You are not alone. I posted my confession/horror story from yesterday evening in the other thread. It was by far the worst of the weekend, but not the only binge I had. Oh, and add the toppings from a piece of pizza and the crust edge in there too.

Today's eats:

24 oz water before breakfast.
B - Fage, cherries, splenda
s - 12 oz hot tea (not green today), hopefully 48 oz water before lunch
L - 1/2 Joseph's Bakery pita filled with wedge laughing cow cheese, 1 cup spinach, 4 oz cottage cheese, 53 grams (1 serving) deli chicken lunch meat. 4 oz of cottage cheese is probably way too much, but I started out just wanting the cottage cheese and spinach for lunch kinda like a salad, but decided on the rest after it was already scooped out. I'll start with 2 oz and see how that works out.
s - 1 1/2 scoop mint cookie protein made with water.
D - I don't know. I have some ground beef thawed out.

Today's dos:
An hour of hot yoga.
I really need to blast this regain off so I need to think about hitting the gym after yoga. I'd go before but yoga is at 545 and I'm usually off work around 5, so no go. I need to either run, or try the Monday Zumba class - which I hear is more traditional and Latin and the instructor is not verbal but gives hand cues. Supposed to be more "intense". I'm not sure I'm there yet.

I gotta get serious about this and STOP SABOTAGING MYSELF! I get back to 130's and start binging again and hurting myself.

Was this a bad weekend for carb load or WHAT!?

I had 2 bowls of cereal yesterday, some grandma sandwich cookies,a cherry limeade (I ordered diet, but it was the real deal and NO I did not send it back), chips and salsa, wheat thins....I'm sure there is something(s) I am forgetting.

What makes me SAD is that I do this without THINKING. I don't stop and say..."Hey! Cut it out"

B-I am alone at work and did not bring anything (really smart!)
Had a "healthy" nature valley bar. So carby... and a sf red bull

L-not sure yet...something from the cafeteria

D-Either breakfast for dinner or pork chops & veggies

I miss these. I haven't had one since before surgery. I *know* I could get a diet, but I don't do carbonation. Not because of the pouch stretch theory (I don't buy that at all - we are open ended!), but just in general. The gas, the leeching, I just decided early out not to. Now why can't I have principles like that when it comes to everything else?

I think in my case it makes me sad because I AM telling myself to stop, but I keep doing it anyway. I just tell myself to shut it and keep eating.

Dinner last night was a half a chicken breast, a bite of zucchini (literally) and 2 1/2 pieces of pepperoni cheese bread. They were about 1 - 1 1/2 inch thick slices, so not HUGE. I'm okay with that though. Carby, but still well under my calories. I even had a NSA skinny cow ice cream bar later. 1311 calories total.

I did an Insane Cardio class last night, and believe me - it was! I got home too late to make it to yoga so I did this class. It was tough, but I really liked it! Sprints, burpees, squats, pushups, crunches. All in one minutes sets with the exception of the pushups and burpees. Those were two sprints, then 25 burpees, two sprints then 25 pushups. He told us at the end we'd just done 100 of each. In my head I was like "um, yeah. I totally fibbed my counts because I totally DIED well before 25!" I think I'm going back next week, but of course that means I'm gonna miss my Monday hot yoga class. I'll have to pick up another one during the week... only issue is the instructors are less intense and it's not a hot class.

Okay, now today's eats:

24 oz water before breakfast
B - Fage, cherries, splenda, Special K, ground flax
s - hot green tea, splenda, at least 48 oz water before lunch
L - taco casserole (Bariatric Foodie recipe)
s - Well, I forgot my mint cookie protein, but I have two single packs in my drawer - Roadside tea and Carribean Cooler. If I can talk my kid into measuring me out some mint cookie and driving it to me...
D - I haven't gotten that far. I'm not doing so well on this goal yet, am I!?! I have some ground beef thawed in the fridge that needs to be used.

