Yay! Its Friday
Doesn't seem like it should be though since I had 2 days off in the middle of the week due to snow!

I looked back at the end of yesterdays posts...
What a beautiful baby Summer has! Pretty pretty little girl.

Lauren: You have a cute little belly! How long have you had your braces? And how has it been to be an adult with braces??? I really need them but I'm kinda chicken since I don't like people messing with my teeth.

Hope everyones Friday is off to a great start and I hope Heidi is having her baby!

Good morning!! Man, I made a stupid mistake yesterday. After months and months of no sugar, I took a sample of a swet snack at Costco. I was SOOOOOOOOOO sick last night, and I just know it was the sugar. Ugh! Couldn't eat any dinner, just sipped on sparkling water all evening.

I won't have my first OB appt. till next Friday, and I really hope they'll do an ultrasound then to see the heartbeat. That would reassure me a lot that this pg. is going ok. After that, though, it'll be every other week appts. for a long time and with a perinatologist rather than a regular ob! I am high risk for a number of reasons (age, weight, high blood pressure, and previous losses). So they'll follow me very closely.

Lauren: You definitely have that beautiful pregnancy "glow"!!! I wish I did LOL ~ I have never had skin problems before even through puberty and pregnancies but this time its CRAZY!! Your pics are beautiful!!

Trish: That was a short nice work week for you!! Hopefully things don't get too backed up for you next week - Have a great weekend!

Teach: I can't handle sugery things either - yuck - I took a bite of a cupcake and it was sooooooooo sweet I couldn't swallow it. If I get that "sweet tooth" I just stick with my peaches or drink a few ounces of orange juice.

I think we are just going to have a quiet weekend here, at least I am hoping its a quiet weekend. My grandmother has been moved out of ICU and had the last of her tubes removed yesterday. She is a little mentally unstable right now - the dr said it was b/c she was medicated for such a long period of time but that it should remedy itself in the next few days. If she is doing better I think I will take the girls to see her, it might help "snap" her back I just thank God she has made it through and is definitely on the road to recovery

I've had them for just under 2 years. I should have only had them for a year, but I had a crappy orthodontist and ended up switching during my treatment b/c I was so dissatisfied with him. I got them on during the summer of 2002 - a year before my wedding. My teeth weren't bad at all...just a couple spaces that I knew would get worse with age, and 1 crooked tooth - that was it! The ortho. was very old fashioned and took forever...he'd fix one problem, only to create 3 more problems. He promised to be finished by my wedding in May '03, and wasn't. Instead he took the braces off for the wedding and put them back on after the honeymoon. In October he STILL wasn't finished and the status of my teeth wasn't satisfying...I mean, they weren't bad in the first place, and he was just lolly-gagging! I switched docs in October and have had GREAT success with the 2nd one. I go for final adjustments next week and should get them off 6 weeks after that. Yay!!

It's really not that bad having them as an adult. At first I felt funny and like a 13 year old kid. It's weird being in the orthodontist's office, because there are tons of young kids in there, lol! But I was pleasantly surprised to see several adults just like me!! My friend in the picture with me has the clear braces, and you can barely see hers! If I had it to do over, I'd have gone that route - but of course I thought I'd only have them for 11 mos. total, and didn't want to pay the extra for that short amount of time. At any rate, I'm nearly done and that's good news!

Lauren- You do have a cute belly and that "glow". Even with the braces your adorable. I have spaces between some of my teeth but they are pretty straight. I thought about having the space in the front bonded- even had the appoinment, but I ended up not doing it. It's not that bad so I can live with it.

Summer's baby was adorable!

Angelhope: I don't know what was wrong with your grandmother but I am happy that she is getting better.

I am so glad it's Friday, Trish- it seems like such a long week, we had bad weather here all week, but not bad enought to miss work- just bad enough to give you white knuckles on the commute in. The weekend is going to be cold but clear. Then Monday they are calling for more snow/rain/ice mixtures- UGH!! It need to be spring already.

