Morning!!! Took puppy to her first vet appt. yesterday - she has been coughing and needed her 1st checkup. She has an upper respiratory infection and is on antibiotics and cough suppressant. Poor baby girl!

Today at noon I have an orthodontic appt. at lunch and hopefully I'll get the exact date that my braces come off - which should be in 5-6 weeks! WOooooooHOoooooooo!!!

I also have an OB appt. after work today! I have to take Mac w/me b/c Dean is going to dinner with an old co-worked up the road, but they aren't doing internal exams yet so it's no biggie. She's old enough to sit in the chair and be good while I deal w/the dr.

Other than that, all is well! Seems I may have a pretty steady day at work, which has been a rare occassion lately! Looking forward to it!

Lauren

Hello Ladies,

I had a question last night I told myself to remember so I could pose it on the board this morning but it seems I've forgotten it already! lol I guess it must not be that important.

I've been sleeping a LOT lately. I think thats my favorite activity

Lauren: I hope your lil puppy is feeling better soon! Congrats on getting rid of the braces soon... then you can smile for your pictures again.

Good Morning Gals!

Lauren- it seems our days are similar today. I have to take my son to his orthodontist appt at 3pm to see when he will get his braces off and get on his retainer. Then I have to go my OB to pick up some paperwork though. I'm not seeing her today since I just went last week. How often are you seeing your OB? I go every 4 weeks but I think after my appt on Feb. 24 I go every 2 weeks. Oh I know I meant to ask you have you done the glucose test yet?

Trish- Hello! I know what you mean about sleeping alot lately. It seems that's all I do anymore. I have gotten so tired within the last week or so. I hope I start getting some more energy.

I am so proud of myself. I have really been watching what I'm eating this last week. I'm not restricting what I'm eating just less bread and pasta. However I really want some mac & cheese really really bad!!!!!

I was wondering if this is true....my aunt is allergic to bread, corn, fish, peanut oil, well let's just say alot of stuff. Well her Dr. said that it could be because her mother didn't expose her to alot of foods while she was pregnant with her. Since my Aunt was adopted my my Grandma and Grandpa from the time she left the hospital she will never know. So my question is...do you think it is true? Can not eating certain foods make your child have a low tolerance to the food, therefore causes allergies?

Thanks
Cynthia

I'm still at every 4 weeks for now, but I believe that starting after this appointment I go every 2 weeks. At least that is what she mentioned the last time. Either that, or I start going every 2 weeks after the 28th week - I can't remember! LOL!

No glucose test yet, but I know it's coming up! I didn't mind it too much the last time!

CYNTHIA - I dunno... As a matter of fact, one of the dad's at our childbirth class was talking about staying away from foods that you're allergic to, while pregnant, because THEN you could pass those allergies on to your baby. I need to look into that.

LAUREN - Sounds like you have a busy day! Sending little Tally get well wishes!

TRISHA - Sounds like you are suffering from a common case of preggo brain! LOL! I do that all the time!

Well, the class last night went well... Learned a lot about breastfeeding, post partum care, etc... I thought I knew a lot, but I guess I didn't know as much as I thought!

PFGAL: I didn't start going every 2 weeks until 30 or 32 weeks I think. At 36 weeks I start once a week. Did you post this thread? You forgot to add Heidi and her baby!

Cynthia: I have heard the opposite in fact IRT peanut allergies - to NOT eat a lot of peanut butter if your family has allergies. Which I didn't listen to at all, I have peanut butter all the time. I wouldn't worry, just have a balanced diet with a variety of good foods, don't eat the same exact thing every day in huge quantities.

I am so uncomfortable at night now. I wake up a lot. Last night I slept wrong on my arm and it hurts. I am so grumpy. I know I'm getting in practice for having a newborn so I don't worry about it. Bought some newborn Huggies yesterday and I can't stop staring at them. They look SO SMALL AND CUTE I can't stand it!!! It's amazing to think someone's little butt is going to fit into those in just a few weeks.

Ok... that wasn't nice! Now I'm hungry for Mac n' cheese. Maybe Jason will pick some up for me so we can have it for dinner tonight! If I'm still hungry for it then

hmmm... well if not exposing your child to foods will give them allergies then my baby will deffinately be allergic to all kinds of meat because my body seems to be rejecting meat since I'm pregnant.

If exposing my baby to too much of the same food will give them allergies... then my baby will deffinately be allergic to cheese pizza! lol

Good morning mommies:

how are you all today? Waiting on Friday- Like me?

Mrs. Sarah- I scanned through yesterday's posts to read you got the dreaded visit from TOM. I am soooo sorry. ((((Hugs)))). Heaps and heaps of baby dust coming your way.

Lauren- hope your cute lil puppy is feeling better soon

Heidi- I can't wait to hear your story! Your little man looked HUGE

Well, everything is fine here- no changes really. I already feel really big and can tell my pelvic bones are moving outward. I hear grinding and popping alot. It isn't uncomfortable, just weird. Seems as though the acne has moved off my face and onto my chest now what the heck is that from?? Otherwise, feeling Katie move ALOT. I can tell her sleep wake patterns now and she seems to sleep all night and play all day- perfect! Tomorrow we get another ultrasound (10 min) long on video tape. I am so excited!! Should be the last though That would make about (7) I have had already.

