Oh and thanks for all the support yesterday..I feel much better. And the scales are back down. So i guess it was fluid. But man was I ever hungry yesterday.

I slept for ove ten hours and that totally helped..and I bought some maternity clothes yesterday.

My mom said she would make me some of those trendy little hippy style shirts I like to wear and that she is going to go to the store for me..

So I am much much better today...

thanks again..

OH AND HAPPY GIRLFRIENDS DAY...{HUGS}

Sometimes a night of rest can do wonders for your spirit!

I've been good with eating, but I think I felt badly enough on Friday not to eat that way for a while. BLECH!

STACY - I loved your wedding photos. You have a beautiful family, and a cutie patootie hubby to boot!

I'll check in later!

HOLA SUMMER!

Jen-glad one of us is doing good w/ the eating. lol I had two plates of spaghetti last night...but I was starving.

I am bound and determined to stick to my exercise every other day.

I may not eat all that healthy..but I figured as long as I try to keep the junk food and fast food out of my diet plus the exercise I should be ok.

All I can do is try. right? I mean like i said before this baby is dictating to me how things are going...not me to it..

Sjoy-thanks. I bought two pairs of pants that were just regular womens small..but they have a stretchy waist. And some shirts.

I think all the sleep I got did do wonders.

I need to do that more often.

Morning ladies...........

STACY: Your wedding pics are beautiful!!!! I did find your crib bedding online--on Ebay--enough for me to check it out.... your nursery will be adorable!!! I love the lavender in it and it has the green gingham to match the dresser you bought. Cool! Can't wait to see your pics. The travel system we picked out is a Graco Quattro too--the Kenwood pattern. So, have you registered yet???

SINN: So glad you are feeling better today. Scales down AND new clothes...can't beat that

Back later!

Hi everyone,
Stacy I am dying to check out your pics! My PC is really giving me a fit today. I will keep trying.

I promised myseld I wouldn't get too disapointed Sat if the test is (-). I am expecting TOM on the 7th- I will test on the 8th and then if it's (-) I'll get disapointed
I checked out fertilityfriend.com (thanks Sarah) and when I entered the last day of my cycle, it said my most probable day to conceive would have been the 21st. We "tried" the 20, 21 and 22!! I found some really interesting info also on upping your chances of getting the "boy" or "girl" you want. I can post some later- it's really interesting!

Hey, did any of you have any problems conceiving? Anyone have strange and irregular AF's before getting PG?

Lauren- I know you conceived right away, but anyone else have trouble?

This is only the second month for DH & I. I swore to him I'd stay calm until it's been a year.

I love reading all your posts. My baby is 9 1/2. I am a little outta practice where baby stuff is concerned

TRACY: Hang in there. I went off the pill in July 2002 and didn't conceive until July 2003....I charted and used OPKs for alot of those months and we took a couple months off....It is frustrating and disappointing--especially if you have friends popping up pregnant like I did. I don't know what took so long other than it just happens when it is meant to---my cycles were a little irregular...ranging from 28-31 days. The last 2 months before I got pg though, they were perfect 28 days so I don't know if that helped/had anything to do with it or not.

FYI- INTERESTING

Basically, men produce two types of sperms, the X (female) and Y (male). According to Dr. Shettles' studies the y-sperms are smaller, weaker, but faster than their siblings x-sperms, which are bigger, stronger, but slower.

Based on this fact, there are several things you can do to "favor" the conception of boys or girls:

The most important aspect of all is timing of intercourse during the monthly cycle. The closer to ovulation you have sex, the better the chances to have a boy, because the y-sperms are faster and tend to get to the egg first. If you have sex 3 days or more before ovulation, the better your chances to conceive a girl, because the weaker y-sperms tend to die sooner and the x-sperms will be available in greater quantity whenever the egg is released. On the other hand, having sex from 2 days before ovulation, through a few days after ovulation, is better for conceiving a boy. Around the 2-day point -- 48 hours before ovulation -- seems to be the 50/50 mark.

The pH of the women's tract is also very important. A more acidic environment favors girls, since it will kill the weaker y-sperms first, leaving a greater quantity of x-sperms available to fertilize the egg. On the other hand, a more alkaline environment favors boys. Shettles recommends a douche of water and vinegar (acid) immediately before intercourse to favor a girl; a douche of water and baking soda (alkaline) will help for a boy.
(3) Position of intercourse and depth of penetration are important, partly because of pH. The closer to the entrance to the vagina, the more acidic the women's tract is. Also, deep penetration places the sperm closer to the egg, and gives those aggressive boy sperms a head start :-). So, a shallow penetration will favor girls and a deeper will favor boys. Shettles recommends missionary-position for a girl, and rear-entry (dog-style) for a boy.

Hello everyone,

Happy to see the daily thread.

Stacy - Beautiful wedding pix. You have some great candid shots! Those always turn out the best.

Well after some time spent researching, I think I have decided to go for a water birth. Any one else thinking of that method?

I have had a midwife from the start of this pregnancy and I love that and the hospital where I am delivering is very cutting edge and up and up on the latest treatments for all sorts of things. So they do have birth spas and such. I have been reading and researching and it seems so much more calm and less stressful to birth in water. Also seems to be less medical intervention, (ie: constant checking for dilation, episiotomy, I.V., drugs, fetal monitor's etc.) Just makes sense to me. So I am just curious anyone else going that route? Or already been?

Other than that, I have just been trying to keep my eating in check. I have been really hungry these days. Trying to snack on low carb things, rather than the sugary things I am craving. Eating lots of fruit, and veggies. Probably more fruit than I should, but I figure natural sugar from fruit is safer than the HUGE chocolate cake I am craving. hehe...