Today's dos:

It's gym day, so 3 miles on the treadmill plus whatever else I decided to try while I'm there. I have an audiobook on my iphone that I'm gonna try listening to while I run. Usually I just listen to music.

Here's what I ate today:

1 cup iced coffee + heavy cream + SF vanilla Torani's syrup on drive to work. Also nursed a 2nd cup of coffee + cream thru-out my 10 hour shift.

Meal #1: 1 cup cottage cheese (the full fat kind)

Meal #2: 3 homemade turkey meatballs plus homemade marinara sauce with lots of veggies in it. With some melted mozzarella cheese.

Snack: 1 serving peanuts, 20 cherries, and a handful of sunflower seeds in the shell (over the course of about an hour while I chilled in front of computer)

Meal #3: 3 baked chicken wings.

Now I'm taking my final vitamins and meds and heading for bed.

You don't have quantities listed, but a day like this would send me into an automatic feeding spiral. I would feel so mentally deprived that once I got home all I would want to do was graze! Well that and I don't like tuna.

Man I am soooooooooooo sore from Monday's cardio class! It was a bootcamp/crossfit style format. That, p90x and Insanity all rolled up into one. I went to bed in my bra and t-shirt last night because I could not get my arms behind me far enough to unhook it OR pull the shirt over my head. Yes. It's that sore this morning too! I just rub rub rub the muscles and grimace, it's that hurts so good type feeling. Wow I haven't felt this sore in these areas in a long time. I usually jog the stairs when I take them, today I am just dragging myself up them. I guess I'll try it again next week!

Today's eats:

30 oz water before breakfast
B - Fage, cherries, splenda
s - hot tea with splenda, minimum 48 oz water before lunch
L - stuff. It doesn't have a name. It's lean ground beef, cabbage, garlic, lemon ponzu sauce (like a citrus soy sauce), rice wine vinegar, sesame oil, crushed red pepper, black sesame seeds, ginger, various other spices, and some splenda to give it that sweet and spiciness. Yum. And an orange if I need it.
s - Yay! Mint cookie protein made with water.
D - As usual, I have NO idea! I need to get a new crockpot so I can use my meals. I'll call the hubby and have him take something out to thaw. He's off work today and tomorrow.
s - maybe a nsa fudge bar or nsa skinny cow sandwich

Today's dos:

I skipped the run yesterday as I didn't get out of work until 5:30 and needed to get home to start dinner. Tonight is Zumba at 7 and I'm going to aim for getting there no later than 630 so I can log a run before class. 620 would be even better.

I'm reading - just not a whole lot to say right now. I am eating a lot better since getting back to work. That's how I operate. Less time to graze and mess around with food. I am down to 187.0, which makes me really happy. I plan to meet my 183 goal - or get darn close anyway. All we can do is our best as often as we can. More soon, I promise.

187!

I do better at work too. It's a more structured environment and I'm limited to just what I plan and pack. No pantry to graze through!

I've seen 0%, 2% and 4%. Is full fat one of those or is there another one? I guess I've never looked! Do you do full fat for taste reasons? I use 2%, I never use the fat free because it tastes too thin. I have found, however, that the lower the fat content in a food the higher the protein content. My favorite brands flavor wise are Breakstone's or Simply.

STILL sore from Monday! Not near as bad, but it's pretty up there still. It's awesome.

Last night I went to Zumba, then ran/walked for 15 minutes after. I meant to go before, but I had to stop off at WM after work to pick up some yogurt for breakfast today and some cash for my daughter. I can't wait until she gets her first paycheck from her new job. She started in the middle of a cycle so it's three weeks before she gets paid. Next Tuesday I think it will be. Last night's workout session burned 530 calories in 80 minutes.

I closed the day at 1298 calories in with 2305 calories burned by 9pm (I took my BMF off to shower and never put it back on - so it was probably more like a 2500 calorie burn day!).

