thick waisted women

Help! I know this was posted before; but I can't find it. What jeans fit best for thick waisted women. I can't find any pants (except pullons) that fit; becaust all my weight is in the stomach. I really want some jeans that don't sag in the butt & thigh. What do y'all suggest? Thanks!

I'll be checking on this thread. I'm still looking for the perfect jeans. I did find a pair that looked good a couple of weeks ago (they actually gave be a butt!), but they were sooooo low cut that I wouldn't buy them.

I don't know about brands..but I prefer jeans, pants, and skirts that have no waistband, just a flat finish. Even the lower rise seem to fit better...I just make sure my shirts still cover my belly, but these fit better without bulging up around the waist.

edited to add: try to find them with a bit of stretch to them so they stay in shape better and don't sag out throughout the day.

jeans

i just had to go shopping for new school clothes (I'm a teacher) because all my stuff from the spring didn't fit. I also picked up some jeans and a pair of demin capris. I got the jeans from Old Navy, they are the low rise ones, but very compfy and I think I look good. The capris were from Maurices (hadn't shopped there since hish school) and they were Hydraulics.

I am not sure where you live, but I found some at H&M that were really good- only $40 and they fit well. I will never have a waist - have always been thick in the middle.

I found a new pair a couple of weeks ago and have gone back to buy another. They are French Dressing jeans and don't bag on my butt. They are stretch, but don't cling. They hang nicely and have slim legs for a slender line. They weren't cheap though, $60 for the ones without rear pockets, $66 for those with. I prefer no pockets on my butt thankfully.

i love LOVE love mossimo jeans from target for three reasons:
1) they're cheap! under 30 bucks for most
2) they look cool and you can get them in almost any color or size
3) they have THE perfect fit for those of us with a thick waist or a rotund bootie

seriously, you should check them out

I'm very apple shaped and I've been wearing the stretch jeans from Target for a long time. They have sizes, colors, and seem to fit my waist very well where other brands feel like they're cutting me in half. They also come in Short, Average and Tall. On sale I've gotten them for less than $25.

Happy Shopping,

I love the men's RUSTLER jeans from WalMart. I can buy them 38x30 and they fit perfectly. The butt fits like a glove. The length is great. There's even room in the waist, which I love. The jeans are cheap, ($12.99) but they fit.

Also, a pair of Gloria Vanderbilts, Stretch Jean low rider flares from Lane Bryant. Wow, great fit, tight and form fitting. Expensive, ($45) but worth it. I wear them every now and then... Don't wanna wash them too much.... I will retire these when my plumeting (?) weight loss happens. I love these jeans with my black lowcut boots.... Way cute.

QVC carries their own brand of stretch denim leggings and jeans called Denim & Co. and I love them because they fit so well. They wear well, too. I particularly like the ones that have side pockets because they are sewed down and are flat and don't bunch up like loose pockets do. Just go to QVC and do a search for Denim & Co. leggings. "Leggings" sounds like those old tight stretchy things, but these are like regular jeans, only fit better.

I have the thick waistline of someone who has hypothyroid and insulin resistance---but only because I have both!!

I've found that the Rider's stretch/eased fit jeans are just great, and the new lowrider jeans (if they are petite, or short) fit on my waist really well.

I want to second the suggestion for Old Navy low rise. They have the low and the Really Low (um....not for me, LOL!) but the regular low's are pretty flattering if you are short-waisted.

I have 2 favorites:

Levi 517's LowRise/bootcut stretch jeans

and

Bill Blass Perfectly Fit (got mine at JC Penneys)

Neither are tight around the waist. Bill Blass comes up higher but they don't squish the stuff I still have in the middle.

My DD's like the Levi's the best on me.

I'm gonna second and third on both the Mossimo Jeans from Target and the Old Navy Jeans...both brands seem to fit me well. I have always preferred low cut jeans because of the fact that I am thick waisted. For some reason, low cut looks better. It allows your tummy to "breathe", as long as your top is long enough to cover it!

I absolutely HATE pants with stretch in them...even jeans! I've got a pair that I am constantly having to pull up...see, I have no defined butt and my hips aren't hippy enough to hold them up! I hate this...they get stretched out during the day and it just sucks. Sorry...I'm venting. I just can't wear them.

