{{{{{{Trish}}}}}} I am so sorry you are having to spend you last weeks in the hospital! Is there any chance you'll get to go home?
{{{{{Chris}}}}}} Sorry to hear about your GD! At least you already know how to do a low carb diet really well! Last I heard you hadn't gained very much weight but I guess that has nothing to do with GD. Wari, I just passed the +20 lbs mark. Last pregnancy I hadn't even gained 10 lbs at this point (but I started 38 lbs heavier). Guess I better start LCing again, too.... Genfire, here's how I post my photos: First, open a free account at www.photoisland.com. Second, start a photo album and upload your photos. Once they are on line, click on the photo you want to post to enlarge it. At the bottom left hand corner of the screen, you'll see different options. Select "Link to Auction". Copy that link. Come back to this thread, select IMG from the menu bar, paste your auction link in the box, and your photo should show up. I needed a lot of help to figure this out! Good morning to all the mommies who follow! Suzanne |

Good Morning Everyone from the lovely view of my hospital bed
So here is the story of how I ended up HERE again! Last Thursday afternoon I went in for my dr. apt and we had a non-reactive NST (the stubborn boy slept the ENTIRE time we were at the office). So my Dr. sent me to the hospital for an ultrasound and said if the Biophysical profile came back with 8/8 I could go home. Well, they gave him an 8/8, BUT the ultrasound tech called the high-risk doc in because my amniotic fluid levels went from 13 to 8.6 in one week and they saw very little growth in one week which was putting him just around the 10th percentile. So now they are adding possible IUGR to the list of problems. The high risk doc consulted with my doc and reccomended I stay 2 days for monitoring to make sure the baby was ok. Well, those 2 days turned into "You'll probably be here the duration of your pregnancy." All of the NST strips they run (every shift) have come back looking good, but they still want me here for monitoring. I had another ultrasound done yesterday and the amniotic fluid levels wiere the same and there had been some growth, but not enough to take him out of the 10th percentile. I'm supposed to get to the high risk doc soon and find out what his reccomendation is at this point. My doc said yesterday she thinks he will probably reccomend an amnio next week (I'll be 36 weeks then) to see if the lungs are mature. What I don't understand is that the amnio has several risk factors from what I understand. One is they could break my water and I'd have to deliver ASAP, another is they could accidentally get the baby or the baby could move and run into the needle etc. in which case they'd have to do an emergency c-section. I don't know if I remember any of the other risks... Anyways, they keep telling me that delivering at 36weeks most babies can function as well as full term infants at that point... so why run the risk and pain of the amnio if there is a low risk of delivering at 36 weeks anyhow? Its quite confusing to me... if anyone knows let me know.

Lauren and Cyn: CONGRATS! I'm so bummed I can't see the pictures that Lauren posted though
Maybe its the hospital internet connection... who knows. Red: So sorry to hear that you failed the GTT. Thats rough having to poke yourself all the time. Do they think you'll be able to control it ok with diet? Wendy: The weight gain is a bummer after watching it so much for so long... its probably good for me being in the hospital and not able to know how much I weigh! |

Chris: I am so sorry about the GD!!!! I am surprised you have it with the low weight gain!
Trish: You have been through the wringer these last few weeks (months actually)!! I have heard of the 2-vessel cord causing IUGR. Its great that his BPPs are coming back so great!!! As far as the amnio - I don't know the answer especially when they have given you the steriod shot. Erin was a 36wkr - she did have problems getting the fluid out of her lungs due to immaturity and it turned into pneumonia but she turned out fine after 5days in the NICU on antibotics. I am still praying for you and Bradley! I know you must be even MORE bored out of your mind there in the hospital - not to mention the wonderful food!!! It won't be long now though Morning Suzanne!