OMG.. Summer´s baby is super sweet! What a cutie!

Lauren you look great, your lil belly AND the braces.

I have the worst teeth, I thought about braces but I have a history of abcesses..so I shall just hold out for nice straight pearly while dentures..lol

So far so good on the new medicine, it calms my stomach down upon swallowing the liquid. Lets see if it holds. One of the side effects is loose stools. Hmm so far livable.

I did a recalculation on my weight loss -24 lbs.
I wish I lost that easy in normal function.

Angel.. once Granny gets off all the meds she will be just the way she was. I have faith in that. I miss both my grandmothers so much. I am so glad you still have your´s!

I am so ready for the 23rd of Feb. I get to find out sex of the two kiddos. I promised myself I would not buy anything till then. But I am dying here! There is so much on sale now, I feel like I am missing out.lol

Lauren - Great picture! You're such a pretty one!! And what a tiny belly you have (compared to me of course!). My sister was like that too. She's 5'10" and you could hardly even tell she was pregnant until the last couple months. I showed immediately. Oh well.

Sorry for the other day when I seemed to start a borage oil debate. Got lots of GREAT information, though, and I'm still taking it in hopes this boy will come out soon. My body seems to want him out because I've lost chunks of my plug and I've been cramping but nothing consistent. I think he's too comfy in there. *sigh*

I saw this was discussed ... I'm getting an epi. My labor is pretty intense because I get bad cramping that never subsides. On top of that, I get the peaks of contractions so it hurts like you wouldn't believe. I only could take 2 hours of hard labor with Kayla and I had to cave. I'm not sure if I'll even try to tough it out this time or not. I think the bad cramping is associated to me having Endometriosis and having left over scar tissue. Not fun.

Gotta get busy. Gonna try to walk some today if possible. I know I still have about a week or so left but I just don't want to wait anymore. Have a great day everyone!!

Just lost 2 more chunks with pink toilet paper. I don't care what the doctor says at this point ... I'm going walking. Wish me luck!! I've been losing it all week and I know it can mean that labor is still as much as 2 weeks away but maybe if I get on my feet (yes, I'm taking myself off bedrest) and walk I can hurry things along.

Heidi: You are on your way! I lost my plug early in the day and had Charlotte at 6am next morning. I know yours has been coming out slowly though...but that's a good sign. Things are starting to happen. Walking is probably a good idea!

I am so excited for you. I wish it was my time already but I've got a few weeks yet. I am so uncomfortable today, don't know if baby has dropped or what. He seems very low and my whole groin and inner thighs are very achy and sore.

Ellen & Angela: I wish i had your aversions to sweets! About 2 weeks ago I tried doing a relatively "low-carb" day. I woke up feeling good, no tummy troubles in sight so i thought it would be a good day to try it. I think I ended up throwing up every single thing I ate! I'm back to an almost all carb diet. Ugh... my allergies act up with all the junk, but at least I keep some food down!

Lauren: Thats not too bad.. 2 years. But I think I'd feel really cheated if I thought they'd be on just a short time and ended up being 2 years! I think mine would have to be on for a longer period of time. I have a very bad overbite as well as an overjet. I had my wisdom teeth out 2 years ago and my dentist said if I got braces I'd probably need a couple more teeth out on the bottom. YUCK! I need to toughen up and go see an orthodontist!

Kristen: Sorry to hear about your long week... but I'm sure you're happy the weekend is here! Michigan got blasted with snow and we are supposed to have another storm possibly on Sunday or Monday. I won't complain if I get another day off of work... but I kinda doubt that will happen

Red: Glad to hear the new meds are working for you. That is a LOT of weight to lose! WOW! Even though I've been sick through my pregnancy (with about 3 months of not keeping much of anything down) I have managed to maintain my weight. My weight fluctuates some so I may have even gained about 2 pounds.

Heidi: Sorry you aren't feeling well. Hopefully that lil boy comes to greet you soon

Kristen: Thanks for your well wishes - My granny had heart valve surgery last week and there were some complications due to the severity of muscle damage and her age. She is coming around though Its just taking her a little longer than most. Thanks again!

