question about menopause and breakthru bleeding

I have been post menopausal for almost 3 years now. Yesterday I started very light bleeding. I have been on Atkins since May 26 and have lost 34 pounds. Could losing weight or this WOE cause this? Has anyone else in this situation experienced this?

kb - this woe does affect menstruation in women. I don't understand it totally, but it has something to do with hormones and fat (fat carries hormones through the body or something like that). Others could probably explain it better.

Anyway, lots of women have TOM irregularities during the first couple of months on this woe, then it sort of evens out. I don't think it's anything to worry about, but if it continues you might want to consult your GYN.

If you are truly post menopausal, and have not had a period for 3 years, low carbing should not cause bleeding. Please contact your physician, and have it checked out.

I had noticable bleeding last month. About five years ago I had the balloon therapy thing done for heavy periods. After that I had very light periods and eventually last year didn't notice anything. I am almost 53 so am at the age that I figured I was going through the change. I am curious how next month will be.

I stopped having periods 3 years ago. A couple of times in the first year of post menopause I had similar break through bleeding but have not had anything for the last 2 years. I am due for a check up so I will make an appointment this week.

post menopausal bleeding

I also have not had a period for about 2 years with the exception of some small spotting when I tried this wol last year. Last attempt I only lost about 6 lbs or so. This time I have lost about 18lbs in a month qand last week started to bleed. I did ask my doctor and she said the diet does influence the hormones and that the was the reason. I checked out ok.
Thought you may be interested.

Re: post menopausal bleeding

Thanks dealerdeb! It's good to hear someone else has experienced this. I have all the feelings of TOM including the cravings and some water retention. Since I am due for a check up I will tell my doctor about this and see what he says. I'm not really worried about it.
