Hi. I found my copy of the blood work.
Vit B12 says in range at 283 ref range is 211-946 pg/ml
So it's not really that low although on the low end for sure.

I had some other out of range things in my CBC but I don't really know what they mean. RDW was high at 15.3 H, ref range is 11.1-14.9; Absolute basophils was 0.0, ref rang 0.1-0.2; granuloctyes was high 63.6 ref range 50-65; lymphocytes was low 23.3 ref range 25-40 and monocytes were high at 8.5 ref range 3-7. The other out of range things are AGAP high at 23 ref range 6-16; chloride was low 97 ref range is 101-111; and last CO2 was low at 22 ref range 25-32. They did a cholesterol but I was not fasting so I don't think it's valid. Heather can you help? I know it's a lot to review so I really would appreciate it.

I hit a new low on my scale today--93 pounds gone. My July goal is not going to happen but Maybe I can make the 100 pound mark by my 8 month surgiversary???? That's August 3 so only 9 more days to lose 7 pounds???? Probably not but close.

You can start to see symptoms with a b12 less than 500, and can see permanent issues if prolongued. Personally I would not be comfortable with that low of a value for me. I actually range well above 1000. I take 2500mcg sublingually a day.

Everything else I'm okay with... they really aren't that bad.

B - nada, fasting for labs

Protein drink following lab draw. 44 oz diet green tea from Sonic. 20 oz water. I'm pushing fluids since I had 13 tubes of blood sucked out of me. I'm down about half a pint lol.

L - probably a protein bar, maybe another protein drink. It's after lunch and I haven't had it yet!

I wanted to run today but since I'm technically dehydrated now by fasting and losing blood I will probably not do anything.

Savannah,

Protizyme Peanut Butter Cookie... my fav right now.

The white chocolate is gosh that's good! white chocolate powder. I put a scoop of that in with my vanilla protein powder (isopure zero carb) and coffee, calorie countdown milk.

B - White Chocolate Coffee Protein Shake 280
L - Atkins Peanut Butter Bar and 1/2 an artichoke with mayo 400
D - Atkins Crustless Chicken Pot Pie 330
S - I guess a shake or something... to hit 1200 cals

Without S = 1010 Cals. I am not that hungry today. I feel stuffed.

My B12 is only 200mcg. I'm supposed to take one a day. That sure doesn't seem like enough to me. Thoughts?

I am not going to have any trouble meeting my calories today lol

B - SF Vanilla iced coffee and a sausage patty with cheese 380
S - Atkins shake 160
L - Italian stuff 460
S - Artichoke with mayo 150
D - Protein shake 200

1350 cals

PS it's lunch time and I am full so the rest of this italian stuff will be saved for dinner time and if I have the protein shake it will be right before bed. I might not have it and then my cals are right about correct (been aiming for 1200 cals +/- 50)

Get 2500 or 5000 mcg sublingual. One a day. When is he retesting you?

I have a general overall lack of energy lately... we'll see what my blood work comes back as hopefully in the next week or so.

Probably a combination of blood work and diet. I'm not eating as "cleanly" as I would like. More highly processed foods, less whole foods than I'm used to. Probably just a vicious cycle. Yesterday my blood sugar tanked and I never really could get it up enough to where I felt better with out it dropping again. Usually about a cup of milk and a spoon of peanut butter works, I was out of milk yesterday. Eating carbs brings it up quickly, but then it tanks again when THAT wears off... Today I think if I just lay in bed or on the couch all day in one position and not moving I'd be perfectly content in that. Could be protein is down, but I eat a lot of protein. Maybe iron again - that's been an ongoing struggle.

I don't like this feeling, so I'm just going to do what I KNOW I need to do and clean up my eating. I hate feeling like this!

Today I've had 20 oz water and a mint cookie protein. I need to drink a LOT more water, it's 1:30 already.

B - Gingerbread Coffee Protein Shake 225 cals
S - Atkins Daybreak Bar Cherry Pecan 180 cals
L - Salad with turkey, cheddar, onion, pickle, carrot etc ranch almond slivers 230 cals
S - Carbmaster yogurt 60 cals
D - Beef merlot and broccoli 310 cals
S - Peanut Butter Cookie protein shake 205 cals

1210 cals

Counting calories and sticking to 1200 +/- 50 has been working (low carb, adequate protein still of course). My face looked slimmer to me than it has in a long time and my dimples were extra dimply (they get that way when I am slimmest which might seem counter-intuitive but it's true!)

I copied this from my gallbladder question thread in the playground: Thanks, Everyone. I am finally home - what a tough 4 days. I ended up needing 5 units of blood and 3 packages of fresh frozen plasma (platelets, I believe) to help thicken my blood and give me enough blood for it to circulate properly. I had a tight chest and a little bit of mildly labored breathing at one point and so they called a "rapid response," where everyone comes running, they rip your gown down and immediately do an ekg, etc...I didn't even care because the whole situation had given me the worst migrane I had ever had and I couldn't handle light, sound, and I was totally queasy for at least 8 hours. I ended up in ICU for about 2 days (after most of a day in the ER) and then a little over a day in a regular room. It. Was. Awful. But, of course, I'm glad I went. I just wish I had gone as soon as that pain started. Sometimes following instructions just isn't the thing to do.

PS: The way to get rid of all this blood floating around in my abdominal cavity? Let it be absorbed back into my tissues. O,O It will take some time. I'm really not happy with that, either. I look like a stuffed sausage right now.

It is soooooo good to be home. Please say a prayer that I'm through the worst of this.

Okay, so here it is. I'm not even going to hit close to my 8/31 goal of 144. Nope. I'm running, I'm working out, but my food choices are not all that great. I've come to the realization (please let it sink in and stick!!) that my body does not respond well to certain types of foods and that I have no concept of the term "moderation". I can abstain from sugar. WHY can't I just abstain from other things as well? I'm going to hit it hard and get this under control. No gimmicks, no waffling, no fooling myself. 100% accountability. Starting now.

I have a late day at work today so I slept in, got up and ran 2 1/2 miles (mostly ran, some walked - my running has suffered with my eating as well, I've slowed or lost endurance or something!) with Molly. Came in, drank water. Showered, drank a mint cookie protein and got ready for work. Stopped for a 44 oz diet green tea from Sonic and am now at work. Working noon-9 today because I have some late training for the ED staff.

Super glad I got up and ran this morning. Almost wish I would have brought my tennies so I could run again later - it's soooooo pretty out and the park is right behind the hospital!
