Hi! Here's what I'm up to today:
Exercise: Walked for about 80 minutes this morning. I'm not totally sure, but I'd estimate I am going at least 3.5MPH and probably between 3.5 and 4MPH for just about the entire time. Food: B: 2 links sausage, 4 big mushrooms, and maybe 1/2 C potatoes S: Greek yogurt L: 1/2 peanut butter protein shake with some sf marshmallow torani syrup S: 2 sf fudgicles D: I'm thinking half a chicken sandwich with lettuce and mayo S: I'm going to make some protein pudding (I'm not in love with it, but I bought it and need to use it. Good news is I don't like it enough to eat too much of it...) I was 197.0 yesterday. Today I was 196.5. Nice to see the scale headed down.

Yesterday and today was spent traveling Dallas to Houston and back again for a soccer tournament. Eating out of the car to save time and money (no eating out) was a full on carbfest. I feel bloated, gassy and just plain blah.
Tomorrow starts another week of cutting and reducing starchy carbs. I weighed in at 145 again today, 3 pounds up from Friday, but that should go quickly once I'm eating right and DRINKING WATER again. |

I hear you on the water, Heather. I was 195.9 this morning - and I really thought I'd be higher... I had a run-in with a bag of pistachios and I figured the salt alone would do it. Still, I already got up and walked for an hour and the scale says 195.9 so I will take it for sure. I did not meet my June 1st/4th goal, but at least I'm on a downward trend. I'm going to try for 193.9 or less by this Friday (my plastic surgeon appointment...).
Menu: B: bacon, tomato, and mayo onhalf a pita S: sf pistachio pudding with some pretzels and some sf whipped cream L: turkey, cranberry sauce (not too much) and maybe 1/4C mashed potatoes with a little gravy (I made a half turkey with a lot of the T-Giving trimmings yesterday...) S: Greek yogurt D: more turkey dinner probably S: last serving of sf pistachio pudding with sf whipped cream WATER WATER WATERRRRRRRRRRRRR! (and NO PISTACHIOS TODAY!!!) Today I'm off to a goodish start. I did snack a few extra almonds when I was weighing them out for my lunchbox today... but that's okay. I'll count them.
Drinking my first bottle of water right now, eating those almonds threw me off my schedule of drinking it in the car on the way to work. Next I'm drinking my hot lemon water. I don't know what it really does for me, but I've read it's cleansing and my yoga instructor swear by it. I actually enjoy it in the mornings. I have Chobani 0% plain greek yogurt and nsa mixed fruit cup (peaches and pears) for breakfast (leftover single serve containers from this weekend). Lunch is going to be just shy of 3 oz of t-bone steak (the yummy side of it) and some garden cherry and yellow pear tomatoes. And a cheese stick or applesauce if neccessary. I have a 1 1/2 scoop protein drink for around 3-4ish today. I don't know what dinner will be, but something delicious and low in starchy carbs (for me at least!). I'm doing an hour of power yoga tonight for exercise.

Mmmmmm mint cookie. My current addiction. I have never loved protein more than I do with Mint Cookie. I use 1 1/2 scoops per 6 oz of water and pour over ice.
Last night I ended the evening with some struggles. This after feeling SOOO thin all day yesterday. I had a decaf nsa Suisse Mocha. Then a little later a sf hot cocoa. Then some almonds. THEN I had two slices of wheat toast, one with pb and sf preserves, the other just with sf preserves. Right before bed I had a piece of laughing cow cheese. It was all I could do not to eat any more than that, too! Today, so far so good. Bottle of water on the way to work. Hot water with lemon when I got here. B - 6 oz 0% Fage with 1.5 oz frozen cherries and splenda. L - I brought more t-bone. Just under 3 oz again, from the yummy side. I also brought the other half of my homegrown vine ripened mortgage lifter tomato. I've NEVER had a tomato this delicious. OMG. I also brought a cheese stick if needed. S - 1 1/2 scoop protein drink (mint cookie). D - Again, no clue. I'm bad about that. There's a meatloaf recipe I've been wanting to try though so maybe that. My goal today is to not graze, period, when I get home. |

hmmm, sounds like we're all airing our dirty laundry, so here's mine...
I ended up getting myself a fruit and yogurt parfait from McDonald's... However, when I got home and served up everything to everyone else, I ended up eating 3 chicken nuggets and probably a dozen fries. I also ate the rest of the pistachios from the other night, and, as a night cap a few hours later, I had a (2nd) key lime greek yogurt... Today hasn't been stellar, but I can change from this moment on - and I will! B: 2 eggs with mushrooms, green peppers, and onions...and some cheese S: chobani blood orange yogurt L: 2 small slices homemade pizza (with peppers, onions, and mushrooms & 2 slices pepperoni...) S: a little leftover turkey with some cranberry sauce D: chicken thigh with some broccoli WATER!!! I need to move past this (bad) (over)eating... Exercise: I didn't walk today. I have been cleaning out and rearranging my pantry and my kitchen cupboards. It isn't high intensity, but it is almost continuous movement, so I almost don't feel too guilty about not walking. Ladies - Hang in there! We just have to regroup and, I know for me, I have to start really planning and writing down what I'm eating. Every nibble and taste, even. |

