I have been hitting the Greek yogurt hard, trying to get in my protein and to maximize weight loss. I have a 6-month (will actually be 7 month) check-up with both my surgeon and PCP at the end of the month and want to show some good progress. I also expect to be taken off of Lipitor at this time - which will mean will be off ALL prescription meds since surgery (4 diabetes meds inc. insulin, Lipitor, and Diovan). That's a savings of $960/year in prescription co-pays, not to mention the years added to my life.
I also discovered Pure Protein bars, which taste pretty darn good (you won't mistake them for a Snickers, but they don't have a funky dog food taste to them, either). I got a couple boxes of the snack size - 100 calories and 10 grams of protein. |

I like the peanut butter pure protein... the snack size sounds perfect, I don't think I have seen the snack size before.
As for me... MF - Medifast - MF "double" cappuccino shake (2 packs) - MF cinnamon brown sugar flavor crunch cereal - Chopped salad with chicken and sesame ginger dressing - MF chili bites - MF brownie |

I still have two more medifast meals on my "plan" Nevermind... Today:
Weigh in for a work incentive. Their scales are ugly to me. It weighed me in at 150, when every other scale I use weighs me in around 145. 143 if nekkid. I don't wear a ton more at work than anywhere else. They must just not be calibrated right because they do move them around a lot. Oh well, I'm within a normal BMI so I get my quarterly incentive of $75 so what do I care if their scale is 5 pounds off... unless those 5 pounds start putting me over normal BMI and then I have a whole other problem because that means I'm gaining! Today's eats so far: B - Fage 0%, sliced strawberries, splenda topped with cocoa dusted almonds. L - will be canned chicken breast, cottage cheese, chickpeas, and raw spinach. NSA Strawberry applesauce if needed. s - mint cookie protein or an apple D - I don't know. Son has a band concert tonight so probably something easy. Most likely, for me at least, a repeat of lunch. s - apple? Workout - nothing planned. Maybe a run, but I need to work on the house some more. I redid the formal dining room, which was never a formal dining room before. I got a new to me table and some microsuede parson's chairs and some decorations. I plan on working on the kitchen and paring down some more dishes and cookware. I have a lot of Pyrex, but realistically I never really use more than a few pieces at a time. Workouts are still not up to my previous level. That extreme core yoga class from saturday really tore my ribs up again. I'm wondering if I might have a little more than the (self diagnosed) bruised ribs and instead might have a micrfracture on the floating ribs or something. I couldn't bend or move much yesterday without pain. I have a 5k in a month, need to get back to regular running.

NSA Strawberry applesauce?
![]() Oh man, you get a bonus if you are in the healthy weight range? That seems awefully 1950's to me... I worked for a company that gave a discount on health insurance if you were active for a certain amount of time a day (we wore accelerometers... one coworker was lazy and put it on his labrador! lol), and watched one of a set of nutritional videos once a month and answered the questions at the end. I like that plan better! As for me, there is a pizza lunch meeting today... I hope they have salad. 1 - MF Cappuccino 2 - MF brown sugar oatmeal 3 - Salad if available 4 - MF pizza bites 5 - chicken/salad/sesame ginger dressing/ and half a bag of MF chili flavored puffs for croutons lol 6 - not sure, if anything, maybe the MF brownie I didn't end up eating yesterday

As part of my employer's wellness initiative, we have instituted a "nutrition" policy, that simply says if the company is providing a meal or snacks for a work-related event, there must be "healthy options" offered as well. Of course, there is no definition of healthy options provided, but so far there has been no kick-back. This would mean that if we were providing a pizza lunch, we would expect that salad, fruit, or other similar options were also available.

B - Fage 0%, frozen cherries, splenda, cocoa dusted almonds
s - more of those darn almonds L - yeah, almonds. Canned chicken, chickpeas, cottage cheese and spinach. s - mint cookie protein D - no idea! Yeah, so um the almonds have gone to the breakroom on the nursing unit to get them OUT of my house. They are so easy to eat that I eat too many over the day. Too dangerous, too hard to control eating. ![]() |

Any takers for a 5-day pouch test? I know I need it! I will be doing all liquids and yogurt tomorrow. Friday I will be able to have Indian food (going out of town for a doctor appointment where they have a few good Indian places - none in my town, of course...only thing to not put me at over 400 before I had surgery!) so I will be doing all protein shakes except for that meal... Then Saturday and Sunday I will be slowly going through the gradual additions of eggs, fish, etc...
Exercise today: 32 minutes on the treadmill anywhere from 3.8 to 6.0 mph. I ended up going 2.23 miles. Progress. Now to increase frequency while lowering calories and junky eating... I may sound initially impressive, but I am fighting all my food demons. Stress is crazy right now. I HATE IT! Barely hanging on - but the good habits are helping me at least not backslide too far...
