If it's a trigger for me and causing me to overeat then I put it in the junk category by default.

Good morning, it's Monday and back to work after my "birthday weekend" - birthday was Friday and I celebrated by going into Boston for dinner and a concert followed by a nightclub for a couple of drinks. Hey you only turn 55 once!

My eating was not as good as it was all of last week.....back to it last night having just steak and green beans while the family had their potatoes.

Today's plan:

B: protein shake
S: 1/2 low carb tortilla with PB
L: salad, have SF jello and SF pudding if I feel like it
S: veggies and hummus (if I need it)
D: fish and veggies

I always way overpack a cooler for the day Monday through Friday and my office is stocked with healthy options too.

Hoping to be able to get away at lunch time for a walk to the beach. If not it can happen after work and I have to really scrub down my second floor bathroom which should count for a workout considering the state it's in!

I ended up not eating dinner yesterday. Not on purpose. I was busy and my appetite was really low yesterday so by the time I realized I should have eaten, it was late...

Today's plan:

B - 2 sl bacon and sf butterscotch iced coffee with cream and CCD
L - most of a chicken thigh and a bit of broccoli and butter
S - SF hazelnut mocha (hot coffee, half-n-half and sf chocolate syrup / hazelnut splenda)
D - I moved some tri-tip from the freezer to the fridge yesterday, I might BBQ that (I am a newbie at BBQing, it's easier than I thought it would be).

Still the cravings persist. I spend all day feeling so lethargic. I was supposed to get 3 miles yesterday and got zero. As I'm standing there shoveling crackers in my mouth I'm asking myself why and have no answer other than I just don't have the energy to stop myself. And carbs *are* quick energy.

Today I need 5 miles. It's too stinking hot to get them done unless early morning or late late evening. I may try the gym. I may do nothing.

B - mint cookie protein
decaf with a sploosh of caffeinated coffee in it
L - smoked chicken breast, tomatoes, avocados, chickpeas, snap peas, hummus
s - ?
D - more of the same?

I need to push water. I'm puffy, bloaty, and just overall feeling blah.

I felt AWESOME in Alaska. Texas does not agree with me at all. I'm sure it's the 40+ degree temp difference and the un-awe-inspiring landscapes as well as a lack of "walk out the door right into freaking epic" activities. Seriously.

I keep slipping back into my old "putting me last" behavior. I stopped it last night by excusing myself and putting myself to bed at 8pm because I was exhausted and needed to take care of ME. I am tired of losing and gaining the same 4 lbs!

B: coffee, protein shake
S; Zero vitamin water
L: 1/2 LC pita with tuna salad and lettuce, sm protein bar
S: if needed I have veggies and hummus
D: stir fry with chicken sausage, onions, green peppers and whatever other fresh veggies I locate in the frig

Have a great day ladies!

This was me yesterday. I am pushing water today myself. There are days when I am apathetic like you're feeling and (me yesterday) and days like today when I am feeling energetic and determined. I wish I had the answer for both of us!

B - SF butterscotch iced coffee with cream and CCD; 2 sl bacon
L - sausage patty, most of an egg, 1/2 oz cheese, flax muffin
S - sf hazelnut mocha (hot espresso and steamed cream, sf chocolate coffee syrup, hazelnut splenda)
D - not sure... dinner with girlfriends and they picked Mexican... I don't like the restaurant, I have to highly customize my order. Oh well. I guess I will add some cheese and sour cream/guac to some grilled meat and overpay for it because the beans, rice, chips, etc etc that I will ask they just leave it off... no subs necessary

I'm far from apathetic. I'm just exhausted. I have every desire and interest in logging the miles but can't muster the energy to do it. Not in 100+ temps feeling like I do and I'm too beat to do anything but hit snooze in the mornings. FAR cry from a week ago where it was 65 and everything felt great!

I need to offload some fluid, ugh.

B - mint cookie protein
decaf coffee w/creamer and splenda, water, tea
L - chicken, chickpeas, tomato, avocado, snap peas, hummus
water, tea
D - I have chicken breasts in the crockpot with some salsa (my 15 yo's favorite, he was over the moon this morning when he saw it)

I need to avoid late night eating at all costs. I've been up until 1, sometimes later each evening and having trouble getting up in the morning. No real reason to be up other than I'm just awake. Usually laying in bed watching Netflix or reading until I feel like I can doze off.

