Hey Ladies
Sorry for my MIA - sleep called and I listened!! Briefly: Cyn - (((HUGS))) and hope you are ok Heidi - LURVE the new pic!! ![]() PFGal - congrats on resisting honeybun! ![]() Vicky - glad you are sticking around - ((HUGS)) honey Sarah - sending you baby dust and praying that TOM doesn't show! ![]() Tigerlily - I'm hoping I get to talk about boy genitals too!! LOL - congrats on finding out!!! For those who wanted to know about my chat with the dr on Monday : Von Hippel Lindau is a genetic disease - basically tumours grow where blood vessels gather. Not a lot known about it here in the UK, but there is more research going on in the US. DH's grandfather died of it, and his father is suffering badly. DH has it, but his sister does not, and his 6 y/o daughter is just starting to be tested for it. We had to explain to the Dr that we know they can't do any tests at this stage, but we could have done without the worry of being called to the hospital to be told that!!! Parent's evening tonight so doubtful I will check in, but just wanted to say HELLO!!! Guess what?! My first pair of normal trousers wouldn't do up yesterday! Still maintaining at 5 lbs on in 13 weeks, but I was kinda upset!!God Bless Sheree ![]() |

Hi ladies!! Just wanted to pop in and let you know that I'm still here reading at least once a day I just don't have a lot of time to post. Things are really busy with work and the move. Blech. I'll be glad when it's all over.
Sounds like everyone is doing well. Hope everything is okay with Summer, she hasn't checked in for awhile. I have a Dr. appt. today at 4:00, I'm anxious to see how much I've gained. ![]() |

I woke up today to a 1 pound loss - back down to 147 with 3 pounds gained. Good thing I didn't eat that honeybun, haha!
I'm sure it'll go back up - but I'm happy with the 147-148 range for now! (I started at 144)Fitday is really helping me a lot. I find that I'm taking in about 1300 -1500 calories a day (average...sometimes it's a bit more), and sticking between 95-125 carbs per day. I'm trying to make them good ones, and use proper serving sizes. In the mornings I've been eating 1 cup of multi-grain cheerios with 1 cup of 2% milk (YES, I measure, haha). The past 2 nights I had grilled cheese for dinner b/c I was dying for it, lol, but other than that I'm not eating a ton of white flour stuff. We'll see! LAUREN: We are still in the process of moving, we've been taking our time and doing it slowly over the weekends. As well as some painting and hanging ceiling fans, just odds & ends. Official move in day is Oct.31st.
I love multi-grain cheerios. YUM!! You're such a good girl measuring things out. Me, I eat like 3 bowls. LOL. LAURA: How are you doing? Do you have your Big US scheduled? SARAH: I've been thinking of you lots! Hows things going at work, did you end up taking your old bosses job? Are you a lot busier? BabyCass is really starting to wiggle a lot, she really wiggles on my way to work in the mornings, I think she likes listening to Jack Johnson & Lauryn Hill. hehehehe!!

Morning everyone-
this morning I weighed and am now up 5 lbs total in 6.5 weeks It has to be from the food I am eating. I am still exercising 3-5 times a week as MS hasn't set in. Wouldn't you be like.. deathly ill with MS with twins? Since you are getting twice the HCG? Who knows. Hope it's a single. Not really ready for two just yet. Slyv- how are you holding up? I bet you are totally miserable and ready to see your baby. Is your nursery all set up and ready? Gone into the nesting instinct yet? Lauren- I am bummed out I can't see your pics. Maybe they will show later. Great news on the 1 lb loss. That's wonderful! Shorty- do you like raisin bran? That will really clean you out. I have a bowl every other day or so and have been able to come off the laxatives. Thank God! Back later everyone |

. I KNEW it was because I was eating like total crap. Of course Monday I got back on track doing better, and am back to a total gain of 3-4 pounds in my 8th week. My belly is still big if you ask me, though, but at least it's in the gut and not everywhere else, haha! I'd love to be 'all baby' and not chunk up anywhere else, but I know I probably won't be so lucky! They do say that all pregnancy symptoms are usually more intense with twins - REALLY sore boobs, more sickness, etc... Never know! My grandmother is an identical twin, but that's the only twins that I know of in either of our families. I think imagestation is down and that's why my pics aren't showing up. If it stays out all day, I'll repost the pics tonight - I have them on my home PC. ![]() |

Well- I have been doing really good most of the day- dinner is the problem. I probably don't eat more than 25 carbs all day long- but bank them for dinner and probably have 30 or 40 in dinner alone. Quitting smoking has me doing a little more snacking, but I really am not eating any differently than I was- I just never gained before. I fluctuated from 152-154. Now I am pushing 160.
The fundus height from my pubic bone to naval has really grown in the last 2 weeks. I am gonna try backing off some of the snacks (fruit, nutragrain bars, cheese crackers) for a few days and step up the exercise and see what happens. The only thing I think I probably shouldn't be having is ice cream. Be glad when that's gone so I won't be tempted. We found the CarbSmart vanilla and chocolate from Winn Dixie. It has 4 grams per serving (1 cup) and is awesome! Tastes like Blue Bell! So we all usually have a little every other night or so.Back later, gotta pretend to work. Still daydreaming all day ![]() |

Morning all-
I'm tired and a little crabby today. I really dont want to be at work but I have things I need to do - unfortunalty they are scheduled at the very end of the day... sigh. I'm not sick, just got a case of the blahs. Didnt help that its snowing this morning! I'm not doing well at all on the low carb thing - lots of breads and some deserts have snuck in too! I'm up 2# so far but at an avarage of 2400 calories a day I expect to be gaining more soon. My food choices have gotten a little better as the ms eases but I still find myself giving myself permission to eat junk because I'm pregnant. My DH was terrified there would be twins on the ultra sound thank god there is only one. I'm already getting my tukus kicked by a kid the size of a grape - I can't imagine what it would be like with two!

