I Had My RNY

I had my RNY July 16 and did very well. I've had no problems or complications at all.

My all time highest weight in Feb 2013 - 358

Day of surgery - 319

One month later - 300

YAY, right? But, the scale has not moved since Aug 16. As of this morning I am still exactly 300 lbs.

I eat between 500-600 calories a day - mostly protein. I am drinking 64+ oz water daily and getting all my vitamins.

I will admit I am not getting much exercise, but trying to get in more walking.

Someone please tell me the scale is going to start dropping soon...

Yep - Keep doing what you're doing - the scale will move again...big time!!! Exercise helps, and take advantage of your "Honeymoon Time" to make good eating and exercising habits stick now - they will serve you well later when you are years out like many of us are. Congrats on a great start!!!

I would have to argue with myself that there is no way I could not be burning fat at 600 calories a day when the scale stopped moving ~ and I was right, I was burning fat, but for all sorts of incomprehensible reasons it doesn't always show on the scale, which is measuring weight, not fat loss. You are burning fat too, and the scale will finally reveal it soon. Look how much weight you've lost already! Keep doing what you're doing.

It took me almost two years to loose my weight and my highest was 275.

But in the end, I was grateful because it gave my skin time to readjust itself. I had a lot less skin issues than I would have if I lost it all rapidly.

Hang in there.

Yes, if someone on a WLS board says "I hit the dreaded three week stall" everyone knows what they are talking about

I was so upset that the most I ever lost in a month was 17 lbs, but after close to 4years, I went from 325 to 114. I am now 10 years post op and still weigh between 125-135. So all is good you will get there, it just may take a while I figure it took me 15 years to gain it an in the scheme of things, 4 years was nothing. Good luck
