I'm still lurking around. I try to keep up with the thread even though my schedule has been very crazy lately. I am still at 198 . I had actually gained about 5 pounds but I lost it. I am doing good now. I'm back on the right path. I still want to lose about another 40- 50 pounds. I am trying to eat high protein and low carb and it seems to be working. I will try to start posting again. I need to hold myself accountable as well as I can use the support and motivation from you all.
I know I am going to have to have some plastic surgery to remove my belly fat. Did any of your insurance's cover it?

Most will not unless it's considered medical and not cosmetic. And with that you need well a documented history of infections, rash, and attempts to treat. However, I think that there are a few *rare* insurance companies that will cover panniculectomy after weight loss surgery, but I think you have to meet certain qualifications there too?

Mine does not.

I need to check into this, because since my diabetes has resolved I have not had the first rash or infection under my pannus (although way smaller than it was before, I still want it gone). It's my current First World problem - I've lost the diabetes, but also lost the infections that would get me $$$ towards skin removal surgery

My insurance covered my panniculectomy after 18 months after WLS...at 75%. My other surgeries were not covered. I do think they needed before pics - which. were. HIDEOUS! Sooooooo glad I had that surgery. Glad I had all of them, actually.

I reported your post (don't worry, it is in no way a bad thing!) so that our admins can check and see if there is a reason why it shouldn't be there. I'll PM you if I find anything out.

Thanks for the info . I found the video very helpful. I have trouble with skin rashes during warm weather, so I am going to start taking pictures and going to my doctor and getting them documented. I am still diabetic. I'm off all my insulin now, but I did have to go back on Metformin to lower my blood sugars but the endocronologist thinnks with a little more weight loss that I will no longer be diabetic at all.
