Morning Mommies!

Work is going to be a bear today. Dosent help that I was out 3 days last week... But I am verry happy that I am not on bed rest.

I am officially showing. There is no hiding this tummy. I decided yesterday that it is cute. DH wants to take a belly shot. I like that I look pregnant and not just fat. I also like that the MS is easing off and I have more energy!

Have a great day everyone! I'll check in later.

Crappy meetings most of the week so I'm not sure how much I'll be able to sneak upstairs to my desk! I'll be sure to check in at night if nothing else!

Hello everyone!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Sarajewel- I'm glad the nausea is wearing down.

Lauren- Your 12 weeks stomach is so cute. Mine is a little bit bigger.

I am officially wearing maternity clothes. I went out this weekend and bought the cutest clothes from Motherhood. Anyways I think I have really gotten rid of the MS monster. No MS since Wednesday. I have tons of energy too. This weekend I cleaned my whole house, top to bottom.

I even cooked dinner which I haven't done since I don't know when. I cooked baked chicken, homemade mac and cheese, green beans, cornbread, and sweet potatoes and for dessert peach cobbler. Oh man, It was delicious .

I have to leave work in a minute and go to the dentist to get my teeth cleaned. So I will check back a little later!

Happy Monday!

Morning ladies!

It's been forever since I checked in. I have been trying to keep up but I am just exhausted all the time now and work is still keeping me pretty busy. I am definitely ready for this baby to come now! I feel like a beached whale most of the time.

I go back to OB for another Ultrasound tomorrow. They are worried the baby is getting too big already! They are estimating over 9 lbs if I go all the way to my due date so they may induce after this next Utrasound. My original due date was Nov 16 and then they moved it to Dec 7th so now I think they want to see if she would be ok to come out now.

I'm thinking about all of you and sending healthy baby & pregnancy thoughts your way! It is really surreal to think that any day now I am going to have a baby! I still can't wrap my brain around the idea!

Sylv: i hope you are holding your baby in your arms by now!

Take care,

Summer

Sarajewel - Thats so cool you have a cute belly I hope I'll be that lucky, I'm afraid I'll just look fat though!

Lauren & Cynthia - Wow! You guys are already showing at 12 weeks!? My cousin is about 19 weeks and is just starting to show and just getting into her maternity clothes.

Nothing at all has sounded good to eat the past past few days. The thought of just about any food makes my stomach churn, but if I don't eat I seem to feel even worse. I can't wait for this nausea to stop!!!

Pretty boring week for me this week... I hate weeks when I don't have much scheduled. That means I have to do paperwork (ick!).

Hope everyones Monday is off to a good start

Well girls... I've been good the last few days!!! Friday, I finally gave into my week long craving for Chicken Strips. I tried to up my protein thinking I was just craving protein, but that didn't work. I still wanted the chicken strips.

Oh, I got my bedding too. Got it from Ebay for $30! Cool! Even the stuff I liked at Target was going to be well over $100 for the set. Just the bumper pad was $40... Anyway, I like this, and it'll be good for a girl or a boy, although the midwife has me convinced this one's a boy. (Plus, I'm carrying differently than last time.)

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=20420

SARA - Doesn't it feel better to feel pregnant instead of fat???

LAUREN - I'll have to check out your tummy pics after I post...

SUMMER - They did that with Allison. They took her two weeks early, although I really don't think I would've had any problem delivering a bigger baby. She was still 9lb 3oz... (Not like you could tell now... She's a beanpole!!!)

TRISHA - I feel for ya... The first trimester sucks!!!

Hi, everyone! I am new to this thread. I found out Friday that I was pregnant! It was not planned, but I've been wanting a baby for a while, so I am very happy. I'm almost 30, so I really didn't want to wait any longer. My BF of 4 1/2 years (living together for 2) was not happy at all. He doesn't like kids, and he was just not ready. I really hope that he will change his mind... He is willing to help me though, even get married, which he did not want to do just yet. I have no family in the US, and he has all his family in Ohio, so we're going to be moving there. That's a big sacrifice for him to give up his good paying job. Enough sappy story...

Anyway, I was trying to chart my basal body temp and cervical fluid since I got off my BCP 5 months ago. Because my cycles were so long, I only had 2 cycles worth of data to go on, and one day, oops. That was 10/26. So I'm 3 weeks. My first OB appt is not until early December. I splurged on Chinese this weekend to knock me out of ketosis. It was soooo good!

This is so amazing. It still doesn't feel real at times. I'm in love. It's hard to concentrate at work, especially because I'm going to the bathroom every hour! I haven't gotten sick yet, just a wave of uneasy feeling in the stomach once in a while. I'm dizzy today though.

Nice to "meet" you all, and have a happy Monday!

Hi everyone!

Well I am now 12.5 weeks and aren't I supposed to start feeling better? I think I slept more this weekend than the whole pregnancy!

