Good Morning all.

Hard to be back at work after 4 days off in a row. especially when I rarely sleep at night now. I woke up last night from a really tense dream that seemed so real that I had to wake myself up and think about it for a minute before I realized it was not real. After that I was soooooo HOT that I had to open the window all the way in my bedroom. (It was around 20 degrees outside last night) Even with no covers on me at all, it took what felt like hours before I cooled down to a sleep able temperature. I have kept my heat at about 58 degrees but that is not even cool enough for me to sleep in.
So with the furnace inside me these days and the general struggle to get comfy at night, I barely sleep. It was nice over the long weekend, I just took a few short naps throughout the day and I felt good.
Thankfully with the holidays its helping the time to go by quickly! I am very excited to have this baby.

Well I will check in later today....hope everyone has a great morning.

Oh....I forgot...on a positive note...at my prenatal appointment on Friday I had only gained 1lb....so the weight gain has finally slowed!

Yeah, where is Heidi???

How was everyone's T-Day??? Ours started out pretty stressful... Wednesday, while I was baking, Allison cut her hand pretty badly on the food processor blade that *I* left on the counter. I felt terrible. I thought that we might have to get stitches, but I wanted to avoid that at all costs. (Especially after I learned that they basically put super glue on a hand cut anyway...) We wrapped her hand really well in a clean dish towel, and I had her put pressure on it to stop the bleeding... It didn't bleed for long, and she was very tough. She didn't even cry. She started to freak out a little until I told her that if she calmed down that would help it to stop bleeding. I got some butterfly closures, some large bandages, and we neosporin'ed it, closed it, and bandaged it. It's already closed up. PHEW!

I wasn't TOO TERRIBLE this T-day, but I could've done better. Poor Hank was the one that ate for two (or five) this holiday. I made an apple pie, a pumpkin pie, and a pumpkin swirl cheesecake... All from scratch this year. (Okay, so the pumpkin I got from a can... One of these days I'll actually dig into a pumpkin, but not yet.) My crusts turned out great... Now I wonder what the heck I was so afraid of before! My next project for X-Mas will be a pecan pie, completely from scratch.

All of the food is out of the house now! YAY! I made Hank and Allison eat the last of the apple pie. I sweetened the deal by making whipped cream for them to put on it. Hank hurt by the end of the night. He says I'm trying to fatten him up! LOL! Poor guy has two women in his life who love to watch him eat. Luckily for him, I'm cooking healthily now!

MISBADU - That's awesome! You won't even think about the weight once you have that little blessing in your arms!

HOLA SARA, TIGERLILY AND LAUREN!!!

Hi All-

I have a no-show, so I have a moment to post. I can totally relate to the 'furnace inside' feeling - I used to be a complete cover hog - now I toss them off 8 times a night...

Heidi hasnt posted since the 18th. I'm hoping its something simple like a broken modem...

Lauren - so glad it was a sipmle fix for your tooth - now you can focus on DH's needs.

My DH is home with the flu... He better not give it to me b/c I havent had my shot yet... I need to remeber to ask at my OB appt on Wednesday.

How do you all feel about new versus used baby stuff? I am ok getting a used changing table and painting it, but I keep balking at getting a used travel system - they look ok - normal wear and tear - and are MUCH cheaper - $60 -$80 instead of $150-$200 but I adamatly want a new one. I dont know if this is pregnancy driven insanity or what.... I had planned on hitting the consignment shops after my showers but now I'm wondering if I will be doing this whole "I want new!" thing...

hi all,
Glad to see you all had a nice long weekend....
I GOT the job!!!! I found out thursday that i am having this promotion, and will be starting anytime soon... It is going to be very stressful but i knew it. My first sueprvisor here told me once that if you can do "child protection work / as investigation and stuff" for 2 years, you can do anything after that!!! So it is my own little challenge.

I also want to know about the flu shot... Can we get it if we are pregant? And can my son (13 months old) is too young to get it?

Thanks
Gen

Hi everyone- hope your Thanksgiving was very restfull. I ate way too much of course! We traveled to OKC, OK to spend a few days with all of hubby's family. It was really nice, but man did we eat! It was a 31 hour round trip drive for us- you can imagine I ate every 3 hours! Uggghh. No weight gain though so far.

