What have you noticed since having WLS/losing weight...

Here's some funny things I've noticed...

1. I have discovered I actually have bones in my butt which hurt when I sit on certain chairs or in the bathtub! I am constantly moving around in chairs to try to stay comfortable! Bones! Who knew!!

2. The same people who watched me shovel cake, donuts, and cookies in my mouth for years and never had a word to say are now worried I'm getting too thin. I mean, really? Now you care?

3. I keep walking by mirrors or seeing myself as I pass by a window and needing to realize that yes, that IS me.

4. I used to be really proud that I looked maybe 5-7 years younger than I really was. Now, honestly, I'm not sure. Seems as I've deflated all those wrinkles I thought I didn't have are suddenly showing up!

5. People are asking/kinda telling me I must be about done losing weight. Thay say I'm thin. Um, no I'm not! I'm 5'9" and still way over 200 pounds. Those people are crazy! LOL

What else can you all add to this list? I know I'm missing a few. Post and let me know!!!

Yeah no matter what you do someone is always going to have something to say, best to just forget about those people and find the ones you love

This gets soooo much worse, I promise! But, you get used to it. Sometimes during yoga we have to balance on our tripod base - which is our two hip bones and our coccyx. That doesn't feel too great and the more I lost the worse it felt! But now I'm used to being bony.

No kidding!!! I was still in the obese and overweight BMIs and they were telling me I didn't need to lose more... hello? Just because you are used to seeing me super fat doesn't mean a slightly smaller me is too thin... especially since I'm still considered overweight! Now they are telling me to stop losing and are surprised when I say I've been holding around the same 5 pound range for about 6 months now. It's just a thing they say - I think everyone hears it. I ignore it.

Yup! Although, a lot of the time I look in the mirror and see super fat me, but every time I catch a reflection off guard or see a picture I am shocked. It's like... WOW... I totally got skinny. When did that happen? Since yesterday?

I think I look older too, but everyone I've mentioned it to says they think I look younger. It's probably the age equivalent to "you're getting too thin". My wrinkles aren't puffed out anymore, how can I look younger?

Crazy. With jealousy. I have a friend that had a lap band, but didn't do very well. She never made it work for her - she never mentally understood what it took to use her tool - she lost about 70 pounds and was down to about a size 10/12 and has made her way back up to a 14/16. She's one of my prime "you're getting too thin" chanters. Personally I think they tell you that you are losing too much or are getting to thin because internally they do not want you to look better than them.

You forgot two of my favorites - Are you supposed to eat that? The same people who didn't care how many donuts you ate are now scrutinizing every morsel you put in your mouth. Yes, I can eat this. It's sugar free and low fat. I made it myself. Have another donut.

And... I would lose weight too if I only ate as much as you. My response... feel free to try it. I eat about 1500 calories a day and work out like a fiend. Go for it. It's totally applicable to everyone.

I had WLS 12 years ago and it still shocks me when I buy clothes and they fit. I went to a garage sale yesterday and saw some great dress pants for work for a dollar a pair (Liz Clairborne, Jones NY etc). I hesitated to buy them so the woman told me to go in the house and try on a pair. Perfect fit, size 8 petite, I still can't grasp that after all of this time! Funny, I still would like to lose 15 lbs, that will come off someday.

Yes! So true. I still do most of my shopping at thrift stores - you can't beat the great deals - and it never fails that I think something cute and might fit me only to realize it's about 4 sizes too big when I pull it off the rack. And the stuff that still looks soooo tiny to me on the hanger is the stuff that actually fits me.

I'm still trying to get over the mental block of body image - and obviously I still have a ways to go!

I've discovered that I am even more fabulous without the fat. Was already fabulous, but now, man....WATCH OUT!! Monkee coming through *Smoke* Ha Ha.

I like feeling my bones. I molest myself all the time. I can lay there and run my fingers around the shape of the bone.

I can actually cross my legs now which is pretty amazing. Actually makes my back feel better. Go figure.

One of the things I do hate, however, is always being cold. I miss the fat that kept me self-snuggled up.

I am cold almost all the time, too, Monkee! I'll tell you what, I'll go buy us Snuggies so we can stay warm!

I also can often be found with my hand on my collarbone! I am so amazed it is there! That and my shoulder bones! lol