I ate like a pig ALL weekend but at my doctor's appointment I was about 131.5 with clothes (129.5 at home) so I have gained about 4 pounds so far. With all the junko I have been eating that is pretty good

I had gestational diabetes with preg #1 but not preg #2 so preg #3 is a mystery so far. My dr says she'll do the glucose test at 18 weeks, but I had her prescribe me some blood sugar strips so I can test my own blood sugar at home with my blood sugar monitor.

An hour after last night's carb binge it was only 96, so it seems the diabetes hasn't struck yet. I am praying it never happens but statistically I am pretty likely to get it again. One good thing about having it is you HAVE to keep your eating in check ALL the time.

The m/s is still there too, although I have only thrown up 3 times.

Had another dr's appointment Friday, got to hear the little heartbeat for the first time with the Doppler.

Anyway another piece of good news is I can probably get my ultrasound before Christmas so maybe we can find out the gender and tell people at Christmastime. We'll see.

By the way, I swear I am feeling the baby move and have been for a while. But my doctor says it is WAY too early. Didn't Lauren and a few of you say you felt something? The movements are even in the spot where the doc got the heartbeat.

Talk to y'all later!
Abby

Morning everyone!!
Sorry I have been MIA--My husband had knee surgery last week so I was out with him. Only checked the board a couple times...

Welcome to all those who joined !!

I just finished up Week 21 and am feeling pretty good. I can't believe I am over 1/2 way there. I bought the paint for the nursery over the weekend. I am going with a light yellow. I can't wait to get that done so I can get the furniture all set up like I want.
I just found out today my last day at work is December 24th!! As I have previously mentioned--Our company is moving to NJ so our office is closing. Now I have to start thinking about temping for a few months so I don't sit around and go crazy waiting for this baby to come!

JENN: Love the bedding!! What a deal. I have bought some nursery stuff off ebay too.

PFgal: Cute belly pics!

Have a great day!!!
Laura

Good Monday LAdies!
Well I guess this week I have to drag myself to get my 1hour test. I was wondering since I was given no things to do before the test, what do I do before I get tested? Some ladies were talking about fasting or cards. Which ever let me know since I must go this week. I went fishing with my boy on the weekend and ever since I've been swelling up like the bloated dead fish that were along the shore! Or maybe it's my body telling me NO you can not going go fishing by myself anymore.
Hey how do you down load pic.s on here? __=== Nice stuff you got Jefinner!
=== welcome Katie
cheers me

Hello Moms!!

LAUREN: Your belly pics are great, you look awesome!!

JENN: Love the bedding, and what a great deal!

LAUREN: Where did you end up getting paint from? I think I'm going to use one of the Disney colors from Home Depot, we are doing a light yellow as well. I'm going to FL Dec.3-8 so Mike plans on painting it while I'm gone. YAY!

SUMMER: I'm glad you checked in and how awesome if you were able to have your baby early! I would love that. It is getting so hard to wait. Keep us posted.

Surely SYL has had her baby, I can't wait till she checks in.

Not much else to report on my end. Welcome KATIE!!
Little Cassidy is moving around tons now, I love it and I love that Mike can feel/see her moving too!!
I just called for the results of my GTT but they don't have them yet. Guess I'll call back tomorrow. I need to go get the Rhogam shot this week too!! YIKES, a shot in the butt, what fun!!

STACY: We got the paint from Lowes Home Center.....it is American Tradition brand..."Oatlands Daisy" color. I hope it turns out pretty. Lucky you getting Mike to paint...Sam (my hubby) hates painting and I don't feel like it so we are hiring this guy to do it this weekend I think....My husband is a builder so he knows lots of subcontractors so we hope to get a good price on it.

What is Rhogam?????

Hello Ladies!

Happy Monday, everyone! I had a nice weekend visiting with the in-laws. Everyone was really excited about the baby news, which made me feel great. I've been experiencing some pretty crazy mood swings and for the last few days, I've been feeling really down.

Thank you for your relies regarding weight gain during the first trimester. I decided that I'm just going to try my best to eat healthy and stop worrying so much about it.

I have another question (sorry - this is my first pregnancy and I don't see my doctor for another 2 weeks!). Did any of you experience cramping during the first trimester? I'm having cramps that are similar to TOM cramps. They aren't severe and I'm not spotting, but am still a little worried about it.

You all are making so excited about the nursey colors and bedding! I can't wait until I'm further along and get to pick colors and bedding too!

Well, I guess I should get back to work. I'll check back later. I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Sunnie

Well.. this has NOT been a good morning! Too much nausea and heartburn now too! Icky :P I'll get through it though... I think I just need to whine about it a little bit

Jennifer - I love your bedding. How adorable! I hadn't ever even thought to look for baby stuff on ebay. I really haven't used it much... I'll have to check it out a little more.

