It's almost August. I want to lose 6 pounds in the month of August. I will post that again when we start the new thread... but I just wanted to share, since I think I am going to start weighing on Mondays, and next Monday is August!

Hi Peoples! Can you believe back in the ER today with phlebitis at an IV site? I thought it was a clot: red, warm, swollen, hard... With a history of DVT I wasn't taking any chances. Very scary couple of hours until they did the ultrasound.

Maybe my only good thing to take away from it all was it kind of re-set my stomach to eating smaller portions less often. I haven't eaten much today and I am happy about that. Just need to get back in the scheme of things and then start walking...

Usually my posts will be what am I doing... lol... I don't really keep track of my eating ... since the revision and my pouch was made much much smaller than the original surgery, I can barely eat...also, I can't keep water down. Go figure. Never thought I'd miss water.

Today I am going to write to my daughter (email) who has been in Japan since 7/5. She comes home Saturday 8/3. She will be 18 on 8/2.

I need to call a friend/coach (whom I used to work with) who has a balloon biz and will have her do something really cool to pick up on Friday/Saturday.

Then I'm going to go to my nail salon because the owner/friend needs me to notarize something for her.

Then maybe go to Wegman's and pick up some kind of sandwich or sushi.

Then home. I wish I could hop in the pool but I'm forbidden for two weeks since my op sx last Monday. So only six more days to go until I can hop in.

And that's my story and I'm sticking to it....

for today.

Ended yesterday at 1300 calories with 2273 total calories burned for a deficit of 1037 calories.

It's a total mental thing. I found myself wanting food yesterday evening - but I wasn't hungry. I had the calories to spare so I had an orange.

Today:

8 oz hot water with lemon juice
B - 0% Fage, frozen cherries, splenda - topped with 1/4 c Fiber 1.
40 oz tea with splenda
L - will be chicken breast, cottage cheese, chickpeas, and pepperoncinis
s - mint cookie protein
D - no plan for this yet.

Do - Insanity maybe. I won't be off work in time for yoga at 7pm. Maybe nothing. Run tomorrow.

S - Atkins daybreak cranberry almond bar 150
L - Chef salad 315
S - Cherry carbmaster yogurt 60
D - Beef Merlot and Broccoli 310

Not quite sure what "Rose" is but my revision....was to make my pouch smaller from my initial RNY sx 9 years ago. It stretched due to complications w/an antidepressant.

A rose procedure is an endoscopic revision to the rny. Basically they go in endoscopically and staple "pleats" in the pouch to make it smaller. I was asking what kind of revision procedure you had to make your pouch smaller. Some people revise to a DS, some with band over bypass, some just redo the pouch... I thought I remembered you saying yours wasn't surgical so my first thought was that one.

This is what happened....

Not my Psychiatrist but another one that I had to see, "made" me go on Lamictal (was on Wellbutrin).

What happened was, I got hungrier and hungrier and didn't notice because I only ate when hungry and I had stayed the same weight for over two years. I never, hardly ever, weighed myself.

It was spring/summer and my clothes were mostly dresses and loose skirts.

It wasn't until fall, when I started to wear pants to work, etc, that I noticed they didn't fit. I blamed the clothes (of course lol).

Then I weighed myself. I had gained 40 lbs. I couldn't figure it out. I belonged to a women's support group at my former therapist's office. One of the women, who has since become a very close friend, was telling me about her new med....Lamictol...and how she was always hungry and seemed to gain a bit of weight. She has ED and is in recovery so it was EXTREMELY upsetting for her.

Then it clicked. I told her what I was going thru. So I saw my Psychiatrist and we went off that and back on Welbutrin. In the meantime, I was trying like everything to lose weight.

I went back to pre and post op menus, all sorts of stuff like that. I only would gain back what I'd lost.

So, no, the med itself won't make you gain, but you just have to pay realllllll close attention to eating habits.

I know what procedure you're talking about, it goes by a different name as well. No my insurance wouldn't cover it....of course. I had to do a lap revision.

I like that Heather is medical and nosy! She probably helped save my keister the other day! Heather, here's a medical question for you: What can I do to encourage the reabsorbtion of the internal bleeding...and/or reduce my swelling. I see a bit of improvement, but not much... Good news is it is almost 4PM and I have not been to the ER all day! :P

B - Peppermint Mocha protein shake 235
S - Atkins Daybreak Cranberry Almond 150
L - Salad, turkey, blue cheese dressing, bacon 255
S - Atkins caramel latte shake with an extra cup of cal countdown milk 230
D - ???? I'll be at a concert, can't wait

870 without dinner, so I have 330 +/- 50 cals to work with... not sure what I can get that's low carb and about that... I might just bring another Atkins bar, just in case.

jmhearts - welcome and that is GREAT!

Mary - have fun at the concert! Good luck with spending those calories.

I walked over 3500 steps today - closing in on 4K. That's almost double yesterday. Yes, I am starting to feel a bit better.

I ended up having an almond milk tea with boba. The place we went (after concert) is a one-of and doesn't have online nutrition info, but the generic I found was "A 12.7 fl. oz. serving of boba milk tea contains 207 calories"... the one I had was 16 oz so 260ish?

It's not low carb, but at least I was close to my calories.

I found several that listed this:

Almond Milk Tea W/ Boba
Serving Size: 16 ounce, Calories: 345.5, Fat: 14g, Carbs: 62.9g, Protein: 2.3g

I've never had it or heard of it so I don't know. I do know 8 oz of unsweetened almond milk has about 60 calories. not sure if your drink had added sugar or not, but that's a place to start.

And on the guy friend. Who knows where it will go, but it's an awesome start!
