Morning everyone! I'm here just super busy today at work....ugh. I have been feeling very very swollen lately so for this week I am trying to go for zero salt and lots and lots of water.
Little Kelsey is moving around a lot! I can finally "see" her moving, too! Can't wait to see your pic Stacey! |

Good morning everyone.
Thanks for starting us off Kitara....actually I am now 18w. Starting to look more pg now. Feeling sooo much better now, more energy and less nausea. ![]() I get to have my 1st ultrasound in about 2 weeks so I am really looking forward to that! I am looking forward to fall and winter...I am becoming less and less tolerant to the HEAT. I had to put my AC on 62 degrees the other night because I thought I would die from the heat. It was only about 84 degrees out...but to me it felt like 184 degrees! Hope everyone is doing well.

Hi there!
Kitara - The exhaustion never stopped with me. I'm almost 23 weeks and it's hard being at work everyday. I took a looooong walk yesterday with a friend, and I must have over done it! I am in so much pain, I could hardly get my body out of bed this morning. I hurt right below my belly, I feel a strain when I get up, and my lower back. ![]() |

Happy Monday. I actually did not feel like crap the entire day today. This is monumental!!!
Kitara - can you change me to 10 weeks? Thanks! So, what is everyone's plans for childcare? I just found out that the daycare by my work that takes infants is $980 per month. I was not quite prepared for that. I have the option of having DH home on Thurs, Fri and every other Wed, and my mom on Mon, Tues and every other Wed. DH does not seem ready to commit his off days. He has weird weekends. As I see it, he has 8 months to find $980 or see things my way. Anyone lucky enough to stay at home? That's my dream, but alas, I bring home the bulk of the bacon.

Kitara ~ I still haven't bought anything yet. I plan to soon, and to get the nursery ready. I have a bad history, so that is why I am so hesitant.
About daycare. My MIL asked if we had planned on what we are going to do with our son. (She currently watches DD) And I told her we are taking him to a daycare. She seemed kinda offended, but she should understand. She is aware that I do not approve of smoking in the house (I wasn't aware when I took DD, and just haven't taken her out since I found out). She has a 9 year old and an 18 year old still at home, and has no plans to save or get out. My daughter has sacrificed too many naps because those 2 and their friends are too rowdy. No place for a baby. So I am planning on looking into daycares when I get towards the end, and when the baby is born, spending some time with this person. I'm really afraid to let a stranger watch my baby, but I have no other option. They won't be a stranger after I get to know them, right? I'm a worry-wart, and I always think worst-case scenario. I try not to do that, but you hear all kinds of horror stories. |

I am 10w1d now! I have gained 2 lbs from my low when I was dieting. I got down to 141.2 in early July but I was 143 today. Don't need maternity clothes just yet but starting to get a little bit of a belly. I will have my husband take a picture of me or something.
Starting to feel less nausea, which is good. I have two more weeks of summer before school starts and I am trying to enjoy every minute of it! Tigerlily |

Hi everyone!
I am 7 weeks 2 days today so I guess I am IN my 8th week ??? I had my first doc appmt yesterday. My husband went with me and we saw the heartbeat. How exciting! I go back on 9/8 and he will do another ultrasound THEN he said he doesn't plan on doing another until 23 weeks!!! so i'll have to wait until then to find out the sex (if the baby cooperates : )......I guess I could pay for an earlier one to find out the sex maybe ?? I dunno. We went to Babies R Us to check out things (didn't buy anything yet!). Boy, that place is overwhelming. We'll be in there for days I have a feeling. I haven't bought any maternity clothes yet but i feel bloated all the time...the only thing I wear on the weekends are some Old Navy drawstring crop pants...very comfy! I need to go buy some lounge wear---I live in pajama pants and tank tops when I get home from work and only have one comfy pair of pants now.I live in a small town just outside the city and daycare for me will be $100-110/ week......I can't imagine paying $900+/month!! I wish I could stay home but that just isn't an option for us right now. Hopefully my mom will help some days so not to take them to daycare so much Hope everyone is doing well. Take Care, Laura EDD 3-28-04 |

