Well I added SunnieGirl to the list. If there is anything different let me know.

I am up so freaking early. Jim will be gone until Friday. And I decided to get up w/ him. I plan on walking today again. And then shopping tomorrow. While he is gone I am going to get his Christmas presents.

I already bought two of them..but he was w/ me...and decided he wanted to have those for his Birthday...which is Dec. 9. So I said ok.

Hope all is well w/ everyone yesterday. I feel better today about everything. I hate these freaking hormones though. I am definitely calling the doctor today about it.

I also had to put up the rest of my pre pregnancy clothes last night. It is official...I am too big for everything now..except maternity clothes. So...I went and bought some blue jeans last night...and I bought a size ten but they were too freaking long..so I get to return those for something I really wanted. LOL

Anyhoo...I will check in later...I know it is wayy to early to be rambling..

Nothing much new in my neck of the woods...I'll check back later!

Hi all,

I have been off the computer for a little while but wanted to let you know i am doing better. The bad feeling is mostly gone, except for after supper now.... i always feel that i am going to be sick, can't seem to be able to digest anything well.... but i am getting some sleep a bit, so that is a major change in my life...

I applied for a new position at work. I work for the Children'd Aid, in Canada. I am a social worker and what i do now is i take all the calls from people who wants to get some help or want to talk about a abusive situation involving children... What i am applying for is a position of investigation. I will be going to evaluate all the families, to see what can be changed in their lives to make it easier to rase the kids... ( i am french and am having a hard time translating the job description here....lol) Anyways, i am looking forward to start that job. I just need challenge before i go on maternity leave. Here we have 15 months off.... which is very good but with Anthony, i went back to work at 7 months cause i needed to get out of the house and see other people and feel that i am doing something positive in my life, other than change diapers and eveything. This time, i planned to take my whole 15 months off as it cost too much with the babysitter.... espacially with 2 under 2...!! So here i am, pregnant and looking for challenge! I sound crazy...totally. I will keep you posted if i get it, i am afraid that they might want me to wait whenever i get back... but i want this change now.
So that'S about all i have new in my life right now. Just wish me luck!!

Good luck on getting the new position, Genifire!! I think getting 15 months off is GREAT!!!!!! WOW!!! I am so jealous, girl!!!! So, you are fluent in French (it's your 1st language, right)? I have a French pen pal and she is wonderful in English. She actually came to visit me in the US for 2 weeks when we were in the 10th grade!! It was awesome!

Hello everyone.

Well Sinnrah I can relate, in a little different way. Prior to getting pregnant I had lost about 56lbs in a 5 month period. So when I got pregnant I slowly started to out grow my new thinner clothes and started growing back into my larger clothes. Well now those clothes are getting uncomfortable. Mostly the pants are getting tight around the waist, and shirts are too short. My belly sticks out too far and the pants just cut into it. So yesterday I broke down and bought my first actual maternity clothes. I got a 2 pairs of pants, and a couple of shirts. With only 2 months to go I did not want to spend the money, but I decided I would rather be comfortable over the next couple of months then have to stress over clothes.

This weekend is my shower. I am looking forward to seeing my family and getting some of my first baby things. So far I have not bought any baby things, so it should be fun.

Tigerlilly - I saw your post yesterday about weight gain, my gain from 20 to 28 weeks so far was the largest jump. Now I have slowed down again. So don't worry, I think you are just in the middle phase where you will gain a little more quickly.

Christy - Keep us posted. Hopefully everything will go well. On the bright side at least you get to have another ultrasound! I only got the routine one at 20 weeks and not another.

Genfire - You are so lucky! Enjoy that time off. I am looking at only 6 weeks off, 3 paid and 3 unpaid.

To everyone else...here is some info on cloth diapering. Just thought I would pass it along. I know we had this discussion a while back, but I read this article and thought it would be good to share. Also here is a quote I got off a natural mothering website:

Quote:
The percentage of American babies who wore COTTON DIAPERS in 1955 was 100%.
In 1991 it was 10%.
The percentage of American babies who wore DISPOSABLE DIAPERS in 1955 was 0%.
In 1991 it was 90%.
The percentage of American babies who experienced DIAPER RASH in 1955 was
7.1%. In 1991 it was 78%.

Hope everyone has a great day!

MsBadu-i had bought maternity clothes a while back. LOL But didnt have to really wear them until now. LOL But I am actually doing better w/ it today. I am glad that I am out of that stage where I look fat. You can finally tell that I am pregnant. Not really pregnant...but that my pooch is not a fat pooch ya know?

Genfire-glad you are feeling better.

PFgal-I am w/ you on the disposable diapers..forget clothe. LOL

well I am still debating on whether or not to go shopping. I have been pampered all week by my hubby. He is buy me all kind of cool little costume jewelry to make me feel better since clothes are out of the question right now. LOL Which I will always settle for costume jewelry.

Anyhoo...I gotta run...need to smack my cats around...

Morning Mommies!

I just woke up. I got up at 6 to go to work but I have a sinus infection and every time I stood up my head just swam and the ms is back and I couldnt keep the sudafed down... So I bagged it. I havent missed 2 days of work in a row in forever. But I feel a little better so it is worth it.

msbadu - I totally wanted to do cloth but I dont have a washer here and there are no services so its disposable. That and I will probably go back to work at 8 weeks Have a blast at your shower!

Genifire - That is totally awsome that you get such a long leave. I'm a social worker too. I work with people with mental illness. I love it.

Sinnrah - Go find some clothing you love. I lost 35 pounds before becomming pregnant so I'm still in my fat clothing. I did have the epiphany experience last night of looking down in the shower and not being able to see my feet....

kit - Your brother in law is a brave man. Say something like that to me on the wrong end of a hormaonal shift and I might have hurt him. Or, I would have burst into tears and my DH who is becomming so protective of me he doesnt know what to do with himself would have decked him....