Sunnie - I've had a fair amount of cramping (similar to TOM cramps) for about a month now. From what I've read and heard from others that have been pregnant this is normal as long as it isn't accompanied by any bleeding. It is annoying though isn't it? It wakes me up lots at night

Well... I think I finally found a doc. Unfortounately my job is switching insurance providers in January so I had to find an OB that was on both insurance panels. Another drawback... she is closer to where I work (about a 50 minute commute) than from my home and I'll have to deliver in the hospital over here. I have an intake appointment scheduled with her nurse practiioner for next week. I can't wait!

SunnieGirl, I feel soooo much better now! I'm 3 weeks, and I've been having a little cramping here and there, too, nothing painful, only lasts a few seconds. It just feels weird, like I'm 1 day from TOM. I read that some cramping at the beginning is normal, but I don't know how long it's supposed to go on for. Have you visited pregnancy.org? They have a calendar that tells you each day what happens. It is pretty amazing. I get emotional every time I see it!

SUNNIE - Cramps are pretty normal. They shouldn't hurt bad, but they're uncomfortable...

STACY - Good for you! That's awesome that your hubby is going to paint for you! WOO HOO!

LAURA - Rhogam is something you have to take if you are Rh negative and the father is Rh positive... (Am I right, Stacy?)

KIT - For the test, all I remember having to do is fast. They did it because she was big, and they suspected Gestational Diabetes. He just asked how long it had been since I'd eaten, and we did it that day.

ABBY - I dunno if you're really feeling it or not. You very well could be... I'll be 19 weeks tomorrow, and I've just now started feeling this baby move. Maybe I've got a calm one. I think I remember feeling Allison pretty early on...

KATIE - Welcome!

Thanks Jenn!

Trish: My doc/hospital is about 50 minutes from my home too but closer to my work. I have just been going to my doc for like 13 years so I didn't want to change when I got pg just to be closer to home.

LAURA - I hear you on that one!!! My midwife is almost an hour away from home too... I could've found a more than competant midwife (with lots of wonderful references) that was only 20 miles away, but I can't explain it... I just had a really good feeling about mine. I say you should go with the doctor/midwife of your choice, no matter how far away...

Yep LAURA, JENN gave you the right answer. If you have a negative blood type (mine is A- ) so I will have the shot now and then again right after I deliver.

Beca's here!!!

Seconds old:

Hi everyone!

Our pride and joy Beca was born Monday, November 10th at 8:14 pm, weighing 8 lbs 4 oz.

Sorry I didn't report sooner but as you may see from the first picture above, I had a c-section and just came home Thursday night, and I'm just regaining some of my energy.

Here's how it happened:

Sunday night, 12:30 am - I'm in bed and feel sudden pressure on what I thought was my bladder (nothing new there) and get up to go to the bathroom. Instead of the usual short pee, this just keeps on going! When I look down, I see there's a little blood in there too. Whoa boy! I call my midwife and she says the blood is OK, it's just some capillaries that can break when your water breaks. She says contractions could start soon, and it could be real or false labor, to call her back if they start intensifying, etc.

Well, within half an hour, the ctx start coming on faster and stronger, and by 2:30 am we're at the birthing center with my midwife. She's prepared the room for us and we've got candles and music going. For every ctx, I squeezed Brian's finger HARD, and he was my anchor. I took a few baths, changed positions a few times, saw daybreak but I had literally no notion of time. Within 9 hours, I was fully dilated, but Beca had not descended far enough for me to push. We waited 4 more hours and still she wouldn't move down, so we decided to transfer to the hospital. (Bumpy ambulance rides with ctx aren't the greatest, let me tell ya.)

At the hospital, I asked for an epidural and relaxed a bit before they asked me to try to push her down, even though it wasn't yet "time" to push. Apparently I pushed great, but she still wasn't budging. After 8 hours at 10 cm, the doctor recommended a c-section, believing the head was too big for the birth canal. I agreed, so off we went. Things went so fast, and it wasn't scary at all! It was AMAZING to hear her first cry (see pic above), and then to meet her for the first time. I was balling my eyes out. Then they gave me morphine and things got a little fuzzy.

But Brian cut the cord and was the one to wheel her to the nursery, and then they sat him down to rock her. That's the (fuzzy) sight I saw as I was wheeled to the recovery room, and it was Brian's turn to be balling his eyes out.

We spent 4 days at the hospital and the staff was wonderful. The hardest thing was learning to breastfeed. I swear, I found it harder than labor. After just one night of improper latching, my nipples were badly bruised and extremely sore. The only time I lost it through this whole experience was when a lactation consultant taught me proper latching and had me bite the bullet through the pain. MAN, was that hard. But now, we're both doing much better, as are my nipples, thank you very much. Whew! And here's my precious angel just 2 days ago:

5 days old:

Well that's about all the time I have. I hope everyone is doing well!

Sylvie

PS: I forgot to add that the reason she never moved down was because she was posterior (facing up) and neither the midwives (2 of them) or the OB could tell from examining me. Go figure!