Well, take care all- will check in later,

Tracy

I didn't start going every 2 weeks until 32 weeks last time. I did that twice until 36 weeks, then went every week. My dr. this time starts her 2 week appointments earlier, it seems.

OMG...I am a dunce!! HEIDI...don't wring my neck off!! We'll be sure to get little Eric added tomorrow!

Morning Guys,

Speaking of preggo brain, at my doctor's visit I was supposed to go down the hall to the lab after my exam and have my blood drawn and instead just checked out and left the building. I didn't realize until I was unlocking my car that DUH! I think I forgot something. Anyway, I got all the results back yesterday from the million tests they did and everything was negative/normal.

Pfgal--How exciting...you'll get your smile back!

Trish--I never thought I would sleep this much. DH thinks I'm a lazy bum, I'm sure. (You're laying down AGAIN?!)

cynicalcyn--Ditto what the others said on allergies...I've heard that exposure can start an allergy. Noone's prying the peanut butter out of my hand though. Oh, and you're really playing with fire mentioning mac n cheese on a thread full of pregnant women!

ms. tiger--I hear you on the grumpiness. Although I'm sure grumpiness + huge belly +aches & pains trumps this 1st trimester stuff.

jefinner--I was appalled by that story you posted yesterday! It's scary to think that we could have so little decision making power over our own bodies and mainly because of the crazy, litigous country we live in. I can understand the doctor's fear of a lawsuit but at the same time it's infuriating that they would try and court-order a C-section. I'm going to be sure and be clear with my doc that I want to avoid surgery unless it's really, really necessary.

Good morning everyone.

Ms. Tiger- I was so grumpy this moring it wasn't even funny and I am never like that. I feel a little more like myself now.

Lauren- How exciting about getting your braces off- I hope Tally gets to feeling better.

Trisha- I want to sleep more so bad- I swear my 2 year old will do anything to not sleep. She has not been falling to sleep until 9:30 lately and has been getting up before 7 and only takes about 45 min nap. I am sure that is not enought sleep for her. So I have to go to bed right after I get her to bed. I am still rocking her to sleep- I have to get her out of that habit before the new baby comes.

Last night Jessica and I went to our parent/toddler music class. Jessica loved it. It was our first class. I was so embarresed. Right before class started and everthing was quiet- Jessica let out a huge burp!! Can you beleive it. I know my face was as red as a fire truck- Everyone got a big laugh out of it and it kinda broke the ice, but did it have to be my sweet angelic child- LOL

Kristen

Thanks all for your words of support. Sounds like you all have a good group here. Glad I found you. I sat down yesterday afternoon and figured that I really only need to add about 3 things to my diet per day, 1 yogurt, 2 fruits and another 20 carb item like a sweet potato or something. I was already doing about 30 carbs a day so this should bring me up to about 80 carbs/day and include the extra 300 cal/day that I'll need. I was feeling better after I got it written down.

BabyBlue - Is this your second? We are due about the same time. Are you hoping for boy or girl? Or doesn't matter? I'm encouraged by your response! Thanks!

Cindy,

This is our second child. We are very excited. I am an only child and I wanted my daughter to have siblings. It doesn't matter what sex we have we just want a nice healthy baby

I Know by your post that this is going to be your fourth. That is amazing. Not many people have large families anymore- I am sure it will be difficult but wonderful.

My diet plan sounds about the same as yours- I really don't want to gain alot this time. I only gained 30lbs with Jessica, but I was overweight to begin with. I am just going to try to eat good and try to stay away from the pasta and bread.

Lauren-

I love your new aviator picture. Your puppy is beyond adorable!

We have a toy poodle (I don't give her the poodle cut)- and she is so tiny- she weight- 5lbs on a good day. We love that even though she almost 9 yrs old she looks like a little puppy

Awwww, so tiny!!! Tally weighed 4 pounds, 1 ounce at the vet yesterday, but of course will get to be 12-17 pounds - probably on the high side of that!

Yeah, me too. I was scared to think I would have to eat bread again! Isn't that weird?! I am no sugar too, but I wouldn't give up an Atkins Cheesecake every other week!

BTW, stop talking about Mac N Cheese you guys! ha ha!

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if someone could post a sample menu of about 70-80 carbs per day. I'm only 6 1/2 weeks pregnant but feel I'm already veering way off the low carb course. It would help to see what you all are eating.

My 3 year old daughter and I were talking about the baby and the fact that it's in my tummy. She said "Mommy, why did you eat that baby?". It was so funny!!

I'm still waiting for my 1st OB appointment on 2/23. I'll be 9 weeks pregnant then. It's driving me crazy having to wait that long.

Did anyone start showing early (around 5-6 weeks)? I know it's not the baby, but I feel really really bloated. Anyone else?

Thanks,
txaggie

How funny about your daughter.

We are about the same amount along and I feel really blotted. I have heard that you show alot earlier with the 2nd baby. I also don't remember my breast getting so large so soon- I feel like Dolly Partin(SP).

I can't wait until my doctors appoinment- It is one month from today.

I have been eating an egg omlet with Cheese in the morning. A nice big salad with grilled chicken for lunch and fish/chicken or beef with veggies for dinner and I force myself to drink a glass of milk at night. I haven't caluculated the carbs but it seems healthy to me.

After my first you just had to say the word 'pregnant' and my tummy popped out. As far as bloating goes, did you have a lot of swelling during your first? Do you eat a lot of deli meat? That has a lot of hidden salt.
