want to be pregnant but want to be skinny too!
If I haven't bored you with the details before, I just had my first IVF cycle and am in the dreaded 2 week wait. I had to stop exercising about 3 weeks ago and I happily resigned myself to just hoping to maintain.
Well all of a sudden EVERYONE notices how much I've lost and compliments me constantly. Doesn't that figure? I will hopefully be gaining weight very soon and then I guess people will be saying "see, that diet doesn't work!" I'll say this though and don't take this the wrong way......... I have been so much happier with my body since I moved my focus from losing weight to making this cycle work. DH says I've been carrying myself differently. No matter how this cycle turns out, I can be proud of myself in knowing I got myself as healthy as I could for it. I had to have helped my chances a lot.Couldn't have made it this far w/o this BB's help and my journey is not over yet! Still got 18 pounds to go, whether it's now or after a very happy "hitch in the road".

I feel this way too, I have a 2 year old son and it took a while and some treatment for me to get pregnant, I have been thinking about trying for another one but I really want to reach my goal. I have mixed feelings but I think for now I will take care of myself for a while, I am 28 and have time for another in a few years and in the same breath I say we will leave it in gods hands, if it happens I will be thrilled. Sorry I dont have advice to offer because I am confused as well but wanted to let you know you are not alone.

exactly newbarnes!
DH was just saying how I've done so well and it's too bad that I'll have to do it all over again (hopefully!). I'm not bothered by that at all. I know now that I can do it! Plus, thinness will be more recent in my memory and I'll remember why I want to get back there!

Thanks Angie
It helps just to know that someone else understands how it feels to have two goals that are sorta in conflict.
Best of luck to you however you decide to handle it. I didn't lose as much as I wanted to before this cycle but my RE really urged me to forge ahead. The waiting is killing me though. |

Peach,
May you be blessed with a beautiful happy and healthy child Don't get your undies in a bunch about not exercising. I was involved in motorcycle accident in the begining of September. I had 5 broken ribs and a collapsed lung. I'm just begining to get back into cardio and easing into a bit of strength training. I just tried watch portions and to eat low carb the best I could during that time. I was not in ketosis and did not want to induct again until I was off all of my meds. The meds were pretty binding on their own I have not gained anything even after being pretty much bed ridden for 2-1/2 weeks at the begining of my recovery. You're going to do just fine. The little one will keep your skinny butt moving "Ditto' ![]()

Good luck!!
We've been TTC for a little while now and every 2WW, I get all conflicted, but ultimately, for me I want another baby more than I want to lose weight . Since we'd like a large family, I figure I'll have lots of time after I'm done having kids to get skinny . If that's not how things work out, I'll just keep losing weight while waiting, lol!Carla V. |
