Hiya Ladies!
I wasn't able to pop in yesterday because I had my doctor apt in the AM and then came into work late, so I was scrambeling to get caught up. The doc apt. went well. Not much happened, we listened to the heart rate and I asked her a couple of questions. We also scheduled my ultrasound, she wants me to have it done at 19 weeks. I didn't mention I had one done this past Friday because I didn't figure it would matter since she couldn't have a report on it or anything. Speaking of which tomorrow whoever starts the post can add that I'm having a boy. So I think the fatigue is starting to go away a bit lately. I've still been sick to my stomach at least once or twice a day. I would really like to be done puking! I hope I don't take after my mother and do it through the WHOLE pregnancy. I have a couple new complaints too... small cramps in my lower abdomen and back pain! Icky! Oh... and of course the headaches I've been having the past couple of weeks. They are killer. Sara: Congrats on the girl! I'm jealous you get to buy all the cute little girl clothes Lauren: Sorry to hear you are feeling bummed. I hate having those BLAH weeks ![]() So a question... is there any problem with going to a concert while you are pregnant? Does the prolonged loud music hurt the baby in any way? Well, I better get moving! I have some training materials I have to revise before next week!

Good morning!
Lauren - I'm sorry to hear about all the stress. Take care of yourself! Sara - Congrats on your little girl! And your raise! Sounds like you had a very good day. Abbymommy - My prayers are with you. You have a great attitude. You must be a very strong woman. Looper - Don't worry about complaining! That's what this board is for!! Alessandra - That was a great point about LCarbers needing more water. No wonder I'm still thirsty after 80 oz of water! Chris - I'm sorry you had a bad day yesterday. I was feeling miserable the other day because it was snowing like crazy, and I always wind up going grocery shopping in crappy weather. DF was still sound asleep in a warm cozy bed. I was not able to breath at all that day, and I only had 5 hours of sleep from being out so late because of DF. I came home, yelled at him, almost started bawling, all while trying to catch my breath. Then I ate a bag of potato chips and felt better. Regarding what you might expect at delivery, can you take a hospital tour? Good luck during your Dr's appt. Grilled cheese....... that sounds yummy, with tomato soup................ Angelhope - I occasionally get "hotflashes" type of feeling. I've had dizzy spells twice, both times in a crowded area when I've been standing. Now that you mention tunnel vision, I have that all the time, with pressure in my head. Maybe it's from hormones doing its wicked things with sinuses. I love the idea of homeschooling. I'll definitely be looking into it. Hello to anyone else I missed! |

Trish - you snuck in on me! I hope your fatigue and nausea goes away. My mom had m/s the entire time with my brother, but not with the girls. And yes, these headaches are killer!!
I don't see a problem with going to a concert. I don't think your baby can hear yet. The only concern is being in a hot crowded room with no fresh air. Will you be sitting down the whole time? If so, I would go, but I wouldn't if I had to stand the whole time. Like I mentioned before, just from standing up for 5 min in a crowded room, not even hot, gave me dizzy spells. It was a bit scary because I didn't know if I was going to fall over. Out of curiosity, what kind of concert is it? |

Hello ladies!
Lauren- I know what you mean those extra few days matter a lot. LOL...I'm so excited for you and your baby girl. What did Dean say? What did your daughter say? Our boys are so excited to be having a sister!!!!!! Good luck to whoever has an ultrasound today! I forgot who it was! I so wish that this was Friday. I am so tired again! It seems like I am regressing. I could sleep for hours and hours and hours right now. But instead I'm here at work w/ a sore throat and dreaming of my bed. LOL Well lets hope the day zooms! Take care and God Bless! |

Morning everyone! Wow, a lot has changed here in the past week. I have been reading when I get a chance, but it's so hard to keep ontop of things.
Lauren congrats again on your girl! Have you decided on a name? If you did and posted it, I am sorry I missed it We have our 18 week ultrasound tomorrow, and as a mother of two little girls, we are praying this one has a winky Please cross your fingers for us ladies!Trish- did you have an amnio to find out you are having a boy? I am jealous I have been having really bad headaches too for the past couple of weeks. Hardly miss a day without one. Some days, I have to go to bed to get rid of it. A couple hours sleep seems to help. My doctor thinks it's from not drinking enough water, but I swear, if I drink anymore I will explode! Anyone know what else these are from? I read that if it's followed by dizziness and blurred vision, could be high blood pressure and that's bad. Well, hi to all! Hope you are all healthy and your little babies are too! P.S.- Mrs. Sarah? How are things? Tracy |

Trish - Congratulations on your boy! I dont think a concert will be a big problem. I went to a movie 2 weeks ago and during the loud bits the baby jumped - weird feeling....
Lauren - Have you decided on a name yet? We have chosen Skylar Grace for her name. I get all happy every time I think about it... Tracy - Good Luck! Prayers for a winky! Catch you all later. |

