Everyone!

I didn't make it here last night too tired! By the end of the work week I'm pretty
tired. I wanted to call in every day this week. I think I'm just burned out. Only 3 weeks till vacation & I'm very ready too.
I'm also having back problems lately & hope this ends soon I want to exercise, but this is next to impossible if i can't stand straight just a little frustrated here. Has anyone used walking poles for support?
On another note a NSV here finally can get rid of the granny pantiesback in the hipsters, so sorry if this is TMI!!
back for more tomorrow

I had my echo today. She couldn't tell me how it went technically but she said she had a feeling I would be recovering from surgery soon lol. She said I should be getting my clearance next week. So all testing is done!

I ordered a sampler pack from unjury today so I could check them out. I am really picky about protein shakes. The only ones I have been able to drink in the past are the EAS low carb ones. I looked at the premier ones at Meijer, I may pick up a four pack just to check them out.

I am going to stop at GNC next week and look at the Oh Yeah ones. I have heard good things about them also. I have a tub of the Nectar chocolate already that I bought awhile ago and I wasn't crazy about it.

Hot Tamale: I hope your stress level goes down. Maybe you need to take a few days off to decompress?

Savannah: Hi neighbor! (I am in the DFW area too)

HAB: June 8th it right around the corner!

Emily: Happy Birthday and Congratulations on doing so well a year out from your surgery!

Maryposa: How are you feeling on the liquids and yogurt? Love the video!

I posted earlier and have no idea where it went. I have been super busy and stressed at work. I took Friday off and went out with my husband while the kids were in school. It was fun. I am cleaning house today. BooHiss!

I met with my surgeon on May 3rd. He said he would see me again in 4 - 6 weeks Is this really going to happen? I'm hoping for the 2nd week of June. Today I went out and started buying a few things- chewable calcium, chewy vitamins, a food scale and a new blender. WalMart had these really cute sets of "tasting bowls" by Libby for $14.97. It's 12 dishes that look like small wine/martini glasses and 12 little spoons. Probably hold a 1/2 cup at most. There is a similar set at Pier 1 but they were $24.00. They also had a set of really cute little ceramic bowls and little square plates too that could be fun.

All pre-ops hang in there it will happen! I remember it seemed like forever from my
consultation until I got new insurance Jan 2012. Then I made that call & boom things moved faster, but it still seemed like forever. Now I don't know where the past couple of months have gone.

Grandson had a concert today it was fun & he is so cute! He plays the violin.
All the kids 5th & 6th graders were good!

Good day for me today. Hope you all had a good day too!
Happy Mother's Day to all Mom's!! if you're not a Mom Have a great day too!!

Uggg...I've been off those damned steriods for 3 weeks now and I'm still weighing in at a solid 182 pounds. I can't blame any of it on water weight at this point. Crap...crap, crap, crap. And my plastics consult is in only 3 weeks.

Losing and gaining and having to relose...it sucks, no doubt! I've attacked it by increasing exercise, changing up what I do for exercise, and also, of course, adjusting what I'm eating. I hit my goal last Sunday but I have a feeling that I'm not there now. Therefore, I've planned to have a very scaled back, back-to-basics week of yogurt, protein shakes, and protein, protein, PROTEIN!! Oh, and WATER!!!!

Melodye - Are you around?? Good Luck Woman!!!!

Hi Everyone and Happy Mother's Day to all the moms reading. I celebrated by getting up at 5:50AM to go for an 80 minute walk! lol It had to be done and I am glad I did it! I've been eating carefully and that makes me feel better, too.

More later - I have a few things I have to do...

Emily and Savannah: Just temporary stalls. You both will get past this! Look at how far you have come.

Jesse: Congratulations!!!

This is day 2 of no caffeine or carbonated drinks. I have also started replacing some meals with protein shakes.

I really want a diet mountain dew. I know that some people still drink diet drinks but I want this and I know they are not healthy.

I do not drink coffee or tea ( unless it is tazo chia or white chocolate mocha from starbucks- so those are out). Crystal light hurts my kidneys! I think Mi0 does too. I could drink juice but I don't want the calories.

Is there anyone that just drinks water? What other choices am I missing?

Happy Mother's Day Mommas!

I drink mainly water. When I drink other things I usually opt for a Arizona Tea 1/2 tea, 1/2 lemonade. It is "light," bt still has sugar in it. I water it down with lots of ice & sometimes a splash of water. Also, Walmart has the box of concentrate so you can add it to your desired strength easily. I also will sometimes drink juices, but also very watered down (I especially like grape juice or cranberry, again, VERY watered down with lots of ice...). I do not drink soda, period. Iced tea is another option for you... And, once in a while, I do just drink some milk. I do that before bed sometimes if I am hungry, or inbetween meals if I just get really hungry. I have also been known to just mix up like 6oz. of a not very strong protein shake to drink, too. Hope that helps!

