Morning Everyone,
Just another update... After Jason, my mother, mother in law, and I waited around for about 5 hours they finally came and told us "We're sorry, but we got really busy so we talked to your doctor and we'll be waiting till tomorrow morning to induce you." Nope, they wouldn't give me any idea of a time. So they've had me up and ready to go since 6AM so now Jason and I are sitting around WAITING again. I told both my mother and MIL that I'd call them as soon as they decided to transfer me. Lauren: I still can't see the pics you've posted ![]() Sin: Emily looks precious ![]() Thanks again for all of your thoughts and prayers!!!

Morning Mommies,
Trish, I'm thinking about you and little Brad, hope everyone is doing fine. Genfire, sorry I didn't add you to the delivered list yesterday. What's your little angle's name? Hi Lizzy! I wish low carb helped my acid indigestion but I get it even if I only drink water. Go figure. Can somebody tell me how you get colors when you open this thread? I've been fooling around with it since 5:30 AM and still can't get colors! I'd ask DH, the computer genius, but he's busy playing Never Winter Nights.... Yesterday and all last night we had lots of wind and squalls. About 4 PM, DH and Max went outside to play only to find my laundry had escaped and half of it was in the jungle behind our house. Guess you can imagine what I'll be doing today. DH got up at 4:30 AM to make sure the boats weren't sinking and he accidentally woke me up. So here we are twiddling our thumbs waiting for it to get light enough outside to do something constructive. So wake up Mommies and come talk to me! Hope everybody is doing great today! Saludos, Suzanne |

Hi Trish, we posted at the same time. You must be going crazy! I guess it isn't that much of a priority for you to deliver right away if they can leave you hanging like that! Take care, I'll be thinking of you all day. {{{{Hugs}}}}

Funny, you mentioned indigestion. I NEVER get indigestion and I've had it for the last 3 days.
I guess I now know why. As for a approximate due time I should find out at my first doctor's apt. June 15th. Since I ovulated about 2 1/2 weeks ago it will probably be late January I'm guessing. Also, I've been having some strange cramps the last few days too. I chalked it up to TOM coming, but now that I know he not I'm wondering what it is? I've put on about 2-3 pounds in just the last two weeks and my pants are getting snug . I can't believe how out of control my hunger has been. I'm almost hoping for a little morning sickness or aversions to tame the hunger. ![]() Boy, this is going to be an interesting road ahead. I feel like I know nothing even though I've been reading and reading as much as I can. I might go take a walk this morning as it is just beautiful out and I think I'm going to retire my FIRM tapes for a while. I think I might get a few pregnancy videos for stretching and strength and walk when it's nice for my cardio. Well, I guess that is all for now. Amy

Good morning everyone!
Amy~my hunger seemed out of control in the first several weeks. I would get so hungry it would actually hurt if I didn't eat every few hours. Thankfully it calmed down after about a month or so. Suz~you wow me by being up so early. I know I will have to change, but right now I have such a hard time getting up in the morning. Trish~ ![]() |

Amy, you'll wish you never said that about M/S. Unless you are one of the lucky few who doesn't get it.
Jen, sorry I forgot to add you to the list. That's what happens when I wake up too early! |

good morning ladies.. or afternoon even, depending on where you are.
Well I started poking my finger today, not so bad And was told bananas And grapes were totally off limits, but watermellon is not? The GI levels in bananas are 55 and watermellon is 103! So I am a little confused. No one told me what my blood levels are supposed to be an hour after eating. So if anyone has a clue, please post and shed some light Off to research some more ![]() |

Hi!
Still here and still bored! Yesterday afternoon/evening the 2nd shift staff let me walk around since the reason I was on bedrest was to avoid preterm labor. This morning they won't let me walk, eat, or drink! UGH! This is why you should go into labor at home. I am having contractions... looks like they are about 6-8 min apart right now. Wouldn't that be nice if I'd just go into labor on my own! Suzanne: Yuck! Doesn't sound like a fun chore to do today. Amy: You deffinately don't want MS! Take it from one who had it bad... its not worth it, even to keep off a few pounds. Red: Good luck getting that blood sugar under control! |

Good morning!
Trish - I am so sorry to hear you have to wait! There's nothing worse than being so nervous and anxious, only to wait around some more... Good luck to you and Bradley!!! Suzanne - I think this is how you do colors. You select the color from the top where the other options are like font, size, etc, then type in the text in a popup box. Or you can manually type in the color tag [ COLOR=seagreen] type your text [ /COLOR], without the space after the left bracket. You'll have to figure out the exact spelling of the color by selecting the color from the top of the list and activate it in your text. A bit PITA... As for acid reflux, I've been taking Tums too because of extra calcium. I only eat 1 because some days, I need it several times a day. It went away for a while in the 2nd tri, but it came back. Amy - CONGRATULATIONS! Welcome to the wonderful world of pregnancy! It's normal to cramp during the 1st tri. I had mild cramping off and on until about 12w. As long as it's not severe or accompanied by bleeding, you should be OK! I think it's just your uterus expanding.Jen - CONGRATS to you too! Chris - Sorry about your GD. I don't have an answer on the glucose level. I have a book about GI and GL (glycemic load). Bananas have 13 GL, watermelon 4. GL is based on per serving. It's calculated by taking GI value x carbs per serving / 100. As long as you don't eat a whole watermelon wedge like I do, you should be OK! The book is called The New Glucose Revolution. There are some interesting stuff in here. I'm sure there are other books for diabetics that are helpful, too. HTH! I found out yesterday that my poor kitty has a tumor on his thigh . He's going in today to get it removed. I hope it turns out to be nothing... At least it's taking my mind off other things.

