Morning Mommies!

My weight is up... Gotta stop eating so much junk. Have to have a heart to heart with DH who keeps bringing it home.... Course I'm the one who eats it...

Went to Babies R Us this weekend - What a place! It wasnt too crouded but there were lots of people with registries... We tried out a bunch of the strollers and looked at playyards etc. The furniture seems really expensive! We liked the Graco Quatro travel system best - anyone have any experiences good or bad with these?

Happy Monday!

Morning gals! Hope everyone had nice, restful weekends! We painted the computer room, they started our screened in porch and deck, and we just kept busy with a few other little house projects. It's really coming together now! We moved into the house in July (took them FOREVER to build it!) and it's finally becoming a real HOME with lots of personal touches! I love it!

Today is back to the grind.... I work 9 hour days and have every other Friday off, so that does make it nice. This Friday is my day off and I am going to chill at home and await a furniture delivery and also our shed is being delivered that day. I might just surprise Dean and paint our bedroom! We bought the paint over the weekend, but got so caught up in doing the computer room that we didn't get to the bedroom yet. We'll see!!!

I'll be gabbing all day...

Hi all

For those of you who didn't check in over the weekend, I got to have an ultrasound Friday after my dr's appt., and got to see the baby! It was so awesome to see that tiny beating heart and little arms and legs!

The tech said everything looked good, and baby measured at 9 weeks, so I am a little further along than I thought. My due date is now 5/28/04 according to the ultrasound. I assume since it is an early ultrasoud this will become my official due date, am I right?

Anyway can someone change my due date and weeks on the list. I turn 10 weeks on Friday and the new due date is 5/28/04

I am officially wearing maternity since I can't fit into my old pants anymore. Most of my shirts come to my waist so I can't wear my regular shirts with maternity pants.

Listen to this - dh and i were at a conference at our church on Friday night. I was wearing maternity stretch jeans - did not look maternity. And a brown shirt that really looked pretty normal too. Some guy I barely know calls out to me as I walk by - "Hey - are you pregnant again?" and about 15 heads turn and stare at me.

Of course I admitted I was, but I thought that was pretty bold and a little rude of him. I really didn't think anyone would say anything at this point. Well the rest of my maternity stuff looks maternity so everyone will know anyway.

Lauren, have people been asking you since you started wearing maternity?

Anyway hope you all have a good day - talk to you soon

YES! It definitely makes it more obvious, and even the ones who aren't asking (like at work), are looking at me and I know that they're thinking I am, but probably don't want to come out and ask for fear that I may say I've just gained weight, haha!

The guy at church should have asked you a little more quietly so that everyone wouldn't hear him. The dork!

Heidi - Your new signature is super cute!!

I think it's crappy that starting today we're not supposed to have pics on our signature line. I'm ready for next month and hopefully we can go back to putting them in. I love the pics in the signature line!

Lauren - Do you know when you ovulated? Take the number of weeks from that date and add 2. Thats what my Dr did for me b/c my cycles are so irregular then they confirmed it with ultrasound. The way I'm counting it from your dates you are 9 weeks and 2 days today... Lets see what your Dr. Says tomarrow! How exciting!

According to the website I used, I ovulated on the 5th or 6th of September, so if I go from that date I think it does make more sense! I remember having a complete understanding of this a few weeks back, and now I'm confused again, hahaha!

Trying out my new avatar!

Wow, I've really been missing in action, haven't I?

I had another flare-up of bronchitis and asthma and have been doing really poorly, up until about the past 5 days. My new doctor also put me on Prilosec, since apparently heartburn can trigger asthma attacks and I'm under orders to eat super-tiny meals without liquid until my airways calm down and sleep in my recliner.

Yeah, it sounds a bit melodramatic, but then again... last week I was starting my car and driving out of a parking lot and I had one of my attack / coughing fits and accidently floored the gas pedal. The man in the truck in front of me got quite angry as I nearly avoided hitting him by slamming on the brake and sliding to the side. Luckily, it wasn't a jarring stop and no collision.

