B: 12oz coffee, 1T coconut oil, 1T hwc, 1T butter, pinch of salt, pinch of cayenne..my first official BPC
D: attempted to eat 3 chicken wings, 70g of cucumber and 4T jalapeno dip..that was the plan..got through 1.5 wings and a few slices of cucumber and dip and bam..I hiccupped...that's my full signal telling me danger..eat more and you will be hurting

Now I'm psyched that on this diet I'm never hungry and that I've re-learned to listen to my pouch when it comes to hunger and being full..but this is getting a little ridiculous. I wasn't even hungry when I had my BPC this morning, but I knew I had to get some calories in..had that around noon. Attempted to eat dinner at 6:30, not yet hungry, but wanting to beat my 7pm cut-off. Now I'm full and probably hit 500 calories today if I'm lucky.

Not all days are like this..but it is happening more often than not.

Well I waited about 10 mins and then tried eating again. I was able to finish the rest without a problem. Guess I didn't chew too well on the initial wings and they stuffed my pouch. I don't usually like to push it past my first sign of fullness or take longer than 15 minutes total to eat as I don't want to overeat. But considering how little I'm taking in, I think I need to be less rigid about some of my WLS-specific rules I set for myself.

My protein has been running low since I'm not eating as much, so I'm thinking I may need to add protein powder to my morning coffee. As much as I don't want to since I'm trying to avoid the artificial sweeteners, I don't want to habitually have such low protein! My protein for the week has been 57, 32, 34, 34, 56, and today 17.

I know what your mean, but sometimes I'm hungry and sometimes I'm not.

I skipped dinner last night.

B - 4 slices bacon and butterscotch toffee sf iced coffee with cream and ccd
L - half an artichoke with mayo
D - some porterhouse steak

Tap dance class, hula hooping in the park with a friend, then impromptu dance party with neighbors.... all because I decided to spin my poi while I grilled my steak lol

Walk at the harbor, 30 mins practice with levitation wand, 10 minutes hoop

Today

Change in plans... my coworker gave me about a half cup of tuna salad, a few cheese cubes and a hardboiled egg (didn't eat much of the white because of allergy) so now I ate that for "lunch" and will eat what I brought for lunch, for "dinner"

B - 2.5 slices bacon and butterscotch toffee sf iced coffee with cream and ccd
L - half cup of tuna salad, a few cheese cubes and part of a hardboiled egg
D - 3 oz porterhouse steak and a bit of cauliflower with cheese

I'm having a very rough time with my 2 teenage boys. One just started driving a few weeks ago and it's very anxiety producing waiting at home for him to arrive safely. Trying to stick to basics but my weight loss is at a stall and has been since July.

Yep. My daughter started driving, too... That, work, a family health scare, and just life in general has me all over the place with eating. I've managed to mess up both knees somehow - I think it might be arthritis in combo with the cyst in my right knee, so exercise is also spotty. I don't wanna sound like Debbie Downer, but I will say again, prepare for the bad times that will come down the road by practicing good habits now. That's about the only semi-positive thing I have to say.

Thanks, HT. I am much better this week. I started walking and being much more mindful of my snacks, which can get out of hand. I am at a new low now---172 and working at getting into the 160s soon.

I just have a hard time posting in here because I easily eat 2x as much as you do on any given day, if not more. I don't understand how you can eat so little - I would be ravenously hungry. It just confuses and upsets me. Not mad at you - mad at myself and ashamed to write what I actually eat...

Why? What you eat is perfectly appropriate for a post op of your time frame. What's not appropriate is someone at that stage eating 600-800 calories a day. When you compare it to someone like that who is eating next to nothing, whether they are a new post op, being overly strict in their consumption, or just saying they are eating next to nothing (when in reality they are not), it might appear that you are eating out of control - but from what I've seen the QUANTITY you are eating is not out and out crazy, it's just the content of the food you are choosing SOMETIMES that needs tweaking.

Basically what I am getting at is you are letting someone else's comments shame you, even if it is all your perception and not intentional, and THAT is NOT the purpose of this thread at all. And I cannot blame you for not being part of it anymore. For myself I started to feel that it was no longer a realistic view of post op WLS eating at all and no longer got what I needed out of it. It can be disheartening to struggle with something and not have a place that understands those struggles or your relationship with eating.

I haven't been posting in here because I post my meals in other threads and I thought it might be redundant.

I am 5 years out and still have to force foods to make it above 900 calories when I am eating on plan. I have been doing this because everyone jumped on me (not here..other places) about only eating 800-900 calories daily. So for the past 2 weeks, I've increased to 1200 calories by eating more meals daily and increasing the calories. And so far I've GAINED weight. With all things equal EXCEPT for the calorie increase, I saw a gain, which only leads me to believe that is it, and I really should just go back to eating only when I am hungry and only what I naturally select to eat without trying to inflate calories with extra fats (dipping sauces, etc.) or turning to shakes to try and up my protein.

I will add that there are other things this could be:
my body could be adjusting as I did lose 44 pounds in 2 months
I am coming from a 2 year carb binge-fest where it wasn't uncommon for me to eat mainly carbs and processed foods
could be water retention..but 7 pounds?
I haven't weighed on the same scale or at the same time of day--I do not have a scale at home.
TMI..could be potty issues
shark week keeps coming back and not on schedule, so my hormones are going all wacky