Chris: Thanks for the support - my Granny is my heart, I love her dearly and I know I would fall to pieces if something happened right now during this pregnancy. I have not had anyone close to me pass away and I know its coming - but I can't deal with it at this time so maybe God is watching out for my mental wellbeing You have REALLY lost a lot of weight!!! I have my fingers crossed that your meds will keep working ~ I am jealous! I want to find out the sex of my little one too, hopefully I will get to make THE appt on my next midwife appt.... the waiting is killing me LOL

Heidi: Bedrest SUCKS!!! I got to be a pro at it during my last pregnancy - and its sooo hard when you have another little one to look after. I say GET UP and WALK WALK WALK I lost my plug with Maggie but then nothing happened then a few days later my bp shot up and they induced - so maybe SOMETHING will happen.


Trish: My aversion only ends with the sweets - I could probably live off of bagels right now if I would let myself LOL I have been heavier on the carbs during this first trimester I am hoping to cut them back during the next... we will see, it all depends on what my body will LET me have LOL

ANGELA - Glad to hear your grandma's doing better. Both DH and I lost our Grandmas this last last year. Mine in January, DH's in December, and it is hard. I get all emotional when I think about her not being able to hold her latest great-granddaughter. Okay, I should shut up now... I just wanted to let you know I can relate. You and your grandma will definitely be in my prayers! ((((HUGS))))

Well, I'm happy... I got a new outfit from Old Navy yesterday... I desperately needed jeans. The hand-me-down jeans I got are just not fitting right. (I have big thighs, and they aren't stretchy...) I love these though... God bless whoever made stretch jean material! Plus, I got an awesome blouse on clearance for under $5! Can't beat that.

I've had a thing with bagels too lately! I have a friend that owns a bagel shop and she lives a couple hours away. She makes them fresh every day. They are so YUM! I need to make a trip over there

I hope your second trimester treats you better than mine has so far. I'm some better but the nausea and aversion to meats and most protein hasn't gone away!

Mrs. Sarah- I still cannot believe you haven’t started. That is so weird. When will your doctor run some tests?

Lauren- you make me ill girl. LOL. You are so little. You can’t even tell your pg yet!

Heidi- poor thing! I hope the walking does it for you. Is intimacy with hubby a possibility?? Maybe you could get little Eric moving then <wink>

Jefinner- I haven’t checked out Old Navy yet. They have good maternity clothes? I went to JC Penny’s today and their selection, much like everyone’s elses is terrible!! They give you a 10x10 square in the very back corner and pile the ugliest clothes up with astronomical prices on the tags! Sears is no better. Guess I am gonna have to go back to Motherhood.

Angela- so sorry your grandma is sick. Send her well wishes from us all. I am very close to my 74 year old grandma too. I’d don’t know what I’d do without her.

So, the Bouncing Back After Baby thread is gone????? I didn’t know that. I defientely say we start one back up.

Well, all is well here. Enjoying my pregnancy and all the fun times that come in the middle trimester. The kicks and rolls from baby are reassuring, yet they don’t hurt. She’s just letting me know she’s there. I have however gone from a size 10 to a size 16. Yipes! The 16’s are a little big, but not much. *sigh*. I assume I will gain 40 lbs with the pg just like my last.

I had fun the other night scanning in my honeymoon pics from our cruise to the Grand Caymen. Anyone wanna see?? Oh, there is one pic of a giant stingray harassing me, as you can see from the look on my face, I was horrified!!

Angela: Yes, so far I haven't gained more than about 2 pounds. I keep expecting to hop on the scale and start gaining a bunch of weight. I try to just eat what sounds like will stay down... I figure thats better than eating low carb and throwing it all back up! I say... endulge in those bagels! lol I am terribly jealous of my sister in law who is 4 weeks behind me and not a day of sickness! (I'm jealous of her perfect size 4 cute little body she hasn't had to work a day in her life for too LOL)
