeat.com and it should be delivered TODAY! I had no idea he was doing this and I'm SO excited!!! Now I can listen and feel that reassurance...

Jen: Thanks for starting the thread! The colors look GREAT!

Amy: Welcome to m/s! I'm sorry you are experiencing it. I never really had any food aversions, other than to sweets at first. No one food set me off. I had a yucky feeling for most of the day but only got sick on about 8 - 10 occasions. The nausea has worn off, but now I have coughed twice and just thrown up. I didn't feel sick at all, it just triggered puking. That is a new one for me.

Suzanne: My gosh, you are so active! No wonder you look so fantastic!!!

Kristen: I'm not sure how our dogs will react. They are definitely our babies, so I imagine some jealousy will happen. We have some friends that have a baby and they bring her over a lot. We let the dogs out to check her out and they are always really good. They get really excited, but they are very gentle. I think it will definitely take some adjustment for them, but I think it should be okay... hopefully.

Tracy: Even though they have moved your due date, it doesn't sound like you'll make it that far! You've got major progress!!

Teach: Take a nap for me too, would ya?

Angela: Have fun at Babies R Us! I love that store! What kind of sale are they having???

Katie: I love your belly pic! You look adorable!! And the kitty pic cracked me up! Animals are so funny!!

Wari: It's been in the 90's here this week... YUCK!! I HATE hot weather. Great job on doing your tape! I have that set too... it's awesome! Of course, I haven't touched them since I got PG...

Glad to see more of ya made it in this morning! I was awfully lonely this morning.

No problem on starting the thread. I'd like to say I will do it more often, but honestly I am only up in the morning when I HAVE to be. Some other threads start their new daily thread at midnight, but I am usually not awake. And if I am, starting a thread is not what is usually on my mind .

Sarah: I hope your dog perks up. I have a big 115 lb shepherd-mastiff baby who is about 5 - 6 years old. that all goes well with him and the baby. I can't stand the thought of having to find him another home. We rescued him from the Humane Society and he is a great dog.

Wendy~I feel your pain on the weather. Last week the highs here were upper 90s. So I couldn't walk the dog and the heat just zapped my energy. We have a reprieve this week and have had late afternoon thunderstorms everyday. Still can't walk the dog, but at least the temp is cooler. I actually feel better today, even though I woke up early. I still had the headache and backache upon waking up, but the diminished quickly. Have fun in CA.

Amy~I only had two bouts of MS leading to throwing up. I was queasy for a few weeks straight. I hope you don't have it too often.

Tracy~I really don't think you'll be another two weeks. Wishing for the best.

Fluffi~HI back at ya!! I don't think your belly looks that big at all! It's cute.

Hi to everyone else! I've gotta to get back to work soon. They do pay me working!

Good Morning Ladies -

Trish - Here's hoping you're through the toughest part and have had your baby by now! Please post when you can.

Tracy - Good luck. This weekend could be it for you. Wow!!! BTW, what exactly is "stripping the membranes"? Is it the same thing as breaking your water?

Wendi and Suzanne - You guys are starting to inspire me to exercise. I belong to a club at which I could be doing all sorts of good things (elliptical trainer, yoga, swimming laps, water-aerobics, lights weights for my arms and legs), but am I doing any of it yet? M/S is no longer an excuse. And BTW, Suzanne, are you sure you're actually pregnant (hey hey)?

Fluffi - Love the picture. You look great! How do you feel?

Karatejen - thanks for the instructions on starting the thread. Can we have that made into a sticky so whoever is up first can refer to it?

Amy - most people have one or two foods that just absolutely send them over the edge for a few weeks. Some days I just had a few waves of nausea, others, it was a constant. Mine lasted from about week 5 until about week 14. With my first, it was from week 7 until week 15.

Angela - I know what you mean about lacking in the motivation department. I actually just fed my 4 & 5 year old boys chips and salsa for lunch because I couldn't bring myself to go the grocery store this morning (they're in heaven).

Last day of school yesterday. Have a 6 year old's birthday party to go to later today. DH is coming home from a business trip tonight. It'll be great to see him (he's only been gone 2 days, how pathetic am I)?

Later gators, hope evry one is well.

