Good idea!
But since I'm only 4 weeks post-op, my menu is quite boring: oatmeal or cream of wheat; greek yogurt, refried beans, protein shakes, cottage cheese, smooshed veggies.

B: 3 slices bacon, one egg, hm sf chai latte
L: Pure Protein Bar it was going to be chicken salad, but errands got too long
S: sf chai latte
D: Caprese bruschetta~ Tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, fresh basil and fresh mozzarella on crackers
S: chia yogurt pudding, maybe another tea, it is in the 60s here

Doing: made a new flower bed which I hope will become a perennial garden. Digging and hauling compost. I was super happy because my very elementary compost pile had decomposed enough that I had beautiful soil for this new flower bed.

Add another protein bar and 100 cal package almonds. I got no sleep and have some uncomfortable things going on right now. I'll get through this without too much damage I think.

Too much coffee / caffeine and AS today. Extra morning coffee, two flat sodas and an afternoon coffee too.

B - Home made mocha w/ extra coffee and a cheese sausage
L - company bbq - beef patty, couple pcs onion pickle and lettuce, mayo and cheese
S - hazelnut coffee, breve, w/ splenda
D - not sure... gotta go grocery shopping. Thinking steak and asparagus with mayo sound delish

Adding food, snack : small vanilla cone from McDonalds. I'm fine with the ice cream, worked with all my targets today. I wanted to make sure I added it to my log, because if I'm going to post a food log it should be accurate.

Yeah, yesterday I screwed up. DD made an angel food cake. I shouldn't have tried it - stressed out as I am. You all know what happened.

Today is a new day and I'll treat it as such.

B: coffee and eventually a yogurt
S: cucumbers and hummus
L: pot roast with a little gravy
S: 1/2 protein shake maybe?
D: steak on the grill with some salad
I'll try to stick to this...no sweets today.

Not my usual day
At a parade and then boating ....I knew it would be like this because, well I didn't pack a picnic so ate like everyone else. I'm not upset though, because I normally eat very well and I have no desire to eat this way with any frequency. So here goes

Chai latte and 1/2 egg salad sandwich
Pure Protein bar
Nature valley crunchy granola bar
1/2 a corn dog (dog got the other half)
cup of chex mix
Two bites of a brownie
About 1/4 c of ice cream
Home at last, left over grilled shrimp

exercise: I'm going to walk at least 2 miles at the gym. I have been off exercise due to last week's procedure and then I pulled a muscle in my back and was told to not exercise for a few days. I'm back to it today...but I probably won't run/jog, just walk today. I will be jogging more as this week progresses. I want to be WELL under 200 by next Monday. Never wanted to be above 200 again. Grrrrrrrr!

L - chicken, chickpea, tomato, avocado, snap peas and hummus

Today's plan:

B - First I snacked on some Skinny Pop popcorn, then a hardboiled egg in the car. I inhaled a piece of yolk in and had a 20 minute coughing fit so I only ate half. I wasn't in the mood to eat the rest. I ate half a beef stick when I got to work then I tossed it, not hungry enough.

water water water

L - chicken, tomato, avocado, chickpeas, snap peas and hummus

water water water tea

s - pure protein chocolate

D - no idea. Leftovers? More of lunch?

I have an acro yoga class tonight at 7 that I'm excited about. I may or may not take a kickboxing class right before that at the gym.

Acro was fun. I'm in the pink.

B - 1/4 cup nuts and raisins
water water water tea
L - chicken, chickpeas, tomato, avocado, snap peas and hummus
water water water tea
s - chocolate protein
D - no idea

I have 4 miles to log in the heat tonight because I was too lazy to get up out of bed this morning!

Still haven't had a chewable simethicone and don't find myself craving them most days at all. Not bloaty or gassy most days either! Hmmmm... coincidence?

Weight is stable too. No swings or gains lately. Clothes are fitting well, no snug stuff happening.

I relied too heavily on protein bars yesterday - I was at a doc apt about an hour from home and missed my opportunity for the lunch I really wanted. I ended up with a fro yo smoothie with whey protein. strawberries, and choc-dusted almonds in it. Then, I had already had a protein bar for breakfast and also had one later as a snack. I didn't eat badly carb-wise - just too many calories. I'm around town and doing better today.

No exercise until tomorrow - I had a suspicious growth/pimple-like area removed from under one of my eyes and I have 2 stitches right now. She said take it easy for 24 hours and that's right about now. I will walk a few miles tomorrow. I'm getting the stitches out on Saturday morning...just hope it wasn't skin cancer.

Planning on a Friday morning weigh-in, also. I need to stay accountable.

That's why I didn't reorder my precious Mint Cookie immediately. I've been without for a while now and it should come in tomorrow sometime. I got to where I would drink 3-4 of those in lieu of food some days (weekends especially). So I needed a break. I'm not as enamored of the other kinds of protein so I don't abuse it. I think when it comes in I'm switching from 1.5 scoops to just one scoop per protein drink.

I'm baby stepping my way through fixing my issues, one at a time. It's working so far!

Fingers crossed it turns out to be a benign growth.

I have way too many protein bars I like in my house right now (Quest bars and Power Crunch bars - all DELICIOUS), as well as 4 different kinds of protein powders that I love (mint cookie, peanut butter, chocolate, and the vanilla I mix my fruit with...). The bars are like candy and the shakes are like chocolate milk... I usually do well with them - not overusing, but being home all day has me wanting them more. Also, I tend to turn to them because they are kind of portioned out - maybe I'm a little afraid of "real" food because, right now, I'm stressed and stress eating is something I easily fall into.

I hope the area isn't cancer, too! She seemed confident that, whatever it was, by taking the biopsy, 9 out of 10 times it never returns. Thanks for the good thoughts, though! I need all I can get - about everything! Also, I am really happy for you about the tablets. I think the worst is behind you now - that is awesome.

I posted in the other thread that I had a mini vacation.

Today I didn't eat much but was too high carb for me

- SF vanilla coffee with calorie countdown milk
- honey milk tea with boba
- half a Philadelphia roll and half a dragon roll (sushi)

I know the protein is low but for a single day I don't think that is a problem. I think I will just have water the rest of the evening.

I'm planning to wean myself off of these as well... the protein bars. They have become a crutch, candy like. I no longer eat them to supplement protein or to replace a meal. I just eat them like a snack or treat! And at 180-190 each that's something I could cut out. That will be my next baby step.

B - 100 calorie raisins, hardboiled egg
water, tea
L - chicken, chickpeas, tomato, avocado, snap peas, hummus
water, tea
s - protein drink (my mint cookie should be here!)
D - no idea?

Workout - maybe a bike ride. I would ordinarily run, but my long run is Saturday this week due to my weekend schedule and I don't want to run today and tomorrow with the way my itb is acting up lately. It's tight. I had dry needling yesterday and the needles hurt going in, a sure sign it's flared up. Chiro said it was tight too. So, resting from running today and I plan to do 8 or 10 hilly miles on Saturday.
