Well to let you all know I flubbed up yesterday and had ice cream...so let the noodle beating begin.
I have such a hard time w/ my eating. I was very depressed yesterday..the scales have shot up and now I am up to 121. I dont get it...but I guess I never will. I am seriously trying to ride this pregnancy thing out and be happy..but man my hormones are all over the map. Which in turn sent Jim to Dairy Queen last night. Which in turn made me feel even more like crap. Oh well, today is another day and I am going to walk if it kills me. Talk to you all later OH and Happy Veterans Day to everyone too...

Oh SINN!!!! ((((HUGS))))
LAUREN - How do you do all of this??? You tire me out reading your posts... LOL! Okay, here's my rant for the day... I can't complain much, but I swear... I get so aggravated at NOTHING... LOL! Since I can't scream, I want to cry. Is that bad? So should I scream or cry? Maybe everyone will stop bugging me if they think I'm crazy... Oh, and I'm stinky today. Against my better judgement, I had a piece of leftover pear pie (Hank's mom is evil, I'm tellin' ya), and if I eat anything with wheat in it... WATCH OUT!!! Especially now that I'm pregnant, I've been droppin' some severe bombs. Hank says he doesn't know how so much stink can come out of me. Said that I should try to market my services as an exterminator. Turdhead. Well, at least he still finds me sexy... Stink and all... Okay, I just had to get that off my chest. LOL! I'm better now. Stinky, but better. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Sinrah (hugs)- don't stress about it!! I saw your picture and believe it or not- you are sooo tiny!!! (I need to take my own advice I think)- YOU ARE PREGNANT. You have your WHOLE life to diet, exercise and stress about your weight and the way you look. This is only 9 months of your life! You are growing another human inside you- your hormones, weight, cravings, mood swings, etc are all out of your control. It's hard work growing a baby. Relax- enjoy the ride. Eat as healthy as possible, exercise when you can, take your prenatels, get plenty of rest and enjoy this very very short little ride!! The more you stress- the worse it is going to be! This is all going to be over in the blink of an eye and you will be looking at your 1 year old wondering where the time went! lol. Take it easy, you look beautiful!
You are doing something right now millions of women would gladly gain 50 lbs to do and never will get the chance because of circumstances beyond their control. You will get this weight off after the baby and look beautiful! Hang in there. Hi to all mommies! Mrs. Sarah- those items went in the mail this morning Sorry about the ugly wrapping- it was the best I could do last night!Good luck! |

I am going to seriously get my act togther. It always seems when I try I fail. I am not used to that. But thanks for the encouragement... Jen-{hugs} we can cry together. ok? |

Happens to the best of us! Welcome Sunny! Finally! There will be someone under me on the name list!! Yah! Any morning sickness yet? I can't attest for everyone else here, but for now, I am just trying to stick to 75-100 grams of carbs a day. Most days I am way over that. Lots of veggies, lean meats, eggs, yogurt and fruit. Trying to stear clear as much as possible from french fries, pizza, burgers, anything fried or fatty or anything with wheat or flour. Good luck! Slyv??? Baby yet? Sinnrah- you probably walked off that little bit of ice cream you ate! Don't worry. Have you tried the new Breyers Carb Smart? It's to die for and only 4 grams per cup! It is so good! Better than regular ice cream. I usually have a little every other night or so. Last night I had homemade peach cobbler. Ohhh. Not much, just a little but it was soooo good. Thanks mom ![]() |

Hello everyone. Quiet today in here. I am use to there being about 15 posts by this time.
![]() Sinnrah and Jefinner - You guys are both at about the same stage in pregnancy. I am not surprised you are both feeling similar. I promise you that you are both so close to that second trimester flood of positive energy. I felt so much better after about 20 weeks. I mean you still have the pregnancy aches and pains, but you have a lot more positive energy. The moods level out a little, and its just easier to deal. It happens very subtly, but you will feel better soon. Just hang in there and really hang on to the feeling when you have one of those good days. Cravings however, I can not tell you those go away. Mine have got worse, but I am just trying to enjoy them rather than beat myself up. An occasional ice cream you deserve, so don't stress, just enjoy! Welcome Sunny. I am far from the ideal maintainer. I have given way to major carb creep. (my weakness is the sweet stuff) Now I am lucky to eat true maintaince about 3 days a week. The rest of the time that darn sweet baby who loves chocolate gets me to eat all sorts of delicious chocolate treats! Some others on this board may be doing better and can offer advice. Ideally I try to eat lots of veggies, including extra spinach and broccoli (salads, steamed veggies etc), and lean meats. Supplementing with fruit, mainly melon and berries, with the occasional apple. Yogurt, cheeses, and creams. Then eating whole grain toast once and a while for breakfast. I eat like that about 1/2 the week. Weekends I usually break down and have eaten everything I should not, including french fries. OUCH! So hard to resist those cravings. Anyhow, welcome and good luck! Lauren - I agree with Jefinner, Where do you get all that energy? Hope everyone has a great day today! I am feeling much better today. More energy than yesterday. Drinking lots of water. I swear that makes such a BIG difference. So here is my reminder to everyone today....DRINK YOUR WATER! Okay off my soap box! Happy Tuesday to everyone!