Suzanne: Still on modified bedrest (3hrs down in am & 3hrs down in pm) BUT..... I have this "theory" if I am really really good for the week I can go out for an hour or so Of course I don't know if that is what my dr had in mind - with my good appts lately I don't see how its hurting

Katie: Your belly is cute and round! Mine is right around the same size and I am 2wks behind you

Kristen: Pretty sad when you have to get motivated to go shopping LOL Just not like me at all....

Oh the BRU sale - I received a flyer in the mail with coupons, they might have the flyers in the store as well. Its $10 off a carseat priced $40 or more.... and there are some other coupons for the larger items I just can't remember what. I want the Graco SnugRide in Blackwell - I have heard really good things regarding safety on these carseats and consumer reports ranks them really high. Has anyone else have in opinions in regards to carseats??

I do a lot of my shopping online (especially with free shipping) I bought a takealong swing and a fisher price bouncer (papasan) at Baby Center a couple of weeks ago each $40 with free shipping. They were having a sale and then they had an additional % off when you bought so much plus the free shipping. I was very happy - there prices are cheaper than BRU and if you can get stuff when they have the free shipping you can save a good bit ..... That is Angela's shopping tip of the week LOL

Wendy, have fun in CA! A 3 1/2 hour drive is nothing; that's just a quick trip to the super market for me. Don't you have dry heat in Vegas? When I went out at 6:30 this morning, it was about 85 with 85 percent humidity.

Katie, you look great! Hope kitty is doing better.

Lizzy, chips and salsa for lunch sounds delicious. I have salsa but no chips...

Sarah, glad to hear your pooch is picking up.

Jen, I have always wanted a mastiff, just let me know if you need a good home for yours. We almost got a 9 m.o. purebred mastiff in the US last fall, but the owner said the dog was expected to max out at 270 lbs. DH weighed 260 at the time and said he didn't think we should get a dog that was bigger than himself...LOL...Now he's LCed his way down to 220 so I'll have to look at smaller breeds.

Lizzy: Oh yeah the kids do need to eat lunch don't they I just noticed that its 12:45 here...... geez!!!! Guess it will be PB&J for them LOL.

I have actually been working in the nursery today so all is not a loss with me - definitely made some progress. The hold up is all these football helmets in the border that Mike just HAD TO HAVE!!!! They are so detailed I can only do a few a time before going nuts - I am happy to say 1 wall is just about complete (finishing up the last helmet) and I only have 1 other long wall so once that is complete things should go QUICK

Stripping Membranes is when you are dialated and the dr/mw will sweep their finger around separating the bag of waters from the cervix floor. This is believed to stir up the prostaglandins and kick you into labor. It works for some women - unfortunately with mine during my last pregnancy it did start ctx but they fizzled out Hoping it works for Tracy

Angela - ah, thanks for the explanation. So if I understand it correctly, it's just detaching the membrane, not breaking it or perforating it so that the amniotic fluid comes out?

Right! Bag of Waters stays intact. I believe the thought process is if your body is ready the stripping will send a fake signal to start contractions. For me it was not a pleasant experience, but some ladies say they don't feel a thing when they do it.

DH weighed 260 at the time and said he didn't think we should get a dog that was bigger than himself...LOL...Now he's LCed his way down to 220 so I'll have to look at smaller breeds.
Well, ours is a mix breed so he isn't nearly as big as 270lbs, thank goodness. He is very calm, but that is probably because he is an older dog. I wanted a big dog so I could walk him after dark and not worry about being bothered.

Have you looked into a mixed breed or a pound puppy? They are usually so happy to have a home that they make the best dogs!

Here is a pic of "our family" taken Nov 2002.

Here is another of Brutus and DH.

Babyblue - Wow, a weekend you don't have anything planned. Sounds like you should have a relaxing weekend!

Mrs. Sarah - How sweet of Mason to get the doppler. Hope your dog is feeling better! I do like the tapes and you really do feel it. Do you have the one with the weighted balls??

LizzyD - Suzanne should be the one that gets you motivated to walk. I just started yesterday per my dr. request. I really should have been exercising all along and eating better. If I had I wouldn't be at a 30lb weight gain

Angel - I will have to take a look at that carseat! Thanks for the shopping tips!

Thininmex - I would die if we had the humidity! Thank goodness that yes we are a dry heat. Last night the wind was blowing a bit, so I stepped out in the backyard and it felt like I walked into a blow dryer - blech!

Trisha - Thinking of all of you! Hope you can post soon and let us know how everything went!