Morning girls!!!
STACY: Glad to see you posting!! We miss you!! Congrats on the new house..how lucky to be able to move gradually--I love moving into a new house--it is the physical part of moving i hate. I can't wait to start feeling movement--I feel some flutters occassionally--I guess that is movement. My husband is dying to feel a kick!! My doc won't do another US til December 1st!!!! Ugh..I'll be 23W1D. I am dying to know. I wish their was a fetal foto around here..I'd be over there!!!!!! I checked out your registry at BBRU--we registered for alot of the same things!! We haven't finished though--just started. We did get our mattress for the crib Tuesday. SARA: I can't believe it is snowing where you are. I love snow--just enough to keep me home from work for a day. That is enough. We get more ice in NC than snow. Don't worry about low carbing right now--eat what you can and make the best choices you can. It is hard the 1st trimester. TRACY: Glad the MS hasn't set in...Enjoy! Sounds like you are doing good.Lauren: I couldn't see your pics either I am sure your belly is adorable!! I am not eating so great. My doc is OK with my weight gain though----10 pounds at 17W4days..could be worse. I just want to be less than 30 at the end. we'll see.Hi Shorty and Sheree!!!!! Laura EDD 3-28-04 |

Hey,
does anyone know, when doing maintenance, how many carbs and calories should I be getting at 5'7 and 27 yrs old? If I don't want to gain any more than around 25-30 lbs total with the pg? I am going to start keeping a journal everyday of what I eat and how much exercise I get. Laura- you are 4 months and haven't felt kicking yet? Wow- I thought you would by now. Is this your first baby? |

TRACY: Yep this is my first....I don't feel any "kicking"...The other night before I fell asleep, I felt really strong fluttering..it felt really weird but I don't know/ think if it was a kick. I do feel flutters some though. When we saw my ultrasound at 11 weeks...he/she was doing all sorts of flips and really active...maybe soon I'll feel something. I have lots of belly
padding so maybe that hides it..... |

LAURA: Yep, those flutters are definitely the baby wiggling, thats how mine started out. I"m 21.5 weeks now and they've JUST now started getting stronger and more frequent. She really moves a lot when I'm driving & at night. I love it.
Registering was such a pain, the day we went to BRU we had to get on a wait list for a scanner, we waited 40 minutes!! Needless to say Mike was less than thrilled but I think we got most of it done. We registered at PBKids too, mostly for *fun* stuff, nothing I really *need*. I can't wait to get the nursery reorganzied, I miss the crib being up already. We still need to get the changing table, did you get it yet? I can't wait till shes here!!! ![]() |

STACY: BRU was the same when we were there...we gave up though on the scanner. We just picked out some things we wanted and went home and did it online. That place is crazy on the weekends. If we go back, we are going right when they open. We have the changing table....we have all the furniture and the mattress. The only other furniture piece I want is a glider and I think I'll get that from WalMart..only $89. It may not last that long but long enough. My g-friend has one from there and she likes it--especially for the price. I also need the bedding--we are definitly doing PBKids Moon and Stars theme. I already bought some accessories for it.
I was at my g-friends house last night and held her little boy (12 weeks old) til he fell asleep---I am with you-I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!! |

Good morning! I hope everyone's doing well. Lauren, your belly looks so cute! Mine looked like that BEFORE I got pregnant! ![]() Cynthia, so sorry to hear about your car accident! That must have been a relief to find out everything was OK. Sara, wow, snow! We haven't had any here yet, but my parents got a whole lot just an hour North of here. I hope it doesn't come too quickly because as it is, I only have one (new) pair of shoes that fit. None of my other shoes or boots fit anymore because of my constant swelling. A friend of mine told me she permanently changed shoe sizes after her pregnancy! Tracy, I was the same way for at least half of my pregnancy - daydreaming and amounting to nothing for a big chunk of the day! I mean, how could you not??? It's such mind-blowing, life-changing news!!! I'm getting more and more excited with my daughter Rebecca's impending birth. I can't believe I'll have her in my arms within 3 weeks tops (if I go past due 2 weeks)! On the other hand, I'm also getting increasingly exhausted and uncomfortable (read: irritable!). At least work has kind of slowed down for now and I can nap or lie down here and there during the day. And at least the nursery's pretty much ready, even though we've got an antique Moses basket she'll be sleeping in next to our bed for a while. I don't know if this is a nesting instinct or not, but rather than cleaning (don't have the energy for it) I've been doing a lot of cooking and freezing... stuff like spaghetti sauce, soups, quiche, casseroles, banana bread, etc. Brian isn't much of a cook unfortunately and I can't stand eating take-out or processed foods too many evenings in a row, so I'm stocking the freezer! |
