cravings at "that time of the month"

How do you control cravings when you are getting ready to start? I have a big problem with this. Can anyone help??

It must be an Amy thing cause I would chew off my arm before TOM to get to a gobstopper or a potato chip!! I blew it today bad! Being off the pill has made it a lot worse too!

Not just an Amy thing! I'm the same way, but I stay with low carb legal stuff. I just end up eating too much of them!! I don't know how to knock those cravings! I'd like assistance with this too!

Stopping just short of my Hubby sitting on me I don't have a clue. This was my first TOM on this way of eating and I swore if my kids stood still too long I would have ate them....LOL....when you find out please post the answer.....Sami

Maybe the answer are all those low carb candies that they are selling now? When you haven't had chocolate in awhile, they taste like the real thing. Also, Russell Stover has a chocolate sauce out now and a girl on here told me it was excellent.

Hi Im new to this site, and I just started Atkins on the 26th...which ironically my TOM started. I found the best way to beat my cravings for chocolate are the shakes and the advantage bars, other wise I would of fell off the bandwagon as soon as I started.

I've had those low carb candies and they are excellent! Russell Stovers is by far the best!

Beware of those SF chocolates!!! If you eat too many of them at one time, you could end up spending the rest of the day in the bathroom in misery! They really can cause tummy upset!

im not going anywhere near s/f candy again last time i thought that was the answer to my cravings, all that happened was i did spend the whole day in the bathroom and also it led me to just crave sweets and thats when i totally blew my woe and going off plan. no s/f candy for me, no s/f jello. no s/f sweet anything of anykind.

Ugh, I'm wrestling with this right now actually. What I do is give myself an allowance of the bite sized sugar-free chocolates (3 per day) and space them out over the course of the day so they don't send me to the bathroom. Then, I promise myself one of the Klondike Carbsmart fudgesicles for dessert after dinner. This works pretty well and the fudge bars don't have the bathroom effect like the sugar-free candies do. I haven't cheated yet as a result of TOM, but I do notice that I just eat more legal foods than normal and don't lose while TOM is around.

I eat SF chocolate and Ice cream. I eat it all in moderation, and it seems to help a lot!! I get really strong cravings like all of you do too during this time. It gets easier....
