Birth Control Pills and Atkins

Last year I started to take birth control pills and gained 25 pounds from them in six months. I started Atkins 6 weeks ago and have lost a total of 12 pounds. I would like to go back on the birth control pills again, but afraid of gaining weight....Has anyone else been in a similar situation and tried the birth control pills while on Atkins and kept on losing weight???????????????? I'm on em. It's a bit slower for me then when I wasn't, but then again there could certainly be other factors involved there and not just the bc. I am losing tho.

what kinds of pill are you on?

Let your Dr konw your concerns about the weight gain and maybe he can recommend a different pill for you.

I use the min-Ovral and have no probs with losing weight while I'm on it. I am considering the patch though, but I'm not even sure it's available up here in Canada yet.

I'm on Cyclessa - it's a low dose one. I've had no problems losing. If you switch to a lose dose pill, don't be surprised if you have some breakthrough bleeding at first. With me, it subsided after a month or two.