Angela: Thanks so much for the prayers. I actually had a LOT of visitors over the long weekend and Jason stayed with me overnight after the first night so it wasn't so terribly boring. Yesterday I worked alot as my boss is continuing to let me work. How much did Erin way when she was born? They are estimating from the ultrasound that Brad is onlyl about 4 pounds right now... but I know that they can be off by quite a bit.
Tracy: How are things with you? That baby should be coming pretty quickly! Katie: Your braxton hicks contractions were worrying me that you were having some many until I saw the follow up post that they weren't productive. That is good... I think with my next pregnancy I'll be ultra-paranoid about them since the contractions I had that put me into pre-term labor weren't at all painful or uncomfortable! Gen: Congrats on the arrival of Annabelle! ![]() GoJackets: Sorry to hear about your loss. I can't imagine the pain and dissapointment. |

I think I noticed on the weekend thread that someone mentioned they were having a hard time finding bras. Well, let me tell ya what... I understand! I have to normally order my bras because I can't find any in the stores. I typically where a 34G. I can still wear these but a 36H is really the best at this point. I ordered a 36I for the nursing bra
I didn't know they made bra's that big! The cups look like they'd hold basketballs! LOLAnyhow... the very best store I've been able to find and they are extreemly helpful if you can get there in person or if you call on the phone they can direct you to a good bra is called ann's bra shop that is based in St. Louis MO. http://www.brashop.com Hope that can help some of you... hopefully you don't have quite the problem I have! I was just happy they made a nursing bra in my size ![]() |

Trish: Glad everyone is keeping you entertained - you probably have never loved work so much LOL You really can't go by Erin's weight b/c she was the largest preemie seen in the NICU - she was 8lbs6oz. I thought - boy THOSE dates were off - but the NICU dr confirmed that with her lung development that her dates were correct. They did give her surfactant(sp?) shots as well after she was born to help her lungs but she never had to go on a respirator - she was on a nose thingy with room oxygen being pumped while she was in the early stages of pneumonia. Ever since she has NEVER had any educational delays (she is actually running ahead) and she was/is very rarely sick (I might have taken her to the ped 3 times in her 4yrs for sick appts). I know Brad will be perfectly FINE!!!

hello everyone.
genifire6~ congrats.
Weight gain. Hmm, I have gained 13 lbs my entire pregnancy. I really did think it was more because of the way my pants fit when I first got preggo. Doc wants me to gain at least 25 all together. Ack. It's not like I am a small person, ya know? Chris: That sucks about the gd. When do they usually give that test? I haven't heard anything about it even. 11ish more weeks! I am so excited! Our little Lump moves constantly! Dan will talk to her and she'll kick his face. Haha. How much more stuff can this baby get? We already have one room full of stuff. All we bought brand new was the stroller/carseat and the swing. Oh and cloth diapers. Everything else has been handed our way and now we're getting more stuff from a friend. (Toys, an exersaucer, one of those bouncy things that hangs from the door frame and more stuff) I still have my first baby shower on the 20th and then one again after the baby's born. Where will it all go? We live in a small place with no basement. :S Question about strollers What kind do you have or what kind do you plan on getting? I swear I am obsessed with strollers. What are the good things about it? Thanks.

Normally the give the gs test around 28 weeks. You will be surprised at how much crap you need for a baby- The stuff will take over your house and life- My stroller is okay- It was made by eddie baurer and I got it for a shower gift and the set broke after about a year of use.- I wouldn't go crazy on a Stroller- Once Jessica learned to walk she wanted nothing to do with it. As far as all the stuff - it is NEVER ENDING!!! I just bought Michael Jr a new take-along swing and a new fisher price papasan bouncy seat - I know we need to buy a new car seat.... and this is our 3rd baby and I am still buying stuff LOL I was even looking at the baby bjorn front carriers this morning trying to decide if I want to make do with my snuggli or splurge.... I am leaning towards splurging I have mastered the knack on cutting down on the "stuff" I take when we go out or on vacation - with Erin I think I brought almost everything with me LOL And as they get older you think you will be getting rid of stuff... you just don't realize there will be even more stuff to replace it ![]() |