He was just about to get out of his car to find out why some looney would suddenly race up behind him and do that, when I opened my car door and started vomiting.

Needless to say, he just kinda drove slowly away and I straggled into work, grateful for the secret shampoo and towel I keep in my desk drawer

Auuuuuggggggggh!

So what did I do this weekend? I was actually feeling better enough to help my husband and father put down laminate flooring in our bedroom... We have the crib and changing table in there, too, so it's "cozy."

I'm still managing to drag my butt to work, although I'm getting worried that I won't be able to hang on through the end with the winter coming (I'm in Maine, remember!) and all the icy parking lots and millions of flights of stairs in this building.

Maybe I can convince them to let me work from home a few days a week as the holidays get closer. I'm thinking that's the plan. Actually, right now I'm just happy I can breathe again.

My classes are falling way behind though, I'm worried I'm going to flunk out of one But still, I can breathe!

And tomorrow, I go for my 20 week ultrasound! YAY!

Now, about everything else that's been going on

Tigerlily: congrats on the boy! You must be so excited to finally know. I know it's driving me crazy not to!

Summer: Where are you?

Sarajewel: I'm in the same boat with you weight wise. It's like something's wrong with me and I can't even seem to "think straight" when I go to eat something. Almost **** I didn't low carb for 3 plus years and have forgotten. I feel terrible about it, but I don't seem to have the energy to pull it together, either.

Jefinner: Your wedding sounded incredible. What a romantic, intimate, and real experience. Best of luck to you and Hank and your growing family

Ack, I have to cut this short. Something about being at work and a department meeting.

Hang in there, everybody

Glad to hear from you, 3Diva! Thank goodness your incident the other day didn't result in a collision, and glad to hear you're feeling better. Sounds like you have a lot of stressful things happening, so take it easy and follow those doctor's orders. Good luck on the 20-week U/S tomorrow!!

Morning everyone...........

I already miss the siggy pics

TIGERLILLY: How exciting-- A BOY! Send some boy vibes my way too please

PFGAL: I dunno about counting weeks other than I started with the 1st say of my last period and counted week by week....like my last period was June 23rd and I am 18 weeks today. I haven't had an ultrasound since 11 weeks but it worked out exactly as the count. I am sure your doc can help you Can't wait to hear how it goes!!!

STACY: Hope the moving is going good! Don't work too hard.

3DIVA: Glad you weren't hurt!! Poor thing!

ABBY: Glad your appointment went well!! and how rude of that man to be so loud about it!!! People amaze me!

SARA: I am with you on the food thing--I have done so bad these last couple weeks...and I go back to the doc next Monday. I dread the scale. I am sooo hungry lately----french fries, bojangles, pizza...ARGH!!!!!! I have already eaten 2 pieces string cheese, 2 slices WW toast, about 1 cup grapes, 3 pieces of honeydew melon and 1/2 blueberry muffin.....MY LORD! and I am hungry again!!! BRU is overwhelming. My hubby and I went a few weeks ago--we like the Graco Quatro too--the kenwood pattern is what we registered for. My mom thinks it is HUGE but we like it---I get mixed reviews on travel systems vs. separate strollers/car seats from friends.

JENNIFER: Your wedding sounded perfect! How sweet. Congrats!!!

I am excited..I won some bids off E-bay for nursery decorations....I am doing the Pottery Barn Moon and Stars and got a cute moon and star bank set and a PB wall hanging...I have never done the e-bay thing before---They do have some good stuff!

Have a good day!!!
Laura

Man, I miss the siggy pics too! Ah well!

LAUREN - WOW! You sound like such a busy girl. How do you have the energy now? I know that until a few weeks ago, I was a big blob of laziness.

