![]() Re : Epidurals vs Other Methods Baby no 1 : I had an epidural. Pure bliss!!!! However, DH said he almost fainted when he saw the size of the needle, and it did make pushing a little bit harder at the end! She took 4 hrs 50 mins of established labour to arrive Baby no 2 : I used Entonox. WOW!! She took 1 hr 40 mins from START TO FINISH to arrive, so there wasn't even time to run the water bath I requested! Welcome Shorty! It's Friday Eve - isn't that cool?! ONe more work day before I can sleep as MUCH as I want (and I want to sleep A LOT ) Have a great day everyone God Bless Sheree |

Morning All-
Morning sickness has kicked back in. *sigh* I made the mistake of not making my lunch last night - I'm dreading going into the kitchen. The good news is that my weight is down half a pound so I'm not gaining at the moment. I'm really trying to stick to 5# gained in the 1st trimester. I know that pretty soon all of that is going to be out of my control (probalbly is already)... Have a good day all. |

Good morning everyone.
I seem to have caught a nasty chest cold. Not fun! I am not sure if I can take anything for it or not. Any suggestions? Right now I am just trying to guzzle water water water, and some juices. Hopefully that will flush out whatever is making me sick. I think the change of weather might be the cause. I really love the fall, but I think I catch a cold every year. I am trying my best to stay at work, because I have no maternity leave at this job and I need to save every vacation day I can for when baby arrives. Thank GOD tomorrow is Friday and I can rest over the weekend. ![]()

MISBADU - I dunno what you can take other than what you're doing now... That's what I usually do regardless, because cold medicines make me whacked out! I'm a little dingy already... I don't need help! LOL!
SHEREE - Wow, I've never heard of Entenox... What is it? SHORTY - That site is pretty cool! WELCOME! SARA - I'm sure you're doing well. I totally binged last night, but I'm feeling it now... Why do I do that??? LOL! HOLA LAUREN AND THE REST OF THE MOMMIES!!! I'm doing well, except for the fact that I'm an emotional rollercoaster. I've always a little moody, but through pregnancy in the mix... WHOA!!!! The poor souls who have to deal with me! LOL! ![]() ![]() ![]()

Misbadu, I just caught a cold yesterday too!
I was sneezing all day and thought it was allergies, but I quickly developed a sore throat and headache too. Now I'm going through mounds of Kleenex. I hear it's best to stay away from any kind of meds but to check with your provider if you feel you absolutely need something to function. Lucky for me, I work from home and nobody has to see that I'm in my robe and slippers. I hope you lick it quickly. Try having mugs of hot broth too, I find it's very comforting when I feel this way. And warm baths... I've actually gotten into the habit of taking a bath every night for the past week or so, otherwise my legs get restless and I can't fall asleep, no matter how tired I am. Sarah - I'm sorry this wasn't the month for you. The right soul for your child probably just hasn't come up yet in heaven, but when he or she is ready, it'll happen! Do you guys ever wonder about that? When does a soul enter a baby's developing body? I'd like to think right from the start. It freaks me out though (in a good way).Welcome Shorty! Hello to everyone else!

Morning ladies...
SYLV: What a cool way to think about babies MISBADU: I hear it's best to stay away from meds too ...I heard antihistamines were ok but not decongestants and most good cough syrups have alcohol don't they? I am sure I'll be getting my share of colds too---UGH.JENN: I hear you on the moodiness....These last few days, I swear I could bite people's heads off over stupid things. My poor male boss and my husband!!! at least they are understanding. I about had a emotional breakdown from going to the grocery store last night --- I am just tired of figuring out what to eat that is easy other than frozen junk....and trying to watch carbs somewhat---and I am too tired to cook after working all day. Welcome SHORTY! and hello to everyone I missed!!! Laura |

MsBadu-my doc gave me a list of things that are safe to take during pregnancy.. The list he gave me for Cold/Allergies are...Tylenol, Plain robitussin, lemon drops, halls cough drops, Afrin nose spray, increasing fluids...then after 13 weeks you can use sudafed or actifed, benadryl claritin, and alavert.
Hope that helps. I mean I know that all docs are different...but mine gave me this list and it has been a life saver so far. Lesscarbsforme-I understand now how you miscalulated. I told Dh after reading your response..holy crap what if I am not 11 weeks...he was like..calm down woman and ask her what happened. lol Jen- Sweetie I am sorry you are having a Sinnrah day. LOL I stay moody you know that.... Looper-how r u today? PFGal-good to see you Welcome Shorty... Sarah-how are you sweetie? Sarajewel-I hope you feel better soon... Now for my question...what is Entonox??