I ended the night last night with way too many cocoa roasted and cinnamon roasted almonds. So I pre-portioned them and stuck them in the freezer. I also ended the evening with a toasted english muffin with peanut butter and sf preserves, and a piece of whole wheat toast with sf preserves. That was around midnigt, and that needs to stop. I should just go to bed earlier and I would save about 400 calories easily.
Today: B -0% Fage with strawberries and Splenda s - decaf with splenda and creamer L - Turkey meatballs, green beans, cherry tomatoes and a Dole nsa mixed fruit cup. s - will be a 1 1/2 scoop mint cookie protein drink D - will be greek turkey meatballs with some sort of veggie side. Probably some tzatziki as well if I can find some. The store I was at earlier had tons, but it all expired today! s -maybe a sf italian ice, but hopefully nothing else. This is when I start grazing... I brought my workout gear to work with me so I can go straight to the gym for a workout. Oh snap, but now that I bought some raw ground turkey during lunch I don't know how I'm going to work that. I guess stick it in my gym locker rather than leave it in the car? Might go stick it in the freezer for a while to help keep it cold. |

I made homemade blueberry compote with brown sugar splenda blend and then made some cream of wheat to go with it... at 9:37PM. I wish I had gone to bed, too...
This morning I made a mostly blueberry pancake and ate it with some of the compote and a spray of whipped cream. It was soooo good. After that I've had a greek yogurt and half a protein shake with chocolate powder and a bit of peppermint extract (you guys have me craving the mint chocolate). It was pretty good. I also had an Atkins' granola meal bar. So far, not too bad, but I'm hungry again now. Feels like I need a real meal. Guess I'll go rustle something up... |

Okay, change of plans. Dinner will NOT be greek turkey meatballs. I'm thinking Nik's Taco Casserole instead. I'll save the meatballs for tomorrow night I think.
I did a 4 mile run/walk interval at the gym. Felt awesome, although there were times when I really just wanted to stop. So what did I do? An extra mile. Take that, ego. I stopped at the grocery store to get some tzatziki (they had none either, wth?) and walked out with some Ranier cherries (heaven!) and some whole pitted dried dates (they are like candy to me, and nsa!). Um... and some jalapenos, and some cilantro, and some sf jello cheesecake mix. Random. I'm drinking some splenda sweetened tea, about to google for this taco casserole recipe, and then I need to start hitting the water. I've had about 36 oz today, which is about 1/3 my usual. My office has been super duper freezing cold because they switched the air to "summer" mode, and my controls don't work. I just ain't feeling the water in that cold. I guess I could switch to hot decaf green tea and it'll count as water. |

An hour of power yoga this morning. I had pb crackers just prior to going.
I had a taste of chips and homemade salsa (all from my garden) when I got home. 6 chips and some salsa, then I followed it up with a protein bar. It's 3:45 and that's where I'm at with my food today. I'm about to shower and make a protein drink after. Dinner, no idea. I have a ton of leftovers. It's movie night in the park and they are showing the newest Muppets movie. I might see if my son wants to invite his gf to come along (they are 13, ah young love). |

It's been quiet lately, I assume we are all busy having awesome lives and eating awesome things!
I had some RH last night, which was the first time in a good while. Totally caught it when I was dropping, but ate about 350-400 more calories than I would have for the day because of the need to get my sugars back up... I ended up having a package of pb crackers at about 1130, some sf strawberry preserves, and an orange. I would have ended the night at around 1300 but this episode put me right at 1550 instead. It's okay though because I burned just shy of 2000 so I was still at a deficit. Just not as large a one as I would have had originally. I did an hour of hot power yoga last night and requested extra hot and extra power. I've already had 24 oz of water. B - was 0% Fage with frozen cherries and Splenda. s - will be decaf, ff creamer and Splenda. L - 5 frozen appetizer sized turkey meatballs, sliced tomato (Mmmmmm! Homegrown Mortgage Lifter tomato!!), and a Dole NSA fruit cup if I need it. s - will be a 1 1/2 scoop mint cookie protein drink made with water Dinner - I have options. Our freezer door was left open all day yesterday so I cooked 3 bags of chicken in a crockpot, 2 pork roasts in another crock pot (all these will be shredded and repackaged for the freezer for use in soups and casseroles). We also grilled pork chops and turkey brats last night so we have leftovers. I lost all my sf popsicles, fudgesicles, and italian ices. The kids lost all their frozen dinners (school's out), frozen waffles, and etc... I also trashed several packages of ribs, turkey bacon (really, no loss there - yuck!) and hot wings. I'm hoping for some good sales this week so I can price match, coupon, and replace it all. I kept all the ground beef thinking since it was still really cold it *might* be okay, but I just refroze it and didn't cook it. The stuff I did cook was in the freezer door so it defrosted the most. |

Oh no! All I could see when I read about your freezer door was $$$$$!!!
I have just returned from three days away from home. I took some yogurt and Atkins bars, and generally didn't do too badly, but I did eat way more carbs than I usually do. I did drink tons of water and I did walk like a mad woman around a theme park... I am glad to get back to my normal routine. More tomorrow! |