Hey everyone,
Kitara, All I can say is I feel for you! I was sooooooo tired from about 6-14 weeks. It got a lot better around 14 weeks and now at 18 I am even better. The only thing that helped me then was to nap during my lunch break and eat my lunch at my desk while working. That nap even if only 30 minutes made a HUGE difference in getting through the day. But for the most part, I came home from work each day and flopped, was asleep each night by 8:00. Well I agree day care is sooooo expensive, but when you think about it, you want your child to be taken care of by well rounded educated adults. So paying big bucks is what it takes to keep good people working in daycare. I have convinced my Mom to juggle her schedule, and I will juggle mine, and she is going to baby-sit for me most days. I am going to pay her about $600 a month, because she will have to reduce her hours a little bit at work. I feel VERY lucky to have her. Plus I would rather pay her to baby-sit anyway. I am single, theirfor the sole income for me and baby to come, so I can't stay home. I WISH I could....at least for a year or even 6 months. My work does not even have any leave, and we are such a small company the FMLA does not even apply. So I am stuck with whatever vacation I can save from now to January. I did talk to my boss and he may let me go part time for a few weeks after I use all my vacation so that I can still be with baby and breastfeed exclusively for at least a few months. ![]() |

oh! could you change me to 34 weeks please????
thank you! Speaking of FMLA---I had to spend a chunk of my morning dealing with the paperwork for my leave. My OB took me out of work Friday due to my hypertension. I am due 9/25 but we are planning on an induction sometime around 9/11. I went in for a non-stress test Friday and the baby decided he would not cooperate and move for the nice doctor, so off to the hospital I went for a biophysical profile and another NST. The biophysical was cool because we got to see the baby in a little more detail than we had before. All was well with baby and he perked right up as soon as I got to the hospital. I wonder if this is a sign of things to come?? ![]() Anyway, so now I am out on disability for the next 4 weeks until baby gets here, so I will probably be hanging out here a little more now that I have some time! The good thing is I am not on bedrest--I just can't run around like I normally do. I am planning on finishing up some shopping online and I am still looking for a "going home" outfit for baby. I am here in Atlanta and I am thinkin the weather is still gonna be a little warm. Hope all is well with everyone! |

Hi everyone!
Hope you are all feeling well, and those of you who are not, I can totally sympathize. I just came back from the doctor today and they have scheduled a c-section for me this Friday. Of course I could go into labour before then. At first I was quite disappointed that I would not be able to have a natural birth experience like I orginally hoped. But now that I have had time to think about it and discuss it with my DH, we both know its the best thing for our daughter and that her health is the most important thing. So now I am just getting excited because I can see a light at the end of the tunnel. I am not looking forward to spending 5 days in the hospital, however. Anyway, I have to go so I will try and keep you posted. Good luck to all those who are still trying Btw summer, sorry to hear that you had food poisoning, that is no fun at the best of times ![]() |

Hi everyone! Haven't been around here much because we're in the middle of painting and rearranging the whole house. There's stuff all over the place and it's driving me batty, but at least some rooms are shaping up, including the nursery.
I guess I'm getting the nesting instinct, huh?Kitara, would you mind changing one more? I'm now at week 28. Went to a show last night and I swear, she must have been doing backflips in there. The music was cool blues and not too heavy, but I guess it was loud so I didn't stay too long. As for the question about staying at home after baby's arrival, I will! Except I will also be working, as I'm self-employed and don't have a paid maternity leave. I'm hoping to at least slow down to a crawl for 2-3 months. After that, I may hire someone to come in a few hours a day to help out while I work. Requiem, how exciting that you'll have your little one in your arms by the weekend! I'm sure all will go well and wish you a speedy recovery. Reese, enjoy the time off! ![]() Gotta get to work. I hope everyone has a great day.

Alrighty... Can I join? I have two positive pregnancy tests and lots of symptoms, just in case you need verification!
LOL!I don't know QUITE how far along I am, but my last period started on July 7... Guess that puts my conception sometime around the 21st... Anyway, I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Jennifer (could you guess?), and I'm 26 (27 on the 23rd), with a wonderful SO (Hank), a beautiful 7 year old DD (Allison), and a Stepson-to-be that is so well behaved it's scary (Devon)...