SARA - I know what you mean about the junk... Except I AM the one who does the shopping. I told Hank that we both needed to focus on eating right, and he said, "Okay, but first you have to stop shoving blueberry muffins in my mouth!" I'm bad... I made a big batch yesterday morning. Ah well... LOL!

ABBY - That's just weird. I never EVER comment on anyone being pregnant unless I KNOW they are. Otherwise, I'm afraid I might offend. Like that butthead did...

((((DIVA)))) - Sounds like you've been having a rough time! Take care of you, okay!!!

LAURA - I've been looking on ebay for stuff too. I haven't bid yet, but we'll see!

Thanks Looper!! You know, I always have a million "symtoms" of pregnancy, but so far they have not been a real. I have some this month as well. I have cramped most of the month, had a middle of the month acne breakout (I usually get them right before TOM) and strange feelings in my abdomen. But, I'm taking them with a grain of salt.

Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts!!

Shouldn't it be 8 weeks 4 days. August 23- to- October 23 is 8 weeks. Today is the 27th.

PFGAL: I get the same as Sara for you---9 weeks 2 days so you are "in" your 10th week.
TRACY: You have to see it on a calendar---it would make sense for Oct 23 to be 8 weeks but Aug was a long month so it offsets it some : )

Morning everyone. Hope you all had a great weekend. ( I miss the siggy pics too!) Hope we can have them again soon.

Well- I am in week 7 today and already up 4 lbs. I am not about to wear maternity stuff yet- as I just look a little fat right now. Maternity clothes would look silly though I have picked up some cute winter tops already. I did start a food diary yesterday and am planning to stay at 75 carbs and 2000 calories. I don't want to lose right now but I do want to stop the gaining.

Still very very tired. Finding it hard to make it all day without a nap. No MS yet. Woke up Sat with a terrible cold. I am miserable. Tomorrow morning I have OB- orientation and a quick film at the local military base and they will then set me up for my 8 week appt and hopefully an ultrasound.

Sylv- 1 more week to go! You must be so excited!
Mrs. Sarah- dying to get the good news! Maybe this month, those symptons won't be all false!
Lauren- missed you on Friday! Can't wait to hear about your appt tomorrow!

Hi to everyone else! Be back later!

Happy Monday Everyone!

I hope a good weekend was had by all. I know I am probably in the minority, but I kindove like the no pictures in the siggy's. Only because sometimes a thread gets so long with all the pix, and when there are big pics and in a thread like ours that gets really long you have to scroll through a lot of re-peat pics and stuff. The little pic on the side still works to give a face to a post, but keeps it cleaner.

Well I am starting to slow down. I am starting to feel more like I did in the first trimester. a lot more tired and soooo achy. Sleeping at night is a joke these days. I can't believe I complained before about getting up to pee. Now not only do I have to get up to pee a million times a night, but I can not seem to get comfortable so I am tossing and turning soooo much. Its annoying, and to think its probably going to get worse over the next 10 weeks! YIKES!

Thankfully my spirits are still up. Though I did have a small emotional break down over the weekend (being single and pregnant has its own twists and turns) , after I cried I felt fine. Though I did have to have some chocolate ice-cream to make myself feel better.

One thing is for certain, pregnancy is a roller coaster. I am just trying to hang on tight.

Okay, here's the feeling in my belly. Sometimes when I get up, or turn just right, it feels like I've pulled a muscle, but it's my uterus. Anybody have that feeling? This has happened a couple of times in the last couple weeks.

I know, I know, humor me...I'm desperate.

Sarah- I have heard pg wowen say they felt the same thing early on, like before they even missed AF. Stretching and enlargment of the uterus to accomodate the growth of a fertilized egg? Wait until 3 days before AF is expected and test with the new sensitive tests.

Good luck! When are you expecting the dragon?

Seriously, I think it's a slight nesting instinct kicking in. We really want to get the house in order by the end of the year b/c we know that after the baby comes it'll be hard. Plus, I'd rather do it now while I'm mobile than when I get big and bulky, haha!
