Possible and IMO healthier! (atleast healthier than how I ate while pregnant 3x). You just have to be mindful to NOT get into ketosis. And I would suggest getting a supportive Dr.

Thanks. I'm not in ketosis right now and still lost almost 5 lbs the first week on lowcarb. I still eat a few more veggies and fruits than I should, but I think that's ok because they are good for me. I've basically cut out bread, pasta, potatoes, rice and other starches and almost all sweets.

Been there, done that... Twice!!
I low carbed during both of my pregnancies (and while breastfeeding). Definitely much healthier eating than most of my friends. If you are looking for support, go to the Maintain Lane section of this bulliten board and you will find many ladies who are low carbing and pregnant. Good luck to you! |
