Okay...I was 201.0 this morning. I was SO hoping for 199.9...and doubt it will happen overnight. Good thing is that I am still losing, and I have to remember that just a few weeks ago I was 208.8. 7.8 pounds is really good! I knew things would slow...just wish it was still the honeymoon phase - I'd be done by now! LOL

My Valentine to myself will be ONEDERLAND!!! And also to NEVER return to Twoterville!

I like that the longer I go at this, the fewer cravings I have. I just don't want to mess up the loss I've had so far. Yesterday I was at Panera for lunch. I opted for the superfruit smoothie, with Greek yogurt, etc... I did end up really hungry later on (too soon). I was at Target, so I picked up some almonds - just enough for two or 3 servings. I had a good amount, then gave the rest away. Breakfast had been about 2 scrambled eggs and one sausage link. Dinner was some chicken fajita innards - no tortilla, of course. I also had a Quest bar over the course of a few hours as a snack.

I also bought some 1/2 caf coffee. I think I need to back away from the empty calories there. I am going to have no more than 2 cups a day and maybe even wean myself back to one over time. If I had water instead I'd be able to add 16 oz more each day. Water helps me a lot, I think. Coffee, not so much.

Panera had some great high protein breadless options that are not part of the regular menu.

I quit drinking coffee altogether because of the STUFF I felt I HAD to put in it to drink it. I'm not suffering any because of it, you get used to it. I just drink tea pretty much now. And water.

Yes - I've tried - and like - their turkey and steak power bowls or whatever they call them, and also like their oatmeal once in a while. The "hidden menu" items are low-carb and yummy. I just wanted to not eat solid food that meal... Hope it pays off in the morning tomorrow!

I limited myself to 2 smallish cups of coffee today. That's a start.

Another visit. I got acupuncture and electrostim on the needles that were deep in the muscle. Graston release (scraping a thick metal tool on my leg to get the fascia underneath to release and reform), trigger point release (OUCH), worked on my hammies and taped me up with k-tape from waist to knee. I'm sore and I'm sure it'll bruise by tomorrow!

The purple tape goes from my knee up my it band. The black goes across my thigh. The thick black up higher goes all the way to my waistline over my hip.

First is my younger (by 12 years!) sister and I.

Then beautiful baby pictures. ♥

Hi. I just got my blood work results. The cholesterol is up and that concerns me. This is the ratio results I got by putting my numbers in. Heather, or anyone else, can you look at it and give me some advice. I really don't want to go on medicine for this.

Your Total Cholesterol of 238 is BORDERLINE
Your LDL of 121 is NEAR OPTIMAL
Your HDL of 105 is OPTIMAL
Your Triglyceride level of 60 is NORMAL

RATIOS:

Your Total Cholesterol/HDL ratio is: 2.27 - (preferably under 5.0, ideally under 3.5) IDEAL
Your HDL/LDL ratio is: 0.868 - (preferably over 0.3, ideally over 0.4) IDEAL
Your triglycerides/HDL ratio is: 0.571 - (preferably under 4, ideally under 2) IDEAL

Your total is high. Not bad but high. What was it last time? LDL is barely up, HDL is good.

Diet is a big factor. No more than 25-30% of your calories should come from (good) fat. Less if your cholesterol is higher. Less than 7-10% from saturated fats (mayo, dairy, etc).

What are you eating and what are your percentage numbers?

Personally, I subscribe to the Atkins philosophy on this issue along with many others. I wouldn't worry about it one bit, but that is just me.

Mary great pics! Love the shadow ones!

I ran yesterday with Lucy. She enjoyed it. AND I didn't hurt!!! Did my warm up, walked 5 minutes, then ran. I did a mile and a quarter and no pain! It was my first pain free run in well over a month and a half!!!! I'm not silly enough to say I'm cured but it's working.

Meanwhile, I'm bruised from knee to hip from treatment.

Cool pics, Mary!!

Wow, Heather! Glad to hear that! I did something to my right knee 2 days ago (my left was previously my tender one) so now I'm taking a little break. I HATE feeling like I'm injured and can't do what I want. I think I'm going to look into a sports medicine appointment.

Still eating and exercising like I should. Starting to feel like all food is "bad" though, which I know isn't a good thing. I am super-stressed from upcoming work stuff, however. I hope I can relax a little this weekend.

Happy Valentine's Day, Ladies!! I really do LOVE all of you!!

I need to check my older blood work and compare numbers. I'm eating like I have since surgery. I'm not tracking(as I should on *** anymore)==need to get back to that. When I was, I was eating 900-1000 calories with good rations, mostly protein, veggies and a little fruit. I still stay away from the bad carbs for the most part. I'm still slowly losing and am at my lowest weight in decades. 123 pounds gone.

Sounds appropriate. Makes me think your numbers might be lowering rather than rising. If that's the case, no worries.

Heather~ Glad to hear that you are able to run again with out pain that's just great!!

It is funny we all having blood work at the same time , Mine is great no cholesterol worries in that regard. I am still having test done on my back I had to go to the ER cause I couldn't stand the pain , I can't walk or even stand on my right leg. The pain is going down all of my leg down to the foot and even under the foot. Geez I am really getting discouraged not being able to do anything. I know I have osteoarthritis on my back and in my leg. I am on steroid pack right now.