Wow you guys are chatty for so early in the morning!!
Trish- Man I am sorry you have to wait- how frustrating! Suzanne- I am one of the lucky ones who has never had acid indigestion- Sorry you have to go get all your clothes out of the jungle. Amy- I have to agree with Suzanne- you do not want to wish m/s on yourself. I had it with Jessica and it was horrible. This time I lucked out and never had it. Hi Jenn and Chris. Katie- for your kitty- Hope it is nothing! Not much going on her. I got to see my cousin's baby last night and it got me excited that I will be having a new baby. They do not stay in the baby stage long- Jessica is like a little grown up! Kristen

The laundry is a disaster, it's all got sand totally imbedded in it and pine needles stuck all over. It's going to take me all day to get it clean again.
Here's my belly at 25 weeks with 21 lbs gained. Eric says he should take a photo at night because I look more pregnant. Someday I'm going to have a belly! ![]() |

Trish: WOW they are really testing your patience!!! Are you bouncing off the walls? Can't believe they won't let you do anything to get the nervous energy out! I will be thinking of you today
Suzanne: I can't believe you were up so early either!! Getting up that early for me would call for a nap today Amy: I was extremely crampy with my 1st pregnancy - can't remember what the dr told me was the cause other than "that is normal during pregnancy"...... Oh that is a phrase you should get used to hearing from you dr - you WILL want to strangle him/her before this is all over LOL Jen: Good Morning to you!!! Chris: Not sure about the levels. You know I was always told melons and berries were ok - bananas, oranges, grapes and apples were not. Melons really help out with the swelling as well as strawberries. I must admit I am a strawberry-a-holic lately. Katie: I hope your kitty does well today Kristen: I think seeing Erin after delivering Maggie was one of the biggest shocks to me! It was so overwhelming realizing my 1st baby wasn't a baby anymore and she was so HUGE. It was a really strange thing to go through. Well - I had EXTREME tummy problems last night. Seems like I was in the bathroom FOREVER (sorry TMI) then afterwards I had some MAJOR contractions.... needless to say I didn't get much sleep and now my back and tummy are sore not to mention the nausa (sp?) I am feeling this morning. I ate a small muffin hoping I would feel better - nope, just worse. I would say I picked up a bug but I haven't been ANYWHERE and the girls are fine. Just another thing to bring up at the dr's appt later..... sigh.... they are really going to love me today LOL. At least I didn't have to go in BEFORE my scheduled appt this time, I think its the first time this pregnancy I actually made it to a regular appt. Oh well....

Good morning!! This has been a super busy week, but hopefully it'll calm down now! Today is dd's last day of school, and a long summer ahead for us all!
Thin, I cannot believe how THIN you are! Amazing. I'm about the same place you are (24.5 weeks and gained 24 lbs.) but I am huge in comparison! Congrats to those who've had their babies recently! I haven't been on here as much because I've been so crazed with the last weeks of school. |

Morning!
Well... here's recap of my appt yesterday: It was GOOD and bad. First, let's start with the good. GOOD: I lost weight, and the doctor said I was kicking butt in that department! That made me happy. Then, he got out the doppler and found the heartbeat right away. Still fast and nice and strong. He said it sounded really, really good. I have my big u/s next appt and I can't wait! It's scheduled for July 1 first thing in the morning. BAD: He did some more looking into why I have blood clots. He found the reason. I know that I told you guys about me being hospitalized 2 years ago for getting blood clots in my lungs. He pulled up all of my test records from that. He said that the reason I clot is actually a genentic mutation in one of my clotting factors in my blood. I have good clotting factors, but bad un-clotting factors. So, basically I can make clots all day, but my body won't break them up. He said we need to determine whether it's homozygous (affecting both chromosomes) or heterozygous (just affecting one chromosome). If it's homozygous then I will have to be on blood thinners the rest of my life. Also, I will pass it onto the baby. If it's heterozygous, I won't have to be on blood thinners forever, but I may (50% chance) pass it onto the baby. The worse thing about the BAD part is that my doctor (different doctor) NEVER TOLD ME ABOUT THIS after my stay in the hospital. Had I not become pregnant, I would have never known. This makes me SO angry. I'm pissed beyond words. He said we would need to do extra u/s's at the end to make sure that the placenta looked okay. He said we have to check and make sure it isn't getting any clots on it. Back in a sec for personals... |