Morning gals!!!
Cynthia - CONGRATS!! Can't wait for pictures!!!!!!!! Trisha - OMG, girl, you poor thing!! Thank goodness you at least have an internet connection, but still!!! You're in my thoughts and prayers and I hope everything goes smoothly if they deliver little Bradley early. Are you getting lots of visitors and stuff? Sarah - I'm totally sure your weight will go down some today. I had lots of 'eat like a hog' days and the scale fluctuated the next day, but leveled out after that! Kristen - WTG to Jessica!!! Fingers crossed that my Mackenzie does just as well at her upcoming recital!!! lapretty - You're getting there, girl!!! Yay!!! Tracy - Keep us posted, woman!!!!! You seem to be progressing so well on your own that there is no way you'll go to June 20th even if they decide to swap your day. And hey...nothing wrong with a small baby in my opinion - as long as she's healthy! I like 'em tiny...a lady I used to work with just delivered an 11 pounder. YIPES!!!!!!!! Thin - Regardless of your weight gain you look FANTASTIC!!! I started out at goal weight with this pregnancy and still gained a little more than I'd liked to, but when you start smaller I guess it's expected to gain a bit more. We're doing well here! My Mom is with us this week during the time that Dean is at work and that has helped a TON with Mackenzie! She is giving her a lot of attention and 'Granny time' so I'm able to deal with the baby and the house. It's super nice out today so maybe we'll go for a walk around the 'hood!! ...for your viewing pleasure... Forgive me, I look rough in this one!! Haha! ![]() ![]() |

Lauren- She is adorable- I hope you get to go for a walk and enjoy the nice day!
Sarah- I hate days like that when you can't seem to get satisfied. This pregnancy has been weird to me because it seems like my appetite has decreased instead of increased- Isn't that weird- Kristen |

Lauren: I'm sure it is hormones!
I think it would be so weird to have a baby in there for so long and then one day, it's just out. I bet it feels GOOOOOD though. ![]() Kristen: That's awesome! I had a decreased appetite for my first tri, but now... it's getting bigger and bigger... ![]() |

Okay, those pictures came out really small!! I'm gonna see if I can edit them. The great face shot is the one on the top right. Even small, you can clearly make out her cute little face.. even her lips and nose!!

Thanks everybody! I'm slowly getting the hang of pictures and editing and posting. It takes a little time though!!
My appetite has been huge lately!! The good new is that you can't eat as much as the baby gets bigger. You run out of room. Kendall is so gorgeous Lauren!! I'm glad you are settling in with the new baby. Sorry you failed the glucose-test Chris. I'm sure you'll be able to control it with you diet though. Poor Trish, I hope you aren't too bored. At least you haven't much longer to wait... hopefully!! I am confused about the amnio too. I really think doctors just follow protocol sometimes, without actually thinking things through. Does everybody end up doing a glucose-tolerance test? I was under the impression that you do the test only if the urine test is showing that you are leaking sugars. I could be wrong though. Hi Kristen and Angela!! Wendy, you were quite slim before the baby... I'm sure you're just going to be fine. Plus, I read in one of the baby books, a sign of gestational diabetes is weight loss as opposed to weight gain! According to Dr. Brewer, you can gain even fifty pounds on a healthy protein-rich diet, without worry of diabetes and you'll probably have a nice-sized healthy baby!! The same actually applies to you Suzanne. I saw pictures.. you are gorgous and healthy and in fabulous shape!! Nicole |

Hi ladies! I was just scanning through the posts and thought I would pop in and say hi. I am soooo busy at work! I shouldn't be playing I guess.
Lauren- she is the prettiest little baby I have ever seen! Is pappa proud or what??? Thank God mom is helping eh? My MIL is taking our girls for a week and my mom is staying with me for a week. Can't wait! 11 more days! Im sorry I can't address everyone today Hope you are all feeling well.I went home at 1:00 yesterday and laid down to take a nap. After about 15 minutes of laying there, I got up to get some water ( I had just emptied my bladder) When I got up, I felt a gush and looked down on the bed, there was a spot the size of a plate on the bed. Clear and odorless. I though, aha! This is it, my water broke. I called DH (only) and told him I was going to ride in and let the hospital check me. They took me straight to L&D, hooked up the fetal monitors, which she hated and kicked at the whole time! I was given the ferning test and also an internal check. I have dialated to 2 cm but the back wall was still closed. He tried to strip the membranes and couldn't Anyway, it was apparently a pocket of urine or something, which I haven't had any urine leaks in this pregnancy and they sent me home. Told me to come back in a week.Well, will keep you all posted. Can't believe I am the first at the top of the list now! New mommies- keep posting those pics! |