Lauren- glad the dentist trip went well. I hate going to the dentist!

Sara- if you feel funny about buying something used- buy it new! Your instincts should signal something! If your baby's safey is in jeapordy, just buy it new, the peace of mind is worth it!

Jefinner- sorry about your little girl- glad the cut closed quickley! The pumpkin swirl cheesecake sounds awesome!

Misbadu- sleeping impossible the last month or so? I forgot what it was like, since my DD is almost 10. I guess everything hurts and baby moves a lot? That does not sound fun. I really really like my sleep. Hope it ends for you soon.

I have a 12 week ultrasound coming on Wednesday. The are going to take a better look at the cyst on my ovary and also date the pregnancy again. Two weeks ago at the U/S baby was showing a week behind . The doctor didn't seem concerned and said it was probably just her machine. I am worried eitherway. I have gained a solid 10 lbs- which I do think is excessive, but I am not too worried right now.

Hope you are all having a productive Monday- back in a bit,

Mrs Sarah- I haven't been here in a week- any news?

Morning Moms To Be!!

Not much to report on my end.

I'm pretty sure that today is the day that LAURA finds out what her baby is, hopefully she'll check in.

I've been thinking about SUMMER too, her sweet baby girl will be here anytime.

JENN: Sorry to hear about Allisons hand, I'm sure I would have completely freaked out. Sounds like you handled it like a pro. I'm glad she's okay.

I've been having TONS of braxton hicks contractions, I think I need to slow down and actually *relax* on the weekends (which is very hard for a busybody like me) I get to the point where I'm walking or bending over folding laundry and the BH's really catch me off guard and I have to sit down.

I'm going to FL with my mom from Wed-Mon so I'm looking forward to a nice relaxing week.

Has SARAH checked in?

Oh yeah, I'm officially in the 3rd trimester!! WooooHoooo!

Tracy and Stacy: No news yet! I should know any day now... I am cramping today, but it is kind of weird feeling. I don't really have cramps in my stomach, it just feels like my entire vagina is cramping. (Sorry, TMI). I've had that before though with past TOM's, but it's always been paired with tummy cramps too.

So, either TOM is on the way, or it's something else!

I am so excited I had to post these pix....

I just got a bunch of new cloth diapers as a gift from one of my girlfriends. They are soooooo cute I had to share.

These are the newborn ones......

and some are even in color....

I know I am one of the few using cloth, but still I thought you all could appreciate how cute these are.

MISBADU - I've seen those! They've definitely come a long way! I want to use them at home, even though I know I can't use them while the baby is at day care.

STACY - I can't wait until my third trimester. This pregnancy seems long already. I didn't find out until I was almost three months along with Allison, and they induced me two weeks early. With this one, it feels like I've been pregnant for an eternity...

Here's hoping you get lots of rest! You'll need it once your little baby gets here!

LAUREN - I'm with you on the used stuff. Although, I'm being a little snobby now. My parents bought me an entire furniture set... crib, cradle, changing table, toddler rocking chair, and high chair. But... I don't like it. It's the regular Jenny Lind collection in Oak. I found some others on BabyUniverse that were comparible in price, but much better. Oh well... I guess I shouldn't gripe about free stuff, huh? LOL!

TRACY - I'm glad your car trip went well. Heck, I had to make an emergency potty stop during one 1 1/2 hour trip lately! LOL!

GEN - DON'T get a flu shot. They advise that pregnant women shouldn't get one. I'm not sure about a 13 month old though. I never get them anymore anyway. I only get the flu once every couple years, and it's never bad. Plus, I end up feeling like crud for a day after I have the shot anyway.

SARA - I hope you stay well too! See what I wrote to Gen... No flu shots for the preggies!

SARAH - ****BABY WISHES AND PRAYERS**** I'm so hoping for you and DH to have a baby!

Hi ladies!!

Well, we had our big ultrasound today----It is a GIRL !!!! Well, they are 90% sure it is a girl. He said he will do another ultrasound on the 29th when I go back. We have the video of the ultrasound and some pics. It is not 3D though---now I really want one!!!!! Sam and I are in shock as we really thought it would be a boy--but we are thrilled!!
I have gained 18 pounds as I start my 24th week...not what I was hoping to do but what can I say, I eat crap too much. I only gained 3 pounds this last month though so I thought that was good considering it is right after T-giving and I have really popped out this last month

Back for personals in a sec..............
Laura

OMG you guys! You're making me cry! I'm so sorry I haven't posted in a while. It's been really crazy around here (home) and even crazier at work. I haven't really been posting anywhere lately. I snuck in some time this morning though. I've missed you guys tons!