Sarah:
how stressful! My grandmother is on blood thinners b/c of bloodclots (strokes run in our family) - I forget which one though - she also has to limit her Vitamin K intake (green leafy veggies mainly). Did the dr bring up the fact that clotting disorders also increase your risk of pre-eclampsia? Just thought I would bring that up from ALL my research lately - just make yourself aware of the symptoms b/c it can be quick onset (I know I am being mother hen again )Kristen: I hate having to do something when my mind is just not into it!!! Ellen: I know you are looking forward to the summer break!! |

Trish: I'm so sorry you are playing the waiting game. I know how much I hate that, and I can't imagine doing it in your situation. I would rip my hair out!! You are in my prayers and I hope everything goes smoothly today.
Suzanne: I am so jealous!!! I would kill to look like you when I'm not pregnant. You look FABULOUS!!!!! Amy: I had severe cramping when I first became pregnant. I was sure it would lead to miscarriage or something, but everyone here assured me it is totally NORMAL. Your body is just stretching to accomodate that little bean! ![]() Jen: Morning! Chris: I hope you figure out what to eat. That would be really hard! The watermelon think doesn't make sense to me either... , it's pretty sugary! Good luck on the finger poking. I know how much it sucks to have to poke yourself everyday. Katie: I'm sorry about your poor kitty. I hope he does okay today!! Kristen: Seeing babies makes me so excited too! I just can't wait!! Angela: I'm sorry you're feeling crumby today... feel better!! |

Hi Everyone -
Well I bit the bullet and went for a 2 mile walk this morning! It was already 82 at 6am. I am going to try and wake up a little earlier tomorrow and hope it is a bit cooler! I took a 20oz bottle of cold water with me and finished it. I have to admit it did feel good to get out and walk! On the eating side, I did really well yesterday! I avoided caving into the ice cream and brownies that were shouting my name, and had a green apple instead! Trisha - Sorry you didn't get induced yesterday! Thinking of you, Jason and little Bradley! Good luck today! So glad your Mom and MIL are there with you! Thininmex - Oh my goodnees, just another reason I don't want to show my big ol preggo tummy! You look awesome! What you look like now is what I would like to look like after! Mrs. Sarah - I would be pissed off too! I can't believe the other dr. didn't say anything! So glad you have a good doctor for this pregnancy!! Angelhope - Hope your tummy and back are feeling better today! Did you eat something that didn't settle very well with you?? FluffiB - Sorry to hear about your kitty! Hope everything is ok. How have you been feeling lately! AMy - Don't wish M/S upon yourself! I had it until the 14th week and it was horrible! I have certainly made up for it in the last 13 weeks .Jen - During my 1st trimester I had a hard time waking up, but my 5 yr old was certainly there to make sure I woke up Babyblue - I hear you on seeing other babies and wanting my little one to get here soon! I am so anxious for the next 13 weeks to go by quickly! Teach2live - Hopefully everything will be a little calmer for you over the next couple of months! Redjewel - Hi There! Not sure about the numbers after eating! I go for my glucose test next week, and I am hoping that I pass! Talk with you later! Wendy |

Gah I hope I look as good as you when I have a full body lift!Sarah- Here is hoping you have the best outcome with your clot issues, and not passing it on to the baby! Angela- What does your dr say about the contractions?Actually the finger poking was not all that bad, it was only the firt one..so far, and more of a suprise then anything. Ask me again in a week..lol |

Sarah: I also hope you won't have to deal with it - normally PE symptoms start showing up the end of your 2nd trimester into your 3rd. You have enough to deal with without worrying about that!!
Wendy: Great job on the walk!!! Since I have been such a lump on a log I doubt if I could walk to the end of my driveway and back without being exhausted. I don't know why the tummy problems started - I felt fine going to bed then WHAM it hit severe. I just give up. Still not feeling up to par but this will pass. Chris: Going to the dr this afternoon around 2pm - so we shall she what she says. I don't mind some to prepare my body but these things can get really ridiculous sometimes. I hated pricking my own finger - I would jump a mile high everytime even though I knew it was coming LOL Your little fingers are going to be so sore ![]() |

Thanks Ladies, thousands and thousands of sit ups between pregnancies, plus this woe, really helped my belly. I wish I could say the same for my butt and thighs, which is where the extra 21 lbs are hiding.
{{{{{Sarah}}}}} I hope it is heterozygous or that at the least they are able to keep it under control. I would be really mad, too, if my doctor witheld something that important. |

My doctor and nurse have told me that caffeine equal to or less than 2 cups of coffee/per day are fine when I am pregnant. Has anyone else been told this? I just still feel guilty when I have a little (even though it is no where close to the amount in 2 cups of coffee). But some mornings, it seems to be the only thing that helps the headaches I am getting more often. Anbody else get an increase in headaches in the second trimester? Suzanne~ |
