Getting Banded

Hello everyone, I am on again off again low carber for many years.
I managed to lose from 430 to 300 about 7 years ago but have been yo-yoing the same 50 lbs between 330 and 290 for years.

I am getting lap band surgery on December 15th. I am not expecting miracles, I am finally admitting I need help and this tool is being provided to me (Tri_care) covers 100% since dh is retired Airforce.

I am looking to advise, help, motivation etc.
Anyone who has had it give me an example of how many calories/protein/fat you eat a day.

Anyway I am rambling, Thanks in advance for any advice

Good luck! The best advice I can give you, after dealing with patients post banding or gastric bypass, is to follow the advice of your docs and nutritionists. Just as lc is a woe, so are these. It's behavior modification with some surgical help!!! I have every confidence you will do well!!!!! Keep us posted

I'm not trying to be a downer or second guess your decision to have a band but have you considered another type of surgery or will your insurance only pay for a band?

I wish you much success with whatever you choose.

Was banded in July and very pleased with my decision. Go to the Weight Loss Boards, you can talk to people who have had gastric bypass, bands, and sleeves - lots of good info!

My insurance only covers the band.
