Good morning gals!! Another night of American Idol for us, and nothing else too exciting!! Mac started running a 102 fever yesterday so I left work early to take her to the doctor. Nothing wrong yet, so they're assuming just a cold that has to run its course. She does have a history of ear infections, though, so he said if she complains in the next day or 2 to call him and he'll get a prescription called in for her. That was good news, so that I know I don't have to make another visit to the dr. office. She is acting normally, though, and Tim's (her dad) girlfriend is off today and able to keep her. If she was 'sick sick' I'd certainly stay home, but I see no point when it's just a fever that motrin keeps down and the little goon is running around like she's A-OK!

Morning Lauren,

Don't you hate it when your little one is sick but you can't figure out what is wrong? Max spiked a fever day before yesterday for about 4 hours. He's been fine since except for a little bit of dry cough at night. I think he's cutting his two year molars. It's hard to get my finger back there to feel his gums without getting bitten!

I am watching the sun rise over the Caribbean right now. It looks like another perfect day in paradise. Hope everyone else is well today.

Hiya Ladies!

Every day I'm feeling a little better from this cold. I'll be happy to be rid of it soon I actually slept a few hours last night so I'm feeling much better than I have in days.

My poor DH... I think I've given him my cold! He was sneezing and sniffeling all morning before I left for work.

I caught bits and pieces of american idol last night, but was picking up the house while watching.

Lauren: Those colds can be nasty! Thats good your daughter isn't feeling too bad. Kids seem to bounce back alot quicker from those things.

Suzanne: You paint a picture that is quite a contrast to our snow covered ground, flurries in the air, and sub-zero weather! I don't mind though, I'm a northern girl all the way.

Morning Guys,

All I can say about the ultrasounds is...wow! First we just saw the (teensy) image of the baby that looked like a tiny stalagtite on the uterus and then he flicked a switch and you could hear the heartbeat. We both almost cried. It was such a spiritual experience. I think it was especially good for him because since this is not happening to HIS body, that just makes it more real, you know? Anyway, everything looks good, of course they stabbed my arm for a million precautionary tests that I'm sure are fine. The due date is September 8.

Pfgal--I can't imagine going through pregnancy with a little one to take care of. Phew!

Thininmex--I went to Playa del Carmen for my honeymoon in September and still dream about it. It is paradise. Are you working down there?

Trish--Glad you're feeling better.

Morning everyone!!

In response to some people from yesterday--

Sarah! I am sorry! (((HUGS))). It sucks-I know! Hang in there.

Tracy- Aboout joint pain at 20 weeks...I didn't have it then but I have it really bad now. I have the worst pain in my wrists these last few weeks. I can barely hold anything for very long or squeeze them. I feel very arthritic or something. Where is your trouble?
Any suggestions from anyone???? I am going to take some Tylenol today to see if that helps any.

Lauren- Sorry your daughter is sick--Glad she seems to be doing ok though!

Suzanne- I am jealous--I would love to be in the tropics right now with a big daquiri !

Trolly- Isn't that US amazing! It mkaes it totally real feeling.

Trish- Glad you are feeling better!

Mrs Sarah - You might want to keep an eye out on this forum:
http://www.ovusoft.com/forum/tm.asp?...95&p=1&tmode=1
This person claims that she has heard of women not getting + on blood test right away.

Lauren - Glad to hear your girl is OK!

Suzanne - I am so jealous!! It's supposed to be sub-zero here for the next few days. I HATE cold! I don't know why I live in Chicago...

Trish - Glad to hear you're feeling better. Poor DH!

Trolly - Isn't it amazing? Did they give you pictures? They didn't turn on the sound for us, but after I got home and stared at the pictures for a while, it finally sunk in that I was having a baby! I can't wait for my 20w u/s!

Laura - I'm not sure what to tell you. Maybe it's carpel tunnel? It's common in pg. Mine comes and goes. Since it's in your wrist, I'm not sure... I hope it gets better!

I asked this before but didn't get too many responses. For those who've had epidural, did you get a feeling of electric shock running down your legs when they administered epi? I am so scared about that because of my experience with spinal tap. I want to go natural, but I want to prepare in case the pain becomes unbearable.

Have a good one!

Katie--Yeah, the sonographer (is that a word?) took 4 pictures and let us keep them. It was really cute because DH insisted on taking one to work so he could show people and it's just a tiny white spot!

trolly: the ultrasounds are awesome aren't they! I was amazed at how much we could see on my first one (9w 5d). I was lucky to get that one at my first appointment, and then an "off the records" one from my cousin at 14 w. I can't wait untill my next one at 19 w!

Katie: I think you live in the wrong place if you don't like the cold weather! stay bundled up

Heidi-M. You better report back with an update! I need to vicariously experience a delivery at this point since I feel like I'm going to be pregnant forever, not 7.5 more weeks!

Hi everyone! It's almost Friday. Kinda quiet in here today eh?

I am waiting to get off work so I can go to Jazzercise. I totally feel better after a long day of work whenever I go and unwind, before going home to my rug rats.

Lauren- glad your little one is ok. My 5 year old runs mystery fevers on occasion. Take her to the doctor and he always says the same, she has a virus, it will run it's course. Within 2-3 days, she's good as new.

