Spent the night at my parents' lakehome this week with my kids and dh. The first evening dh and I went canoeing. It was so lovely and peaceful. The lake was very still and the sun was starting to set and I again gave thanks for the changes in my life that enable me to say yes! to canoeing instead of thinking, the canoe will ride too low in the water on my end, I can't sit comfortably, my knees will hurt.... the next day we and the kids spent part of the afternoon playing on the speedboat. Even with the saggy skin I felt so comfortable in my swimsuit (okay full disclosure it does have a skirt, so maybe it is an old lady suit but I think it's cute ) and could move around the boat and in and out of the water easily. my sleeve.

Hot Tamale I can't believe how fast you recuperate from really tough medical stuff. If I had just recently spent time in the ICU I don't know that I would be back to work so soon. You're amazing.

Happy August!

My little girl turns 18 tomorrow. Sigh.

Well she's in Japan right now so it's already her birthday.

I need to order balloons. She'll be back Saturday.

Busy busy busy time for me! And I have a new office mate so not so much logging on from work! At least for a bit. But it's good because essentially I'm fulfilling 2-3 roles in my current position and once she's up to speed she'll take the physician burden off of me mostly.

Setting my intentions for August...

Weight back into the 140's.
Log 40 miles running for the month.
Stabilize back to a clean, more whole foods woe.

Got up, peed, weighed. Up 1/2 pound, no big deal. Got dressed and then, ummm , needed to go Arguing with myself now to just move on with the day and NOT get undressed and weigh myself again to see if the 1/2 pound is gone I know I'm not the only one who has had this type of inner dialogue!

Nope you aren't, and since I only weigh once a week now, I would have totally done it!

! You are not the only one! My scale electronically transmits my weight via WiFi to a million different apps and websites... you should see my graph. Some days... lots of weigh ins. Pre-potty, post potty. Morning, evening, post run...

Thanks, but I'm not amazing...I just have bills that must be paid! And, since I am a teacher, I have to be back the first week to get all the new info and instructions (big email and webpage changes...) and I have to stay back because, in my opinion, if I'm not there for those kids the first week I'll never really get them "back," if that makes sense...

But thank you. I had another ultrasound of my elbow area - I didn't realize phlebitis is actually a clot, but in a more superficial blood vessel (is that how to say it, Heather?), and my blood doc was worried about specifically where it was and talked about the potential for it to travel (generally this is not a concern)... I left there slightly satisfied, but mostly worried...Just frustrated with feeling so cruddy still.

In any case, it is the weekend, and I am all about resting! I've walked 4350 steps so far today...Might get to 5K. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Hi Ladies. I have been MIA around here...trying to get back to it. Mom had her revision surgery May 28...was doing great...I started a new job and BAM...She develops a new ulcer.

I just don't get it.

I am trying to get back on track with my eating. I bought up a bunch of Atkins meals for lunches...Today will work on meal planning.

Weight...my scale needs a new battery so I will weigh in the am.

Hope everyone is well

Welp my little girl arrived safely home ... got her at EWR and then got home by 630ish. Ordered a pizza ...she was very happy to have real pizza again haha

I had to wake her up around 1/130 today so she could acclimate to the jet lag, et al.

Sam was out in the pool swimming. I haven't been allowed to go in the pool for two weeks since the op sx I had two weeks ago. So tomorrow I get to go in yay!

Watching Orange is the New Black. Last Episode of the season is next. I may have to watch it again!

These are some pics from the Splash Dash 5k the other weekend (was it last weekend?). I kept looking at them and focusing on the roll of fat over my waist... until it hit me. That's my runner's fanny pack. I wear a SpiBelt on runs to hold my phone (gps tracking for speed and distance as well as music) and key fob.

Now of course all I can see are my wierd thighs. That finish line pic is my sprint to finish at just over 7 min/mile. Yeah, that's NOT sustainable for me!

You look awesome, Heather!

I'm checking in, too.... I feel like I've been on vacation for most of the last month... which isn't entirely true, but we have taken a LOT of long weekends.

I weighed last night for the first time in a month, and I'm down a few more... which I like... but for me, the challange is to be more active now. My doc wants me to work in more "normal" food (ie grains, fruits, etc) but when I eat the carbs, I feel like crap. So more protein it is!

I've been having back pain like crazy... my chiro says it's because of my weight loss; my body is trying to adjust to it... did anyone else have this issue?

Mine wanted me to eat more grains, pastas, etc too at about 2 years out. I didn't either. But I did start eating a few other things at his recommendation and yeah, I let way tooo many of them in now. Stick with your gut. You know what will be taboo for you. As long as you are getting adequate calories and protein and your labs look good... then all is good!

Back pain - yes! Especially during my active loss periods. Started high, then low, then high, then both... when my weight stabilized it pretty much went away shortly afterwards. Your center of gravity is changing. Your body will adjust.

I didn't have back pain, but I had a lot of trouble with the tendons that go from calf muscles and connect at the shin. I was hobbling it hurt so bad. I actually ended up doing physical therapy. It turned out the problem wasn't my feet, it was because a lot of my core muscles weren't engaging anymore and my gait was all wrong for my new size. She broke it down and had to teach me to retrain the muscles and now I can walk and walk. At first I was really mad because I thought what the heck! I lost a hundred pounds and NOW I can't walk without pain?! Thankfully all fixed and I now have stretches and exercises to keep it from coming back.

I went to see Les Miserables with dh, dd and 3 of her friends last night. The girls have been a part of our lives since they were toddlers and preschoolers, and now they are in college. What a pleasure to spend the evening with them They feel more like nieces to me (one is my goddaughter) then simply friends of my daughter. As we were driving there, my dh remarked about how the seats in this theater were uncomfortable, and that they must be the original seats from 1920s when it was built. I used to agree, and endured the seats because who doesn't want to see a broadway touring show? I can say now that weighing 130 pounds less, the seats are plenty big and cushy and any discomfort I feel now is because there isn't enough padding left on my behind. I love my sleeve.

Exactly why mine is NOT living with us at the moment. But in a different aggrivating way. She refuses to follow rules. Granted she's 18 and while technically an adult, it's still my roof. Her roof, her rules.

So she's currently living under someone else's roof.

Samantha just turned 18 Friday lol. She got her tongue pierced. Not the worst thing, but it's just dumb imho.

Otherwise she can be okay, she's a teenager, a senior and is strong willed (I don't know WHERE that came from lol).