Today's eats:

24 oz water
B - 6oz Fage, 1.5 cherries, splenda (125 calories, 18g protein, 0 fat)
s - decaf hot green tea with splenda, 48 oz water minimum
L - 1/2 Joseph's Bakery pita spread with 1 wedge laughing cow cheese and filled with 2 oz canned lemon pepper chicken breast (never tried this before, usually I get the plain), 20 grams raw spinach, a few banana pepper rings and 3 oz cottage cheese. Topped with lots of pepper. It's totally filling! (186 calories, 26g protein, 5g fat)
s - 1 1/2 scoop mint cookie protein made with water (210 calories, 35g protein, 3.8g fat)
D - no idea! Hubby didn't take anything out to cook last night so I had the pita thing, if he doesn't today it'll be the same. He's off work again today.
s - If calories are low maybe another protein drink, or a nsa skinny cow ice cream sandwich. Yesterday my calories were so low after dinner that I had BOTH.

Today's dos:
I'm torn. I want to go to power yoga tonight since I missed Monday, but there's a support group I wanted to try to go to as well. They are in neighboring cities (and we're only talking 10-15 minutes apart where I live) at the same time. I think I want to try the support group again. I went to it once pre-op but it was a joke. Perhaps it's changed. I guess there's nothing to it but to try it, right?

You're almost down to coffee-free!

The mint cookie I am absolutely addicted too. It's sooooo good. It's to the point where if I forget it I don't want to drink my backup that I have in my drawer because that means I won't get to drink the mint cookie. I start looking to rearrange my eats to fit it in later. I have it on autoship monthly. <3

How do you like the kettlebell class? I hear good things about it. We did something in Insane Cardio monday that I think would work well with kettlebells, but I've never used one. I really wish my gym offered more classes, so much so that I've considered changing. Only problem is the other gyms don't have much more to offer in my town and the one that does doesn't have 24 hour access. Not that I USE 24 hour access, but I like having it.

You guys are doing so well these days! Congrats! I have to say, being at work agrees with my eating a lot. I made egg salad thinking I'd eat it all today but I have more than enough to eat tomorrow for lunch and a snack, too.

Heather - I meant the 11/64 book - I can never remember the exact date, but its that one. It is a great book. Long book, but it reads so fast I didn't even care. For sure the best King book I've ever read, in my opinion.

Waves to everyone... Sorry guys, I get pooped by this time and just can't concentrate enough to write more. I'll do better on the weekend!

My food yesterday was not so hot. DH decided he wanted a cheat meal...Chinese food from the mall....so I guess I justified having many cheats throughout the day. I started off with my regular SF iced coffee with Heavy Cream. I went into town for shopping at many different stores. Got a pack of donuts at Walmart. Ate 2. They aren't even that good. I should throw the rest away. Then I got something new from KFC called "bites". OMG what a rip off. $3.49 for literally 6 bite sized pieces of original boneless breast. Got a popcorn and a cherry slushy from Target. Had a bite of DH's chinese food. I didn't think it was very good. Too bready and tasteless. Had a 2-pack of Reeses peanut butter cups. Made DH a stir fry and had a few bites of steak and had a couple of cherries. Seems like I didn't have much real food. LOL.

OK my strange cheat day is over. So far today I've had a chocolate protein shake for breakfast. I've got some ground beef thawing. Plan on making taco meat with half of it, and I'll make some hamburger patties with the rest. So for the rest of the day I plan on filling up on hamburger patties and veggies and cherries.

I'm laughing at the work thing. It took me forever to realize I didn't have to pack soooo much food for the day because I would just end up carting it back home again. Back and forth. Now I bring an extra fruit or a cheese stick and call it good, besides - I have my drawer stash that I rarely dig into except for the green tea.

I'm listening to my audiobook almost nonstop lately. They escaped from Room and are now in a Care Clinic (psych so the boy can get acclimated to the world and get therapy to help him cope). I really like that it's told from his point of view, it makes me giggle the way he sees things, even serious things. I've got a few library ebooks that I need to read up before they go back, but then I'll start the King book. I can't wait!