Hope everyone has a great Valentines Day

I sort of hate to post this, but I need to post it to remind me.... today has not been a good food day and I feel it ~ one planned indulgence can be very nice, lots of cookies and M&Ms is not good Hopefully that is out of my system and back to my delicious AND nourishing foods. Junk = feeling junky. On a happier note, dh gave me a gift certificate for a full body massage I will be scheduling it soon!

In a few hours I am going for a series of tests that the local hospital company offered at a very reduced price. These are tests my doctors would not have ordered unless I was having an issue, and the point is I don't WANT to have an issue, so I'm going to have them look at these things. It involves some blood work and then ultrasounds of a few places. I'll also have an EKG and some other things I can't remember off the top of my head. Afterwards, I will reward myself with a few miles on the elliptical at the gym... I walked about 2.5 miles yesterday and my knee hurt a bit then, but isn't any worse this morning. I hope it was just a temporary thing.

Jesse - Learn from it is all we can do! Sounds like you are right back on track. I personally did manage to avoid a huge amount of sweets and other bad things yesterday (Panera cinnamon crunch bagels at the top of that list), but I weighed today and only see about a .5 loss for the week. I think my enemy right now is (still) empty calories in coffee and other drinks... Man, it is such a pain to have to watch everything so closely!

Joyful - I'm really sorry to hear about your ER visit. I hope the meds help.

Chewie - Congrats! 123 pounds down is absolutely awesome!

Heather - So happy to hear you're running without pain! That is awesome.

HT I think being down .5 is great, you had a big loss the last couple of weeks, and as we all know, that is sometimes followed by a stall or even slight tick upward. So you are still burning fat, it will show up later on the scale!

Yes, I'm back on track today I thought about not weighing, but I made myself do it and yep I was up a pound. Lots of drinking fluids and It's a good thing my ds and dh ate the rest of the cookies so I didn't really have to exhert much discipline as our house is pretty treat free normally Drinking my sf chai latte and I will have an omlet made with broccoli and some feta shortly. Need to restock on groceries etc so I will be out and about today and busy, so that helps too. Hope everyone has a pleasing Saturday whether it's chores, fun stuff, exercise or just relaxing

I knew a slow-down was coming...its just a little discouraging to not even get a POUND! However, I have til Monday morning, so it is still possible and I am not stopping until all the weight I gained is off, so I'm in it for the long haul.

Your pound will be gone before you know it. It isn't those occasional indulgences that do you in - I think - it is day after day of slipping and allowing things you really know you shouldn't... I'm just thanking God that I was able to stop doing that and get back to what works for me.

After the testing I went with a friend of mine and we walked a little over 4 miles. It wasn't super fast (she can't run due to knee surgery and issues...), but it wasn't a leisurely stroll, either. My knee isn't feeling bad, so I am a happy camper.

Happy Weekend!!

Down is still down! TOM is here so I'll probably still be up on Monday again.

HT add clamshells and reverse clamshells daily. Let me know if you need specifics. They are saving my running!!!

I need clamshells...guess I can google it? Or YouTube?

I'm excited to report I was 197.2 today! I think I was holding onto some water... I also walked those 4 miles yesterday, so I'm sure that didn't hurt!

My goal is to try to lose 8 pounds by St. Pat's day...I might not make it...but, then again, I might!!

I'm also going to run in a 5K in early April. My last one I came in at 39 minutes and change. My goal is to improve my time. If I'm down 20 pounds by then I bet it will help a lot!

Yes! For every pound you drop you do gain speed. A smaller lighter person can move their body faster than a larger heavier person. I read Racing Weight and it was a wealth of information.

Oh and yes. Youtube has some good videos on clamshells and reverse clamshells. I do 25 each three ways each side. Yes, that's really really 300 clamshells lol. They go fast though. And are easy. I also do glute bridges, one legged glute bridges.

Hi. I avoided the valentine's treats---yeah. I checked my blood work and smarty pants Heather nailed it, my numbers are actually dropping. 6 months ago the total was 248 so it's down 10 points. I'm not going to worry about it at this point, just keep on doing what I need to do. I had ham yesterday so no weigh in for me today. My ring is tight. LOL Pushing water. Have a good Monday, not my fav day of the week. Good job HT and Heather on the exercise. Jesse--good job on getting right back to healthy eating---that's the important part, forget the negative part cause it's over.

After much foot dragging I've scheduled my first routine colonoscopy. Not so afraid of the test, the drugs sound good, but DREADING the prep. I've read the literature they sent (appointment is still 4 weeks off but I like to plan ) I have to drink a gallon of gatorade mixed with 8 ounces of a laxative (I forget which one, miralax I think) followed by the bottle of magnesium citrate. Whew! I still struggle to get my fluids in most days, I hope I can do this. I'd hate to get there and have them tell me my prep wasn't effective.

That happened to me. It was only partially effective... Good luck with all that liquid! If I had known how difficult it would be, I would have gone to liquids only a few days before...

Call them. Tell them you are post WLS and that amount of liquid is near impossible. And ask if they have an alternative. I wouldn't be able to stomach the gatorade - sugar. I'd be sick and hypoglycemic quickly.

I had to have one before my surgery. You didn't? Mine ended up horrible cause they couldn't finish due my windy colon and I had to have a barium enema. UGH
