Just a quick pop in to start the new May thread... I have to do some rounding here in about 10 minutes...

20 oz water before breakfast

B - 0% Fage, splenda, frozen cherries
L - chicken breast, cottage cheese, chickpeas, pepperoncinis, spinach and snap peas.
s - apple w/ pb probably
D - no idea!
s - mint cookie protein if needed

Workout - I made a commitment to myself to run every day in May, at least a mile a day. So a run of at least a mile, followed by Acro yoga hopefully. The teacher was sick last night so I don't know if class will go or be cancelled today.

My workout was 45 minutes on my bike, almost 10 miles.
My butt and right foot both got numb/went to sleep. How weird is that?

My opinion? Your list is long, but there's no substance to your meals!

Liquid
liquid
decent meal
slider
decent snack
liquid
slider

You're hungry because you aren't filling your tummy up for any substantial amount of time. You're filling it... but it's not keeping. Just going right on through!

More fiber. More dense protein. More non starchy veggies. Try a few days without all the liquids and sliders and see how you feel. Make each opportunity for nutrition with dense len protein - chicken, turkey, etc. I know it will make a difference!

I made that cola bbq chicken last night. It was delicious even though they say not to use diet cola. I did and no biggie. I also made a caramel vanilla latte with decaf click protein powder, 1/2 milk and 1/2 water. I heated it up and it was delicious but I couldn't finish it. LOL I don't normally have anything after dinner so I think it was too much for my tummy. I did drink half so next time I'll just make a smaller one.

I'm going to try wearing sneakers on the bike today and see if that helps with the numbness problem. I've been wearing crocs(Silly me!).

Today:

Overslept. I made my lunch last night thank goodness (because I was excited to pack up in my new Bento box), but neglected to make my breakfast. So...

B - mint cookie protein
L - grilled chicken, cottage cheese, garlic stuffed olives, chickpeas, spinach, snap peas.
s - apple w/pb
D - Probably more of the same... like lunch.
s - I'm going to try NOT to.

Last night I did great until really late. I finished the day at 1900 calories, but 750 of them were mindless last minute snacks. I was at 1200, then added a mint cookie protein, followed by a protein bar (why?!?). Then on the way to BED I ate 200 calories worth of emerald cocoa roasted almonds (which isn't many!!!) and 2 slices of mild cheddar. Really? I totally negated last night's run. And I wasn't even hungry. Fail!

Today's workout - might try the "new" yoga teacher at the studio. She's really not the newest, but I haven't tried her yet. She's the second to newest lol. Otherwise "just" a run.

The numbness is probably from the seat not the shoes. Your sciatic nerve runs down the back of your bootay and down you leg. When you get numbness this is usually why. Try a different sitting position?

And Crocs - throw them out! Worst shoes ever for your feet, especially your arches. Ever!

OK, anyone know if there is some special meaning for "Peggy Sue"? Tonight I was walking my dog and a rather young man said from his car window "Lookin' good Peggy Sue. What are you doing out here all alone?" I didn't answer so he asked again what I was doing. I said "uh, walking my dog?" like duh lol.... he said he is playing soccer and would I care to join them. "uh, no thanks!" lol anyway it caught me off guard... and I am not sure if i should be offended by the peggy sue name or if the guy just thought he was being cute/charming?? He wasn't. He made me uncomfortable.

My bike died on me while I was doing my exercise. GRRRRR I did 17 minutes and then it went back to zero. So I did 13 more minutes and it went back to zero and then black. I found the manual and I guess it needs new batteries. At least I did 30 minutes but I was/am annoyed.

So I've been thinking about my May goals. My biggest challenge has ALWAYS been exercise. So for May, I am going to commit to do a minimum of 30 minutes of dedicated cardio every single day!!!!! I can do 31 days, right? LOL Yes, I can and will. Anyone else with me?????

I am happy to report that it is true for me, too...Eating just protein (mostly) will fill me up and keep me full a lot longer than a protein shake. Now just to focus on not slipping.

The body's the easy part - it knows what works and what doesn't. It's that damn head we have to work with.