Thank you for the welcome! Everything just seems unreal right now. I still can't believe that there's a little baby growing inside me right now.
![]() Tracy - Glad I can keep you company towards the bottom of the name list! I have been experiencing some morning sickness only it seems to be lasting all day! I'm feeling queasy and very tired. I also have a terrible headache. Thank you for the carb count suggestions. I think I'll try to stay between the 70-100 gram range too.misbadu - Thanks for the diet tips. I think staying on maintenace 3 days of the week is great - especially with the cravings! Right now I don't have any types of cravings - mostly because my tummy is upset all of the time. ![]() I just went to the store to buy lots of veggies, some whole wheat bread (Country Hearth Lite - 4 carbs per slice), yogurt, and fruit (grapes and strawberries). Hopefully I can try to get something down for dinner.

Happy Tuesday everyone and welcome Sunnie!
I haven't written in a couple days because things have been a little hectic and I haven't had much to report. I went for my ultrasound on Friday and learned that I'm not carrying twins. Just one little bugger. It was great to actually see the adorable little baby and get my first baby pics, but unfortunately the ultrasound really didn't help to ascertain why my AFP results came in high, so I haven't had relief/reassurance about it. The ultrasound showed my dates as slightly off (6 days.. where my original expected delivery date was 4/11/04, the ultrasound showed 4/17/04) but that didn't explain the test results. I didn't get an opportunity to see the doctor on Friday, only the lab technician who couldn't really tell me anything. When I called the doctor yesterday he hadn't gotten my u/s results yet and couldn't say anything then either (talk about frustrating! ) I got a call from him today and he confirmed that the 6 day difference in dates was insignificant, and that he wasn't intending to change my EDD. Now he's referring me to a perinatologist for a more detailed ultrasound. I'm waiting for a call from them to schedule that for later this week. Based on the results of that, they may or may not recommend an amniocentisis. I don't think I'm going to allow it, but I'm so unsure of everything right now. They did detect a fibroid on my uterus and they're going to want to monitor that. It explains why I've been cramping for the past 4 months, I guess. Apparently with the increase of estrogen and bloodflow it's pretty common for them to grow during pregnancy which could cause complications down the road.Anyway - hope everyone's doing ok. I'll write more when I'm not feeling so "in the dark". Christie

Christie- glad you got to see your little one on the US! Awesome huh? Hope everything works out and you get the news you need. Please keep us informed.
Anyone have any experience with cysts on the ovaries? My dr detected one at my ultrasound but nothing has been said about it. I don't know what the procedure is for further testing or if it's even necessary. |

Had a good day and found PERFECT fabric for the computer room valances! We're doing a neato design where you staple the fabric to a board and hang it up - my Mom is going to be the lead on that project, haha! I'll take pics when it's done! Mac is at dance class right now so I have an hour of freedom....oh how sweet it is!! LOL!
My belly has been feeling so weird lately, anyone else this way? Not my belly like gas, grumbling, etc..., but I mean my actual stomach. Like achy or something. Maybe it's muscles...I dunno!! I DO NOT want to return to work tomorrow. At least Friday is my day off, but Wed. and Thurs. are going to be tough, especially after having off today. I'll manage...somehow...haha! ![]() |

Tracy - I had an ovarian cyst show up on my first ultrasound at 8 weeks. The tech said that they are normal and it was gone at today's (12 weeks).
Christy - I have a fibroid too. 4 weeks ago it measured 2 centemeters. Today it measured 3.3 centemeters. The tech said that rapid growth of fibroids was common in pregnancy because of the increased blood flow and the rising hormone levels. I plan on asking about it at my next appointment. hope you get some more information soon! The ultrasound was very cool. At first the kid was just swimming like mad - looked like a little sea turtle. Then it calmed down and we were able to see the face, arms and legs and even fingers. I should be able to hold back some of the neurotic worry for a week or two... Sunnie - Welcome and congratulations! Sinnrah - Go easy on yourself - into every pregnancy some ice cream must fall - its a biological imperative. Hello to everyone else!

Boy am I a dork. I posted this under Monday's thread. Today is TUESDAY! That long weekend got to me I guess.
Anyway, are any of you REALLY keeping track of your weight and how many carbs a day you eat? I have been faithfully logging every day in Fitday and weighing myself EVERY morning and trying to watch what I eat. True, I've been cheating a lot lately because of that halloween candy but not THAT bad. Once I hit 20 weeks I have just been PILING it on, and I'm really not eating all that differently. At 13 weeks, I'd only gained 3-4 lbs and was so proud. At 20 weeks I had only gained 8-9 lbs and was really proud of myself. I'm only 23w3d and today I had gained 13 lbs!!!! That seems a little excessive doesn't it? I was doing SO GOOD weight-wise but it is just piling on the last few weeks. I am really panicking. I mean, I've gained 3 lbs just in the last week! I can't keep that up or I'll explode. I vaguely recall being the time between 20-28 weeks to be the time when I gained the most...so I'm trying not to panic. But still. Tigerlily