Melodye - Wishing you the very best & saying a prayer for you, too!!!!

greenbean - sorry I missed the part about your not wanting caffeine... maybe a decaf tea? I don't drink coffee anymore (I used to be hooked - but then I was also hooked on donuts, cookies, and a billion other things that were not the best choices for me...), but I still have iced tea sometimes and I don't worry about the caffeine because I know I don't have much...

I take, daily, 3 stool softeners. When I'm starting to feel really backed up I'll take a gentle stimulant laxative. Being a nurse and seeing (literally) the effect these can have on the bowel I'm VERY conservative with laxative use. But sometimes ya just gotta!

What kind of chewy vitamins did you get? (Still in nurse mode. )

Snapple makes a 1/2 n 1/2 that is sugar free and 10 calories for the bottle.

I drink mainly water. About 100 oz of it a day. I'll drink 16 oz of decaf coffee in the morning, and decaf green or white tea in the afternoons. There are lots of decaf tea options. I LOVE Chick-Fil-A Diet lemonade. I buy it by the gallon and it lasts me almost a week. I also like diet bottled teas, I may have one a day - although sometimes two. I am mainly decaf, but the amount of caffeine in these are insignificant. There's some, but not a lot. I stay completely away from carbonated beverages. Whether or not it stretches your pouch is a non-issue. I haven't even attempted it because I get HORRIBLE bloating and gas pains from the littlest things and sodas totally wouldn't be worth it.

OK, after a mini-break (had some miso soup and two peices of sashimi and some "crab salad" (like the stuff they put inside california roll out with a friend) I am starting day 11. I will do liquids and again all this week. I hope and pray I will get back into the 170s.

This is REALLY working. The two slices of sashimi and couple tablespoons of crab salad made me FULL!

Just got done catching up...so much going on

Good luck on your surgery today Melodye--a new beginning awaits

I have been super stressed with my daughters health (mainly mental) issues, and consequently all I want to do is eat. I cannot eat the volume that I want to and that makes me sad, plus I find myself mindlessly grazing as well
SOOOOOOOOOOOOO....after watching Mary's video yesterday I was inspired to start on full liquids. Today is going great, no hunger, a bit of nausea, but that is not a bad thing in my book
Thank you Mary for the inpiration

Wish I could address everyone, thanks for all the reading, this place brings me back to the reasons I had surgery in the first place, and helps me focus on what needs to be done to continue being successful--love to all

Heather my gummi vitamins are adult multi vitamin from Nature's Bounty. I don't think they are going to work tho' because I just noticed they have no iron. Not really a huge concern now because my hemeglobin is good, and I no longer have my period, but when I am eating far less I'm thinking I will need the iron supplement.

You will want sublingual or chewable iron and B12, anyway. Most likely in amounts larger than would come in the standard multi.

My thoughts going out to Melodye tonight - Hope she's doing just fine!

Heather, which chewable vitamins did you say are good? I need to get ready to get some.

Mary - I really think I will be following your lead in the next few days. I think it is time for me to go totally liquid or liquid/yogurt to re-learn/reset my restriction. I'm not doing too badly, but I know I can do better. Thanks for, once again, being such an inspiration!

mbroda - Sorry you are having a hard time right now - I know how it is, trust me! Glad to see youposting. I know it helps keep me focused. I hope things turn for you soon.

Today as part of my workout I used the elliptical machine for a little over 15 straight minutes! That thing is not easy for me, but I did it! Then I rode the bike for a while. I didn't have the time for a long workout (had to take DD to piano lessons), but I was really happy I did as much as I did and that I didn't use it as an excuse not to exercise. I will do the same kind of quick workout tomorrow I think (unless I get motivated early in the morning and walk before work....we'll see). My eating was okay, but could have been better - I get so hungry while I'm at work - it is really odd. At least I had lower-carb options available. Planning really is key for situations like that.

Hey everyone else! Make your Tuesday a great one!! Hugs!

Angel-how are you and how is your mom?

Jesse, Greenbean, Izzybeff, Savannah, and everyone else-hope things are going well and check in when ya can.

My life has been a whirlwind after some fun vacation time-I have a boyfriend who just this past Saturday took our relationship up to a new level when he told me that he loves me. I finally have a Court date in Italy for Oct 11th to wind up things there and this morning I broke through a long standing plateau of 270 pounds. I used to hit and stall at that weight even way back in 2000 but this morning my scale said 269.5 both times I got on it. I can't claim perfect or clean eating but my boyfriend and I have been doing better with eating since he is doing atkins induction/low carb with me and we have been taking walks together at a track for an hour at least once a week. I am hoping the weight loss continues because I had been stuck bouncing up and down the same 4-5 pounds for a couple of frustrating months.