What's your protein count like lately? Even if it's your "normal" amount you have to remember that you have a wound to heal and that requires a lot of extra protein. That may be why you are tired, because I don't remember that being like you at all. Your body might be requiring much more protein than you are giving it right now. I know I'm exhausted if I have less than 120 grams a day, and feel best at around 150.

Good job picking up and moving on! I call these types of days my "binge" days. They are horrible, I feel like I am eating nonstop and I just have no control over things. A bite of this, a little of that. I hate it.

I don't eat Chinese food at all. Everything is either saucy, fried, or seafood. We went one day because my son wanted to. It was a $12 buffet and I looked and looked. I opted just to sit and drink water rather than spend $12 on anemic iceberg lettuce and a tomato. There was literally nothing else I would eat. So, I just don't bother with that type of food anymore. There was a Mongolian Grill that I would consider, but it burned down. This one you fill up your own bowls with raw meat, raw veggies, fillers (noodles, rice etc if you want it) and sauce and they cook it for you. Kind of like Ghengis Grill, but even better. At Ghengis the sauces are premade, at this one you make your own from individual things like soy sauce, ginger, garlic, red pepper oil, sesame oil, salt water, sugar water, etc. It was awesome.

Today's eats:

Argh a small handful of tortilla chips and grapes on my way out the door, which means I didn't get my 24 oz water in before breakfast. Bad decision. That's at least 100 extra calories - I haven't added it yet.

B - Fage, nsa crushed pineapple, unsweetened coconut, splenda
s - hot green tea, minimum 48 oz water
L - cabbage, ground beef, seasonings. Orange if needed.
s - 1 1/2 scoop mint cookie protein made with water
D - no clue. yeah still sucking at this August dinner goal thing!
s - nsa fudge bar if needed

Today's dos:
Gym for a run. I have to. If I don't go to the gym, then outside and it's so freaking hot out there!

Last night. I didn't do yoga and went ahead and went to the support group. I'm gonna talk about it in the other thread.

HT I agree with Heather, my surgeon had me on 200 grams of protein a day after my arm lift / upper body lift / reverse tummy tuck

mongolian bbq places... I wish I didn't like Asain food so much!! Sushi, dim sum, pot stickers, fried rice, meat in sweet/savory sauces, stir fried veggies, shrimp, korean bbq, tempura... yum yum yum

B - 1/3 packet SB Via instant brew in protein shake with extra 1 cup of calorie countdown milk and 1/3 cup half n half (no wonder I am still not hungry!) and since I like the coffee taste, added decaf
L - carb master yogurt with 1/2c frozen blueberries and the asparagus I didn't eat yesterday
S - 3 breakfast sausages
D - Salad of chopped chicken, brocolli slaw, shredded red cabbage, carrot and lettuce, green onion, almond slivers and sesame ginger (low sugar version) dressing... yum!
S/T - Quest bar

Exercise - Bike Ride? Swim? Not sure yet... but I'll do something

Mary.. 200g a day?! How in the world do you people consume so much?
I dont think I could do it, even if protein shakes were the only thing I ever drank/ate.

Let me tell you... it wasn't easy and I didn't always make that target! It was just short-term though (few weeks), and my surgeon instists that it makes a difference in healing. Since I felt super overheated all the time I do believe my body was hard at work repairing itself. I would have several protein shakes a day, and protein bars, and greek yogurt... then I would take collace, magnesium (natural calm) and as much fiber as I could to balance out the binding effects of the high protein and the pain killers. Speaking of pain killers, that made it extra tough because they absolutely ZAPPED my appetite.

Edited to add, I thought it wouldnt be too hard, since 120 grams or so is easy for me. But the difference between 120-150 and 200 seems like a huge leap when I actually tried it! Plus, you aren't supposed to have more than about 40 grams at a time! So it's not like I could make a thick shake with 100g protein twice a day.

My usual consumption is 90 grams or so... I don't have malabsorption, so my surgeon recommended 60-90... since I exercise allot my surgeon recommended me to be at the higher end. I can pretty much do that without thinking about it. It's all about the habits lol