I did buy a pair of jeans from walmart (in my high size - since the 18s were squeezing) and they say they have stretch in them, but they don't feel like it...I can handle these.

My faves:

Target - Mossimos
Old Navy - Lowrise
Levi's - the one TB mentioned - 517 or 571

ALSO... Walmart is starting to carry some nice jeans... I just bought some nice lowrise there (size 16) and not plus! Very cheap too!

I am so glad Lane Bryant jeans are 2 big for me... I used to HATE the way they fit... just because I am 5"2 and plump does not mean my legs and hips all over are thick... definitely not a fit for me!

I'm very shortwaisted and on top of that i have a flat butt (im so embarrassed to reveal these things LOL), so buying ANY PANTS that fit me correctly is virtually impossible.
One style that I found I really LOVE is Silver brand jeans' 'Retro' style. i dont know if they only have this style for guys or for both sexes, but they are a nice low-but-not-too-low rise jean, not too-tight-but-fit closely-enough-on-the-butt jean. the only thing is that they may not make this style anymore! i bought my last 2 pairs two years ago and I am slimming back down into them again, finally!
regarding dresspants, i could really REALLY use some advice where to get them in canada for short-waisted women! i want something with a little flare in the bottoms which fits me on top too (i hate when the darn waist is practically under my boobs! LOL)

I'm the same way.

I second Old Navy. I found great shorts that fit my waist, that don't make my A$$ look gigantic.

I also love Ralph Lauren Jeans. I usually can't afford them but anytime the major dept. stores have a clearance sale I can find them for $20 (with coupon of course). They are the Best.

I got a few pair of Old Navy last year (low rise), and liked them somewhat. Only tried one pair of Target jeans, but now that gives me another excuse to shop there. I did try on a pair of MUD or LEI's the other day that actually gave me a booty for once, but they were soooo incredibly low cut that there was no way in he!! I was going to get them.

LolaLeeLolo, if you have Casual Corner up there, try them. They have been a favorite of mine for years. Now I'm just happy to be in the regular store instead of plus.

I am short, buttless and thickwaisted. Sigh. Riders eased fit jeans actaully fit. The belt line of the jeans fall at or below the navel and they don't have those flared out saddle bags on the thighs and butt. Built for the boy-shaped girl!! Also, each size comes in petite, average and long - which is really important when you are 5'2".

Thick Waisted

I was having trouble finding jeans to fit as well and didn't want to pay a lot because I'm not yet at my goal weight. A lot of the jeans were slung low and not at all comfortable for my belly. A woman at Old Navy suggested to me (after I tried on every pair of shorts in the store) to try the men's pants; they were not cut so low. Voila! Never thought of this, but it worked. They fit my waist and belly much better. I ended up buying a couple pair of jean shorts at KMart - Wranger Silver Edition and absolutely love them. I also went to Good Will and tried on Men's shorts and found a couple pair (practically brand new) that really looked nice. I have 32 more pounds to lose, so I really didn't want to spend a lot on summer jeans or shorts and this really worked great.

I found that Low rise fit my waist better. All the jeans (regular ones have such a long waist area, I guess they want me to pull my pants up to my armpits. I am always pulling them down to my belly button! Why can't they make jeans that go to your belly button? The only ones I find like that are Low Rise or Levis

I love the Gloria Vanderbilt stretch jeans, "modern fit". I bought mine at Kohl's for $25. They're the only jeans that a size 14 fits me.

Gap bootcut stretch jeans are awesome! The bootcut tends to balance out the thicker middle, the rise sits just below your belly button and they don't seem to bag out like other stretch jeans can. They are just soooooo comfy and they also come in a lot of different lengths.

I'm soooooo apple shaped that it's not funny anymore.

I have great legs -- but they are parked under this "mound" of belly that even Curves is not getting rid of.

Yes, I'm being hard on myself.

To make it even worse -- I'm incredibly short waisted.

I've been told that "normal" women (what's normal???) have 4 inches between the bottom of the ribcage and the top of the hip-bone .......... I have 1"

I've tried Old Navy pants and their low rise pants (the ones that "normal" women may have to shave to wear) Hit me at my waist.

I really, really want to wear low rise pants that are actually low rise.

Are there any out there that are lower than Old Navy???