Laura- my joint pain is in my hips and back the last week or two. BUT, it dawned on me yesterday, we have a waterbed So, on top of the weight gain and stretching ligaments, the bed isn't providing enough support. *sigh* mattress shopping this weekend. Fun.

Heidi, can't wait to hear from you!

I am scheduled for ANOTHER coposcopy in a couple of weeks. My doctor said if the cells that were there 3 months ago are still there and growing they are going to biopsy. Yuck. I heard that hurts like hell. The copo isn't so painful, it's the scraping that will kill you. Also have an appt next week to look at the cyst on my right ovary. Can't wait because I am gonna have the tech take another look at little bit for me. She will be RIGHT there for crying out loud. LOL

Welp, off for now, will catch you all later. Have a great night!

Tracy

Oops. posted this out in Maintain Lane somehow.

Hi everyone,

Wendy - I highly recommend Old Navy Maternity. You can check it out online where there are actually more sales. Cute stuff, mostly cotton, and not expensive.

Well, I can't get an u/s apptmt until next week at the hospital to estimate the fetal weight, so I guess I'm going to torcher myself worrying until then. Maybe it's no big deal, but of course I'm fearing the worst and trying to figure out where I went wrong!
Ugh.

Just a quickie again ... I've gotta go pick up my daughter from playing with her cousins at Grandma's house.

No such luck on an induction. My fluid level is still high but it's "normal high". Ugh. I told my doc about the numbness in my ankles, feet, and belly and also the headache I've had for the past 2 days so they did some routine checks. Nothing. Everything is perfectly normal so he told me to stay off my feet (even though bedrest was supposed to be over) and drink lots of water to try and flush out the swelling. Man, this stinks! I see him for my regular appointment on Monday and I really hope he can help me out a little bit this time. Maybe the cervical check alone will be enough to get things moving but I'm hoping maybe he'll strip my membranes and see if that helps. I'm so miserable.

Sorry for not responding ... gotta get my girlie. I'll *try* and be back tonight.

Heidi, you might try taking borage seed oil, it seemed to work great for me. I took two capsules twice a day and bango! Early fast labor. Couldn't hurt.

Trisha, glad to hear you are feeling better, sorry to hear about DH. We get a lot of colds this time of year because we work in tourism. People bring their colds from all over the world. Yuck!

Trolly, we are about 4 hours south of Playa del Carmen on the Belize border. Playa now has about 1 million residents; we only have a population of 300 local fishermen including their families plus about a dozen foreign investors. It is absolutely beautiful and unspoiled with the most awesome scuba diving--but I really look forward to our monthy shopping trip to Cancun. We really are at the end of the road to nowhere.

Looper2, I had carpal tunnel surgery on both hands about 10 years ago. My orthopedic surgeon said that it might come back during pregnancy because increased blood volume could put pressure on the median nerve. Symptoms are pain, especially when squeezing or lifting. As it progresses, you'll have tingling and numbness, usually during the night. Like your hands are asleep. I asked my doctor what the treatment would be if it came back during pregnancy and he said "Delivery". Wearing wrist braces really helps, you can get bowler's braces at any sporting goods store. You should also sleep in braces to keep the hand in a neutral position. Best of luck!

KatieN, all I remember about my epidural was that it caused me to have a panic attack after Max was delivered. I just could not stand not being able to move my feet and legs and felt like I would go crazy if I couldn't move. The anesthesiologist gave me something for panic. I don't remember any thing besides a gentle pr!ck from the needle at the beginning.

Wari, we got married in Las Vegas last Oct!!! I grew up in So Cal but had never been to Vegas, it was a blast! And our families were so happy that we finally married so our son could have "real parents"...LOL

Tracy, good luck with the copo and I hope it turns out well. I had one years ago and it hurt like hell. Thanks for answering my thread about daily menus!

My turn to be on a pity pot. I had a terrible day today. Me and my big mouth, a few days ago I said I wasn't having any m/s this time. Wrong. So I am sitting down in the dive shop, drinking lots of water because it makes me feel a little better, and peeing every 5 minutes. Then I go to pee and it hurts! I am thinking oh *****, a urinary tract infection. We have a small social security clinic here in town but I have no idea what I can take while pregnant. Besides, my DH is out diving and I am alone watching the shop while Max sleeps. So I guzzle as much water as I can stand trying to flush it out. It gets worse, and worse. Finally the divers come back and my girlfriend went down to the clinic for me (at this point I can't be away from the toilet for more than 2 minutes). She explained to the doc that I was pregnant and the doc went through all her books until she found me something I could take. But of course it just makes me more nauseous. Fortunately I didn't puke the meds up and I can pee with out tears in my eyes now. And one of our employees just got back from the city and brought me a kilo of roasted fava beans with chile powder! Yummy!

Tiger - I did some looking and WOW that stuff seems to be a miracle pill! Can I continue to take it once the baby comes? I have major PMS and other things that I would benefit from by taking that too. I'm gonna send DH out for some tonight or tomorrow! Thanks for the tip!!

THININMEX - Can you try taking some Cranberry pills? I got a UTI (my first one... didn't even know I had one!) a few months ago, and it seemed to work well, and you can't take too much. (Not like you'd want to, but y'know...) Anyway, my midwife told me that it works, because it makes your urinary tract slippery... The bacteria can't stay... But to drink tons of water to flush it...
