Birth control pills....

Okay, what does everyone really think? Any one with experience of atkins and the pill, pros cons do you still lose weight????

Thinking of going on it, but scared cause I am doing so well and do not want to stall my weight loss...

I've been on the pill for two years and have lost 120 pounds in that time, with no huge stalls. Its a low dose pill, you may want to talk to your doctor about whats best for you.

I'm on Yasmine, which I think is a low dose pill. It hasn't affected my loss (I think), and I definitely have not put on any significant weight since starting.

i am hoping they will not impact my weight loss as I am doing so well...

I am going to get on the new Season L they have coming out later this fall...the one where you have 4 periods a year instead of 12 so I will be switching then...

4 years ago I did Atkins and was not on the pill, my weightloss was much faster (45lbs compared to 25lbs after the same amount of time -- started around the same weight both times).

When I started Atkins last November I was on Othotricyclen Lo. Two and a half months ago I switched to Alesse 28 and my weightloss sped up without me being very strict. Alesse 28 has both lower estrogen and progesteron than Ortho Lo (and it's a different kind of progesteron, but I have no idea what the difference is).

If anyone knows of a lower dose pill please share.

Personally I would love it if they came out with a male birth control pill.

When I first started low carbing about a year and a half ago, I was on Loestrin, then about 1 year ago I switched to Yasmin. Back in June I switched again to the Nuva Ring which I LOVE. None of these types of bc made me stall or gain IMO, however they may have slowed me down a little.

If you don't go on the birth control pills, you might just gain 10 lbs of BABY! ack!

I'm on Desogen and have been since before I stared LC. I lose about as fast as anyone, I believe. 10 lbs a month every month since I started.

I began Othro Tri-Cyclen Lo about a month before starting Atkins. I've never gained or had problems losing while on them. I've also not had any other side effects like headache or nausea with them. I think they are a great low dose option.

I've been on the pill the entire time doing LC and still lost 15lbs... I'm not going off the pill until I get married, so I guess I won't get to see if it makes a difference until then!

I came off the pill to see if it would speed up my loss, it didn't so I started taking it again, things do vary from person to person and from different pill brands though. From what I hear pills like yasmin are supposed to not inhibit weightloss or cause gain.

Hee hee...try 40-50lbs of baby!!

Anyway...I've been on the pill since my youngest was born a year ago...I haven't noticed any problems with trying to lose, although I have slowed down a bit, which is discouraging..but I think it's normal.