Thanks Everyone....and thanks Sinnrah.
I think I am going to try and tough it out another day with just fluids, warm baths and hot broth/tea. If I am still feeling this crappy tomorrow I may go for some baby Tylenol to at least take the edge off my headache and chest pain. On another sad note...one of my good friends who conceived about 2 months ago just called me to tell me she miscarried. She is very sad and hurting. Any suggestions of something special I could do for her to help her feel a little better? Thanks ![]() |

misbadu - I found this on another thread. It was posted for a member who miscarried. Maybe it will help your friend. I cry every time I read it.
The Auther is unknown: I thought of you I thought of you and closed my eyes And Prayed to God today. I asked what makes a Mother And I know I heard him say. A Mother has a baby This we know is true. But God can you be a Mother When your baby's not with you? Yes,you can He replied With confidence in His voice I give many women babies When they leave is not their choice. Some I send for a lifetime And others for a day. And some I send to feel your womb But there's no need to stay. I just dont understand this, God I want my baby here He took a breath and cleared His throat And then I saw a tear. I wish I could show you What your child is doing today. If you could see your child smile With other children and say "We go to earth and learn our lessons Of love and life and fear. My Mommy loved me oh so much I got to come straight here. I feel so lucky to have a Mom Who had so much love for me I learned my lesson very quickly My Mommy set me free. I miss my Mommy oh so much But I visit her each day. When she goes to sleep On her pillow's where I lay. I stroke her hair and kiss her cheek And whisper in her ear "Mommy dont be sad today Im your baby and Im Here". So you see my dear sweet one your children are OK Your babies are here in MY home And this where they'll stay. They'll wait for you with me Until your lesson is through And on the day that you come home They'll be at the gates for you. So now you see what makes a Mother It's the feeling in your heart. It's the love you had so much of Right from the very start.

Hi everyone-
Sarah, the poem was beautiful. Very touching. Sylv- what about a vaporizor? You could use one of those to break up and loosen any congestion in your chest. Along with some baby tylenol and a hot bath- you should get some relief. I have a question- tomorrow is the 5th day prior to TOM for me. I have been having some really strange things going on (body wise) and DH is convinced we are PG. I won't let myself get excited but I planned on testing Sat morning. I bought a First Response, early detection kit. Tomorrow is day 4- thinking of trying in the morning. Lauren- you tested 5 days early- anyone else test before 3 days? Thanks |

Sara, beautiful poem. It's dangerous reading this when you've got raging hormones though... it just opened the flood gates for me!
Tracy, good idea about the vaporizer. I don't have one but figure I'll eventually need one for the baby, right? Man, I must have gone through 2 full boxes of Kleenex today. I think I'm going to take a nap now. Last edited by Sylv : 10-02-2003 at 02:43 PM. |

Lauren, looks like we are exactly at the same point! Only my doctor's wheel said June 2nd, everything else said 5/29 or 5/30, but oh well a few more days won't kill me.
I tested early (11 days post ovulation) with my LAST pregnancy and got a positive, but I later learned I was more pregnant than I thought so I don't think I charted right or something This time I had those cheap online HPTS and they showed negatives until the day my period was technically due (14 days post ovulation). I say test early if you can't stand it (and can afford it), but don't give up if it is negative! I was only 125.5 today, I am actually losing weight right now, I think because I get full really fast and don't have too much of an appetite sometimes. I'm sure I will make up for it soon!

I could never test early... With my daughter, I had two false negatives. Both taken after I'd missed my period. Then I had a wreck, and they gave me a blood pg test (before they could do x-rays), and THAT came up positive... By then I was already 2 1/2 months. The only urine test that came up positive was at the doctors' office... I was three months along then. I suppose I don't produce a lot of HCG in the beginning. When I tested this time around, I got a VERY faint line. Almost took it for a negative.
Oh forgot to say something earlier... Sylv - What you said to Sarah was just beautiful! What a wonderful way to look at it! ![]() |

When I was PG with my daughter, I was about 10 days late- but the second I set the stick on the counter, it turned bright purple. That may mean I produce a lot of HCG. The first response tests were 2 for $8.00
Cheep. I think I MAY test in the morning and see what happens, but won't get discouraged if it's negative. |