My GD test came back negative ... phew! My original result was 150 and I guess anything over 139 is positive. All the results from the 3 hour test were normal, each and every one of them. I guess it was just a flukey thing but I'm SO relieved!!

I had an u/s last Monday to check for the baby's size because the doctor was thinking he was getting to big. He's about 3 lbs 5 oz right now so that's about the 58th percentile according to the doctor. Nothing to be concerned about. I just carry HUGE and now he knows that. But my doctor is very conservative so if anything is not "by the book" then he gets concerned. This little guy is hurting me a lot lately. Not just because of pressure and such but because he's poking the heck outta me! And I feel like he's doing to Riverdance on my bladder because I'm always in the freak'n bathroom! Oy ... only 10 more weeks to go! Yikes!! I've started my 2 weeks appointments now so now I know it's really getting close. I've gained a whopping 30 pounds already. The doctor doesn't want me to gain more than 3 pounds for the rest of the pregnancy. Yeah right! Oh well. At least it's still better than before. Oh, and I've been put on a sort of modified bedrest. I've been having BH contractions a lot, even walking around the grocery store will bring them on. So the doctor told me to really take it easy and save the walking trips for the end of the pregnancy. I'm still going out though but just taking things really slow. And when I'm home I'm using it to my advantage and having DH help more (hee hee).

I got a ton of Christmas shopping done over the weekend, both in stores and online. I'm excited because I've never been this close to being done this early before! What are you guys getting your DH's? He doesn't know what he wants and I certainly have no idea either.

CONGRATS EPIDOC! I love the name Jack! I'm going to have to go back and see if there was a picture posted!

I hope everyone had a great Turkeyday! I ate WAY TOO MUCH but only gained 1/2 a pound from it. It could have been much worse.

Thanks again for being concerned about me. I think the craziness is over now so I won't go long without posting again. Have a great day! I'll be back on later today or tonight from work. Ciao!

Soooo... You're only supposed to gain 3 more pounds AND you're on modified bedrest... Good luck girlie! That seems like a little much to ask. I guess just try as hard as you can to keep the junk food out of the house, so that it doesn't tempt you. (Like I'm a person to take advice from... )

Ok, let's see.........

JENN: I am "snobby" too. My parents laugh about how things have to be on my approved list. Oh well. I can't help it. I have gotten some used stuff too though.
Sorry about your daughter's hand---sounds like you did great with it. All our bad food is out of the house too--thank goodness. That cherry pie kept calling my name !!

MISBADU: Love those cloth diapers--so cute. I Am so hot at night also...I keep opening the windows and freezing my husband to death but it feels great to me and I sleep so much more soundly. I told him he may have to get an extra blanket for his side while I am pregnant.

SARAH: Keeping fingers crossed........Can't wait to find out!!!

STACY: 3rd trimester?? That means I have one more month I guess as I am 1 month behind you. Looks like we are both having little girls Have fun in FL...I am so jealous!!!

TRACY: Good Luck with your US !!!

GEN: I got the flu shot at the beginning of my 2nd trimester. I heard just not to get it in your 1st tri. I get one every year.

Morning Sara and Lauren!! and where is Heidi?????!!!!

and hello to anyone I missed!!

Good afternoon ladies!!!

Thanksgiving was great, but short. I didn't have off the entire weekend. Had to work Friday and Saturday, but I"m off today so all is well! LOL I put up my tree this weekend. Took me three days!!!!!!!!!!! I used to have it up in an afternoon, but I had to just walk away several times... frustration and being so dang tired. Not like me at all! DH came home sat. night and said "gosh you look soooooooooo tired... Why are you so tired? You went to bed last night at 9o'clock!" Needless to say he won't be asking me THAT question any more. lol

Sinnrah: good luck w/ your U/S. What are you hoping for?

Looper: congrats!!! Oh think of all the adorable dresses you'll get to dress her in!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a great day everyone!!!!!!!