But we were able to very clearly see boy parts and she was able to check almost everything they do at a level 2 ultrasound and see that it all looks great so far! I'll keep my fingers crossed that you have a clear shot of some boy parts! I didn't care too much one way or the other since this is my first ![]() The headaches... hmm... I know mine isn't high blood pressure. I'm staying steady at 100/60 just like I was pre-pregnancy. It could be not enough water for me, but my tummy won't keep the water in it Its very annoying too because I'm incredibly thirsty for water! |

Morning LADIES!!
LAUREN: Congrats on your sweet baby girl!! And YAY another Cassidy. Have you decided on a middle name? Time to start buying some PINK! TRACY: Sending loads of boy vibes your way! I'm anxious to find out what you're having, but most importantly for a healthy baby report. And WOW, I can't believe you're 17 weeks already. Hello to everyone else, I'm trying to stay caught up at work so I don't have a lot of time for personal replies. I'm want to stay ahead of myself in case I decide to take off a week or 2 before baby is due. I'm still debating. I went to the Dr. yesterday, I'm officially up 23 lbs! She did an internal and said the baby "is not on the launching pad yet" lol, she'll do another one next month. She estimated Cassidy weighes about 4 lbs. right now. YAY, I'm getting SO anxious to meet her. My shower is this Sunday, I'm also really excited about that. Have a great day everyone!

Trish- that is sooo cool!! The U/S that is! How neat. I was telling Lauren (via email) yesterday that the military won't even give me a routine 20 week U/S to check for abnormalities, like almost EVERY civilian doctor does! We won't know if he/she has any kind of problems needing medical attention at or after birth because they are TOO cheap! I am having to go pay another doctor tomorrow for my gender determination U/S. It is just.... wrong! I am waiting for the results of my triple screen, it was a week ago. If it is abnormal, then they will do a level II to check further. Uggghh.
Anyway- you are so lucky to find out this soon! Sara- thanks for the boy vibes I am so excited!Lowcarbinmama- I can't believe I am 17 weeks either! I was at the bottom of the list for what seemed like forever! lol! I wouldn't be disapointed with another girl, well.. at least not for long Most importantly, I just want to know he or she is growing on target and everything is fine and I can't find anyone to do an U/S to relieve my fears!! It's so frustrating Mrs. Sarah- I just went back and read yesterday's post!! I am soooo excited for you!! I think about you all the time and pray this is your month!! Please check in and tell us TOM hasn't shown yet! Tracy |

BOY VIBES to Tracey...you said you thought you saw boy parts last time so maybe they will be immistakable this time. We need more boys around here!
Trishagrrl...I looked at my pregnancy calendar and they started talking about babies "hearing" around 20 weeks...so I don't know what to tell you. Think about being underwater though...things are pretty muffled. I know when I went to 4th of July fireworks (baby came on July 27th) she jumped like she was startled when the fireworks went off (but they were pretty loud but not continuously loud) Tigerlily |

Tracy- I'm good. Saying prayers for a little boy for you!! ![]() STILL NO TOM!! Today is day 35. I have made it this far before and had TOM start...so I'm still going to hang out for a couple days before testing. It's hard to wait though!!!Stacy- Have fun at your shower! It'll be a blast! Hi everyone!
I'm still sick. I just can't seem to shake it. All this coughing is killing me ... blech. I came down with a baaaad sore throat last night and I looked in the mirror and found some white patches on my tonsils. Please don't let this be strep!! I'm gonna call the doctor today. This bites the big one. Went to the doctor yesterday and all is well. I shrunk again, well belly wise anyway. My weight is the same and my blood pressure and urine are great. They did the Strep B culture so I should get the results of that in a couple days at the most. I have to have fetal diagnostic testing every 4 days because of my fluctuating fluid levels and I had my first one last week, the day after my last appointment. At my appointment my fluid measured at 22.9 and at the fetal diagnostic appointment the very next day it was 11. I had to skip out on my Saturday one because I was sick but the one yesterday showed the fluid was back up to 17. Now that's certainly no room for concern but the fact is that it flucuates so much with so little activity so they want to keep it in check. Part of the testing is a non-stress test too. The baby's heartbeat was steady around 135 but then it shot up to 180 and stayed there for the longest time! It even set off an alarm. The thing that scared me was that he wasn't even moving! The nurse just said that he seemed very excited ... I guess. I hope it's nothing to be worried about. I had one contraction while I was there too but I don't really have them when I lay down, only when I'm on my feet. Anyway, the doctor said that after next week when I turn 36 weeks, I'm free to move about as much as I want or do whatever I want to do to get things moving on its own. He'll only induce me if necessary. That's okay. I think I'll wait until at least February and then hit the beach. Something about walking in the sand really helped last time. Oh, and the mall too. I've been dying to go shopping!! My hips are killing me today. I think Eric is getting into the "groove" so that's good news. I can't wait until next week when I'm checked to see if anything is happening down there. It sure feels like it! Lauren - That's so great that you're having another girl!!! Congrats! I kinda wish I was having two girls together but a boy will be lots of fun too. ![]() What else am I missing ... ugh, total brain fart. I'll be back later today. I'm going against doctors orders and going shopping. We really need an outfit for this little guy to come home in and I don't want to put it off any longer just in case, ya know? Oh, Kayla is currently potty training ... she's got poops down but still hasn't recognized when she has to pee yet. She done both in the potty but she'll always tell me when she has to poop. I just have to keep putting her on every 20 minutes or so for the pee part of it. We bought her some cute Strawberry Shortcake and Care Bear panties so hopefully that's motivation for her. And I reward her with stickers each time she goes (she loves stickers). Any other advice?? Gotta go ... Last edited by Heidi-M : 01-06-2004 at 09:14 AM. |