In the meantime, I'm late night eating. Snacking but tooooooo much of it. Between dinner and bedtime (about 5 hours) I had some micro popcorn (1/3 bag?), a protein bar, a Kind bar (the kind with 4g sugar), some crackers, more crackers, a handful of dry cereal, decaf sugar free international coffee and a protein drink. Really? REALLY? It's not a ton in the grand scheme of things, but it is unnecessary calories and I was not hungry (I'm rarely hungry). They're all carby so I attribute it to the carby fast energy food cravings.

I need 5 miles today and 12 miles this weekend.

Back from Disney where I stayed mostly on plan and lost 2 pounds.

Ate mostly tuna fish pouches, cheese, bacon and sunflower seeds. Ate a bit more veggies than I normally do. Restaurant eating was rotisserie chicken. Only off plan stuff for me was eating pepperoni and salami in a salad that I didn't know the complete contents of and the available salad dressings had sugar listed in the ingredients. Only used a teeny bit to moisten things, though.

Did not drink enough water and it was super hot. My legs swelled up really badly and turned bright red and purple. Not sure how to prevent that but it was painful and will hinder my plans to do more activities on my feet in the future.

Does this happen to you frequently when on your feet for periods of time? What about during prolonged sitting?

First thought is venous insufficiency. Your heart isn't pumping well enough to prevent pooling in your legs. Have this checked out. This is a precursor to DVT, which isn't pretty. The fact that it was painful concerns me.

Look into compression socks or sleeves. These will prevent blood pooling and help with circulation.

Overslept this morning and I had to have my son at band practice by 7am. He made it at 0702, and yes he gets "in trouble" for being late even if it's 1-2 minutes. I have been horrible about getting up on time lately and that's twice this week he's been late. I also couldn't get to sleep until 2am last night. So... I had a protein bar, some rice milk, some hot chocolate and some Cheetos that I ordinarily would not have had if I had been asleep. Insomnia really stinks.

I need to call the hematologist again today to see if they got my referral yet.

B - mint cookie
decaf, water, tea
L - probably mint cookie as I didn't make time to pack my lunch
water, tea
D - no idea. Hubby might be going to OK or LA to the casino. My kid is going to the water park with band and will be back at 2130 so I'll have to stick around to pick him up.

Need to keep late night snacking to a minimum.

Hi Peeps. Just stopping in to say hi. Work has been super super busy and it exhausts me. I'm still at my lowest weight in decades but kind of been stalled for a few weeks. Looking forward to cooler weather. Being in NW Arkansas, we have very similar hot weather as you, Heather, although a tad cooler.

I was doing okay until yesterday... Returning to work has me super stressed. Everything I would normally do in a school year has changed due to state assessments, new administration, and a brand new book/curriculum after about 10 years of the same 'ol same 'ol. Add to that the fact that, for some strange reason, people are looking to me to be somewhat of a leader in a few areas, and I am just a basket case. Did I mention I already have a few situations where I feel I am not going to be supported in the way I need to be (a key person that gives information and assistance has not been to work for three straight days)... Very stressful to me.

Not using it as an excuse and certainly not going to let it continue. It was one evening (and about 800 calories) of bad choices. Today is a new day and I'm once again back on board.

I need to start posting here on a regular basis. I have become really bad and complacent in this and other areas of my life.

So far:

Coffee (thats all) terrible

L-Probably a late breakfast

D-Chicken/salad maybe (again, been bad about planning this out)

I went to zumba this morning...my fav instructor was out so they subbed with the worst one they have she drives me insane...only made it through half of the class. Well...some is better than none. I guess... School starts for my kiddos on Tues so I am off to get haircuts and shoes. I will drink water the rest of the day and try to come up with meal plans for the week. I am kind of glad school is starting so that we have some structure. Try to check in later.

I think I need a revision...a mental revision, too. I am mortified how easily I can go right back to old habits. Hopefully after this very stressful first day of school tomorrow I will be able to get over this. I've done good today so far...but it isn't even 1PM yet. Lord, I suck.

I need a revision as well. I have thought about converting to RNY but at the end of the day, I know this is all on me to fix...ugh. You do not suck by any means! If you suck, then I suck lol I have been telling myself this is like an alcoholic in recovery...its an every day struggle to not go back to old habits and addictions.
