low carb and pregnancy

Hey guys! I've actually been a member here for a few weeks, but I haven't had time to post or anything. My mom chats around here somewhere. =)

Here's my story. I started the Atkins diet about 6 months ago. I ended up losing around 45 lbs. After I came off induction I never really counted my carbs. I just kind of stayed aware of what I was putting into my body. I stayed away from the major things like sweets/deserts and a lot of potato things. I started in with low carb bread and just ate when I was hungry, etc. The weight was still pouring off - then I moved.

I got married on the 10th of this month and I pretty much threw all I learned to the wind. I want to get back on my diet!!! I miss it and I've gained back about 10 lbs.

Here is my problem. We recently decided that we aren't going to practice any birth control - if it happens GREAT! Is a LC plan healthy for someone who may become pregnant? Will it help or hurt our chances of becoming pregnant? Are there any online resources for this issue?

I skimmed through and searched some of the back logs but there are so many!! Any information you guys can give me would be much appreciated!

Come and join us on the pregnancy thread, most of us preggos will miss the post here. It's slow on the weekend, so wait till Monday and you will get all of us.

LC has gotten people pregnant who couldn't or didn't get pregnant before. LC is definitely do-able when pregnant. At this late stage of pregnancy I am not as devoted to low carbing as I was in the beginning, but I still do my best.

Agreed - come on over to the pregnancy board and check us out. We do a daily thread and one thread for the weekends! I was low-carbing when I got pregnant this time (baby #2) and it happened the 1st month we tried.

Good luck!

We tried to get pregnant for over a year and it finally happened after I got serious about low carb.