Hola girls!
I've been feeling pretty good lately, and I haven't gained any weight in the past couple of weeks (although I still feel like a cow! LOL), so all is good. I really need to get back on track with working out and yoga. I spent money on the DVD's, so I really should use them. LAUREN - I know what you mean about being down. I get that way too, and stress DEFINITELY doesn't help. Oh, and my Mackenzie (Allison wants to start using her middle name... LOL!) is excited about a little sis too. STACY - Only 23 pounds and you're due in Feb? That's great. Gosh, with Allison, I gained almost 60, so I'm determined as hell to gain as little as possible, while having a healthy little baby. SPEAKING OF WEIGHT GAIN... All of you 2nd and 3rd time mommies... Did you gain weight differently with each pregnancy? With Allison, I hardly gained anything at first, and then POOF, I ballooned. With this one, I seem to be gaining weight a lot more steadily, and I haven't gained anything the past couple of weeks. LAURA - I hear you! I'll be checking with the State Licensing board here for the daycares and registered homes I check. I'd really like Anna to be in a home day care, because they're usually smaller, and for a baby, I think it would be better, but I just want them to take wonderful care of her... That's the most important thing. So... Whichever one you decide on... Make sure you check with your state or local licensing board. Even if a place looks wonderful, you never know what violations they might have. HEIDI - Glad to hear things are getting better! You've had a rough couple months, huh??? ((((HUGS)))) SARAH - I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!!! TRACY - Sending you lots and lots of BOY vibes!!! TRISHA - Have you tried just sipping tiny bits of water at a time, just all day? Or maybe adding lemon or some other flavor to it? I know the main reasons I get headaches are from not drinking enough, or if I get hungry. I hope they go away! Ask your doc or nurse about the concert... As long as it's not at a club (the smoke), it should be okay. This is the only part about being pregnant that I hate. There have been so many great club shows, and I can't go. I guess non-smoking clubs wouldn't go over very well, huh? SARA - Skylar Grace! So pretty! HOLA to anyone I missed!!! ![]() ![]() ![]()

Good Afternoon Ladies!
Thanks to you all on the advice on my hot flashes/tunnel vision. I was mainly concerned about my bp. I always get pregnancy induced hypertension, but usually it doesn't show up until later months... it just concerns me. I will have to buy a bp cuff to keep here and maybe that will ease my mind. Lauren: Hope the stress eases up!! Sara: Congrats on the little girl! Now the fun of decorating and buying begins!!! Trisha: I don't know if a concert would hurt the baby at that stage or not, I wouldn't think so. Check with your dr to be sure. I know, like some of the others, that my girls responded to loud outside noises by jumping around (which can sometimes be uncomfortable). I know I had to leave a LOUD war movie when pregnant with my last dd due to the very loud booms and bangs. I could feel her "freaking out"... it was sortof funny. Katie: We really love homeschooling. Fortunately there is a GREAT support system in the community we live in. Cyn: Hope you feel better!! Tracy: :::::sending you BOY vibes::::: Mrs Sarah: GO TEST - you are going to drive us all crazy!!! Heidi: I am hoping you don't have strep and start feeling better soon!! Yea, for Kayla!! Sounds like she has mastered the hard part...learning to poop. The rest will come. With Erin, I just constantly asked her if she needed to go and put her on the potty even if she said she didn't. When they are READY to potty train its almost like it just HAPPENS! She is doing great! Good Luck! Laura: Good luck with the daycare hunting! THAT is not an easy thing to do! Hello to anyone I missed and I will check back later!
