Mhm.. I guess my December goal should be something simple..
Eat more protein rich foods! Gonna buy some eggs and cottage cheese (a brand i actually like).. That should do me for a while, I hope.

December goal:Lost 10lbs...this is my surgiversary month. I also need to quit with the coffee HT...But, I just started a new job and have to be here earlier than I am use to. I will try to stick with one. It is soooo easy to start back to old habits.

Coffee, or the stuff you put IN the coffee?

My issue was creamer. I was racking up calories in creamer so I weaned that down. I started each new week with a decrease in creamer so I gradually got used to the taste. Like a tablespoon less. And when I got to the lower end I decreased by teaspoons. Now if I have coffee (I try to have decaf green tea instead but sometimes you just gotta) I just use 3 tsp in a travel mug sized cup (16 oz?).

I'm in the middle of a period of food aversion. I don't wanna eat. Nuthin'.

Well last night I stopped at the grocery store and wandering trying to find something that looked good. I bought a honeycrisp apple as big as my face - literally, a tomato, a bag of spinach and two jars of sf pickles (gherkins and bread and butter), but ended up just drinking a protein drink and munching some pickles.

I have been trying to up my protein this month too. So I'm eating more seafood and lean meats.

Today was a bust as far as food, I was on the go:
5 pc Wendy's Spicy Chicken Nugget (I know not a great choice but had to eat in the car and sneak bites in the library)
48g Chicken thigh
124g Sauteed shrimp
93g Green Beans

Yesterday:
Egg, 1/2 cheese stick, salsa, orange
chicken, small bit of french bread
shrimp, 1/4 pack of instant noodles, carrots, peas
2 chocolate cupcakes, without frosting
lunch meat, carrots

Today
egg, 1/2 serving beef chorizo, 1/2 tiny pita, 1/2 cheese stick
1/2 filet fish, 5 asparagus, 1/2 cheese stick
1/2 filet fish, orange, 1/4 zucchini
shrimp
1/4 c cottage cheese, handful blueberries

I bought $50 of groceries and ended up with a menu for 16 days off of it 4 servings of meat/beans per day, 1 serving of eggs, 1 fruit, 2-3 veggies and 1 grain per day.. I think its amazing!!
I packed the whole day's food today, since I was going to be out.. I blanched when I saw it all together.. An ENTIRE day's worth of food... And it's less than I would have eaten in ONE meal, pre-op..

Dear RNY,
Im so sorry if I ever doubted you, ever said that I hated you.. I LOVE YOU sincerely. You're my best friend.

I cut back on the coffee also because as Heather said for me it was what I put in the coffee. I am now only using protein shake vanilla in my coffee not 1/2 & 1/2 & flavoring just protein shake, sf torani & coffee. I got way out of hand with it & had mostly 1/2 & 1/2

B protein coffee
L 2 egg omelett w/ bacon & cheese 1 sausage patty
D either mahimahi or shrimp single serv cauliflower w/ cheese
S fage w/ sf torani

ice water & iced tea lots throughout the day

weight 229 yesterday

Sweet baby jesus, as of today I've lost 65 lbs. I have 50 more to go until goal. When I see my PCP and surgeon both right after Christmas I'm going to ask them for their suggestions on a goal weight. I'm 5'6 and have set a goal of 140 lbs.

I am leaning heavily on Greek yogurt (sweetened with various DaVinci syrups and usually with some frozen unsweetened dark cherries), chili, scrambled eggs, chicken, and a rare SF oatmeal. Like Heather mentioned a while back, I do better with repetition. Fewer choices means fewer opportunities for me to self-sabotage myself, which has always been my downfall.

I am still constantly amazed by the reactions of those around me. Significant weight loss really upsets the dynamics of some relationships. The reactions range from nearly crying with joy for me to totally ignoring it. I do my best to not take it personally, it's their issue, not mine.

Congrats! 140 is completely doable! I'm 5'6" and vary between 139 and 144 lately. I was down to 133 at one point and in retrospect - while I totally dug seeing that number on the scale - it was too low for me. Now that I've put on some muscle I'm in a much better place.

YES! Not only relationships with people you know, but strangers. My interaction with people now is significantly different. I'M treated differently. I'm sure I respond to people differently now that I'm not afraid to be *seen* and can't hide behind the extra 150 pounds anymore... but the respect is different. I'm not looked through, I'm looked at. People smile at me. Talk to me. Joke with me.

I hear *a LOT* about how I don't understand something because I'm so tiny. Ha! I understand completely. I still have the driver's license picture to prove it.

I'll jump back in, my doctor said I am healing well and can reduce my protein goal from 150 to 100. I hit about 95 today... possibly closer to 100 cause I don't count the protein in the fruits and veggies and I do know they contain some protein.

B - Lean Body Shake (40g protein) with a bit of coffee and soy milk (another 5g pro)
L - Fage yogurt (maybe 2/3 cup) with 8 blackberries and one ring of fresh pineapple (15 pro)
D - Maybe a cup and a half or two of home made Chicken Veggie Soup (extra focus on chicken, guessing 15 pro)
S - Quest Bar (gotta get that protein up) (20 pro)

Wow Melodye! I look at your menu and wish I was there again - honestly! I have about 15 pounds to go to be where I think I want to be and here I am, messing up. I need a swift kick in the keister! Congrats, everyone, on the good habits you are developing.

today food was ****, but i went to the gym!!

Ate half a small fry, and 3/4 a mcdouble from McD's throughout the day.
Ate 1/4 potato, topped with brisket, sour cream, cheddar and chives.

I went walking through a park that goes up and down and all around, really steep hills for an hour..
Rested while driving/trying to find my work out clothes (about 1h15) and then swam 8 laps (6 laps regular swimming/1 lap back stroke/1 lap butterfly). After rested and stretched in the hot tub for 30 minutes.

I feel really good

Well Awlass, McDonald's is never the healthiest choice, but I can think of a few worse things to eat. Good job on your exercise!

Okay Ladies, I am back on track now. I am having coffee, but I don't feel like I must have it anymore. I'm having it because I need a burst of energy to get my work done by my 10AM deadline... I will be honest and tell you yesterday was the worst eating day of my WLS life. I was/am super stressed out and a lot of people gave me little gifts of candy yesterday. What a deadly combination. I will tell you, I felt mentally terrible and physically ill most of last night.

Today is a new day. No more candy. No more carbs...as in bread/rice/pasta/sugar. I have surgery this coming Thursday - I have to drop a few pounds and just feel better. I also plan on walking every morning between now and Wednesday.

Hope you're having a good day. Happy Holidays, Everyone!