Lauren - have fun with your spread sheets - those things make me dizzy.

Hiya

I hope everyone is doing well. I was wondering if I might join your group? I just found out I was pregnant last Thursday... it was a COMPLETE surprise. I think I'm about 6 weeks along, but I'm not totally sure... still awaiting the doctors blood test.

I've been doing Atkins quite some time, though I hadn't had much success untill the past 3 months. I found out in January my thyroid was low and we got that regulated. The last three months I dropped 18 pounds. I was so thrilled... but so much for the weight loss now! I actually gained 5 pounds in the last 2 weeks... I think a combination of eating toast and saltines all day (because I've had such bad nausea) and some water retention. How depressing.

Well, aside from the halt on weight loss I'm very excited to be pregnant. Even though my husband and I didn't intend on trying for another year we are both happy.

I look forward to talking to you all in the future!

Trisha

Hello, Ladies!

I just want to thank you for the warm welcome yesterday. I'm so excited about this pregnancy and finding your group!

DH and I told our parents last night that I'm expecting. Both sets of parents were thrilled. This is my mother's second grandbaby (brother has a little girl) but this is DH's mom's first.

So far I've managed to keep some food down today. Unfortunately, most of it was saltine crackers and dry toast. I just had some chicken noodle soup for lunch, so we'll see how that goes. I've never felt hungry but naseous at the same time before!

Well, I just wanted to check in briefly before my next work meeting. I'll be back later. I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Sunnie

Hello again.

Just wanted to share some advise for all of those suffering from morning sickness. The following is what I did, and helped some. I had it so bad that I tossed my cookies at least 3-4 times a day.

Never let your stomach get empty. (eat lots of small meals and snacks)
Saltine crackers - (carried them with me everywhere I went)
Ginger snaps and Ginger ale - (not sure why but ginger seems to help)
Always eat a snack before bed - usually something with protein (Cheese sticks or some cold chicken is what worked for me) and always eat breakfast right away when you get up in the morning (dry cereal, or toast was what I did a lot)
Nap - I am not sure why, but if I was tired, then the nausea was worse. I would take my lunch break from work and nap then just eat my lunch during the day at my desk. That nap is literally what saved me in the afternoon.
Sea bands - I wore these for about a month, I am not sure how, but they did help. Made me feel silly like a jogger but it worked.
Unisom and Vitamin B6 - After a while I was so desperate I asked my midwife what to do and she suggested taking 1/2 a pill of Unisom and vitamin B6 at night before bed. WOW - this really worked. I felt tired from the Unisom, but way way way less nausea!!!

Smells really got me. Perfume, air fresheners, anything. I had my sister come over to my house and get rid of any air fresheners in my house and then box up all my candles and incense then clean the house with bleach so that there was a neutral smell in my house. (I had ms so bad the smell of my house made me sick, I think it was because I have a million vanilla candles) Who knows.

Anyhow....please any one else add what helped you. Hope this helps.

Good afternoon ladies!

I hope everyone is well.

I just made it in to work at 1pm. I was off yesterday too because I work for a gov't contractor so it was nice to be off however I was so sick. So thanks to you Sarajewel I went out and bought some sea bands. I hope they start kicking in.

Welcome to Trishagrrl and Sunniegirl! Congratulations on your pregnancy.

DH and I went Christmas shopping earlier today. I feel a little bit better now that I have some of it out of the way.

Lauren please throw some energy dust my way. You seem to have so much and I am such a poop.

I have started to gain some weight now. My pants are getting a bit tighter. I'm going to go get me some shirts because my breast are bursting out. I had to purchase new bras already. I went from a 34B to a 36D. My DH is enjoying them as well.

Well I'm so sick of work. I get 120 days off for maternity leave and I plan on taking all 120 days. I am going to work PT after the baby so I can be home more. My job is very demanding around this time of year. (I'm an accountant) and it is going to get so busy in the coming months that I need to get ready. I hope I get some energy by then. It's so frustrating that I want to cry....

Oh well my DH has been great! He is being so supportive. He is even having morning sickness with me. LOL

Well I hope everyone has a blessed day!

Cynthia

Misbadu, good tips about morning sickness. I tried the sea bands too but I don't think they worked at all. The relief band, however, DID (although it was MUCH more expensive) Again, let me plug the www.reliefband.com and preggiepops.com for all the morning sickness sufferers. I've been pregnant more times than I care to admit and these are the only things that consistently worked for me.

I will hang in there on the weight gain. It's just a little alarming to gain 3 lbs in one week after gaining 3 lbs a month. You know? But I'm down a pound since yesterday so now it's 2 lbs in the past week so I guess that's not too bad. It's probably the loads of chocolate I've been eating. I'll just make better food choices and try to take a walk every day.

Sinnrah: I am totally with you on the weight gain. It takes some getting used to. Of course, you are starting off so slim anyway. I think we are about the same height (although I've always been medium boned and muscular) my goal weight was 130 and I was still about 10 lbs away from that when I got pregnant. But I KNOW it's really depressing to see the scales go in the wrong direction. I will say: get prepared, once you hit around 18-20 weeks things will really start happening. I was the same way as you my first pg, wearing regular clothes until well into the fourth month then BAM I just grew overnight. This time, things happened a little more slower but I could still fit into my regular pants at 16 weeks (if I held my breath) I recommend Ebay for maternity clothes. I bought nearly an entire pregnancy wardrobe, cute maternity nightie, capris, jeans, pants, dresses, you name it all for less than $50. It was amazing. I love ebay. Buy yourself some cute stuff and enjoy your growing tummy!