Hope everyone else is doing well today.

Great!! I got them the other day for that purpose exactly, then it hit me afterwards that I should ensure safety first! Thanks!

Definitely not, lol!! I want me an epidural just like the last time.

I think it's great that you're going to do that method, and wish you all the best!

MISBADU - I'll actually go to a birthing center to have our baby. It's just beautiful, and there's some wonderful history in that house, and with the owner/midwife. They can get me to a hospital if needed, but hopefully, I'll just be able to have the baby there, in a homey environment. It's also a very Christian environment, which suits me very well. (They respect all beliefs, it's just that most of the midwives and student midwives are very Christian in their beliefs.)

I liked it, because I can walk around and eat some to keep my energy up. They also have a large garden tub with jets so that I can either sit in a shower chair and let the shower run down my belly, or just get all in the water. They say it helps a lot.

I just remember last time, I forgot not to drink anything after midnight (I was induced - Dr. thought she was getting too big), and I was hooked up to all of these wires, IV's and such, and unhooking myself all the time going to potty. LOL! The epidural also ended up wearing off two hours before she finally came out... They were just getting the anesthesiologist in there when I was starting to push... An hour and a half later, she came.

WHEW! That was long...

SINN - If you would've seen the amount of junk that I put into my system Friday and how I felt... Oh... Mah... Gawd... LOL!!!

TRACY - All the boy/girl stuff is interesting... Also, I'm out of practice too... Mine is 7 1/2!

LAUREN - I've always heard Tums were okay...

LAURA - HOLA!

Hi all-

Sinnrah - so glad you are feeling better today!

I had the worst bought of morning sickness today. Blech. I talked to my DH later and he said that he hadn't really taken the whole morning sickness thing so seriously until I knocked him over racing out of the kichen after opening a package of frozen spinach! I feel much better than I did but I'm still queasy - then it will pass and I'll be ravenously hungry... until I've eaten three bites and then I'm full. *sigh* I know I shouldnt complain, I wanted this so badly.

We had been tryinging for about 8 months, not anything serously like charting but hoping here and there. My cycles were all over the place 24-68 days - never the same twice but usually really long. This last one I knew from the cervical fluid that the timeing was right and it worked. I really think losing the weight with Atkins helped a lot.

Thank you to everyone for all of your support.

Hi everybody!

I have been low-carbing since 1997, and just found out I am pregnant with #3! I have a 2 and a half year old daughter and a 14 month old son.

I am around my goal weight and want to avoid gaining 50 pounds like I did the last two times! And developing diabetes like I did the first time.

So I would love to hear what you all do eating-wise!

I have been staying low-carb during the day and eating a high carb dinner to stay out of ketosis.

My doctor said I could stay low-carb as long as I didn't lose weight. She even said it was ok to be in ketosis as long as I wasn't cutting carbs out completely.

But I have heard so much about ketosis being dangerous that I am wary about it. Do you all make an effort to stay out of ketosis?

Congrats to all of you, and I look forward to getting to know you!

Abby

Thanks for all the picture compliments ladies! I am just so relieved to finally have my wedding pics! I kept thinking something must have gone wrong it took the photographer so long to get them to me!

LAUREN: Yes, we planned accordingly and got lucky and made a honeymoon baby! According to my OPK tests I ovulated on the 9th of June! WooooHoooo!

LAURA: How funny that you picked out the same stroller! I haven't decided on a pattern yet. We plan to go to BRU this weekend to start registering. Mike is less than thrilled about it but he'll survive.

Hang in there TRACEY, I'm keeping my fingers & toes crossed for you.

Still no internet at work. Grrr....any day now I'll be back in full chat mode.
I'm getting ready to head out for some chinese food with my mom. YUM!!

Hello peeps!!!

Well, today was the day that I finally met my baby!!

I was incredibly pleased to see only one - there are several sets of twins throughout our families! I was also surprised to discover that I am not 13 weeks along but only 10! New EDD is 27th April 2004.

CanWho do I talk to about being added to the list at the beginning of the thread?! Glad to see that this has gone daily, and will catch up with everything from yesterday now!

God Bless all

Well today has been better for me...

I had been more tired today than I have been in a while.

LessCarbsforme-I added you to the list...and welcome and congrats to you.

Abby-I thought i could stick to around 100 carbs or less a day when I found out I was pregnant..but that just hasnt happened. I dont follow any kind of eating plan right now. I found out that hard way that this baby tells me what I am hungry for. So..I eat my carbs and try to stay away from junkfood..but dont do to well w/ that.

Jen-my thing is not really junkfood as much as it is just eating more than three times a day...a lot of carbs...like noodles and stuff. But today has been much better.

Sarajewel-i hope your morning sickness eases up. I stayed queezy for a while..but only threw up three times. It wasnt bad for me at all.

Hi there abbymommy, glad to meet ya!! I'm following Atkins, but eating 2 or 3 calcium-enriched foods per day. Other than that, I'm not introducing any pastas, breads, etc... If I need to b/c of sickness I will, but so far so good! I also discussed it with my doctor, and she said my plan was good.

Abby - Welcome!

LessCarbs - congratulations! That must have been such a neat experience!

I get to go see my OB for the first time next week. I'm excited. Also, after the morning's excitment, my DH brought home 2 cases of ginger ale and seabands for my wrists. He is such a keeper! I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks for all of your responses!

Lauren, are you still on Atkins Induction? If not, how many carbs per meal or day are you on?

So far I have had a mild queasiness on and off all day and night, nothing major.

Hope it stays good for you too!
