The thought of having the surgery away does not bother me, I mean really, Florida or Mexico, it's not really that big of a difference to me from Montreal The Mexico prices are better, and his price includes the 2 weeks in a hotel so that's a huge plus, and it also includes the plane ticket. I joined the group on Obesityhelp that's for patients of his and I've been impressed with the surgeries, I was not aware there was an issue with his brachios though! I have the droopies at the elbows, it sucks. I love that he lets you breathe on your own during surgery, does Dr Agha do that as well? That would allow me to do all the work at once, I think I'd rather be super miserable for 2 weeks than be semi miserable two separate times

I was pretty darn miserable three different times...but it was worth it, however...
I'm not sure if I could have done all 4 procedures I had done all at once. There was a lot of pain and a lot of difficulty moving around. I'm just glad its over.

My scars from the first two procedures (done in December 2011) are starting to fade and I've pretty much settled into the body I have now. I will say, as I said in other threads I believe, that when I did gain some weight back I started to see it in the weirdest places. I just have to be vigilant, because I didn't like how that looked/felt at all. Maybe I am just very tuned-in to it or maybe I am a bit paranoid. Whatever my deal, I am very aware of what I need to do and how backsliding with my weight is just not an option. Not sure why I felt the need to add that - guess it is past my bedtime and I'm starting to ramble. Night all!

Iagree with Tamale. Once you have the surgery, backsliding isn't an option. I regained some weight and I gained it in thighs, backside, upoer arms any place where there had't been surgery. It was painful and hard to find clothes. I am very grateful to have lost it again.no more backsliding for me.

Hey I hear you....if i am paying this much $$$ for a new body, I am sure am sure you are hyper aware of maintaining it....it is like having a new Lexus and not wanting any "door dings"

I dunno... for me, the lack of physical activity and the ramp up to get back to a decent level of activity (for MONTHS) made it really rough for me to not gain and to care as much (when I am less active I am generally less happy). Of course I am vigilant, but I don't know if I am any more vigilant than before surgery since I had surgery in mind then and would only get it if I could maintain. Of course, that's just me.

Hi everyone!

Long time no post for me! Life has been soooo hectic!
Split from my common law partner end of June. 11 years and one beautiful 5 year old.

But my recovery is pretty good! I had one infected seroma on my left thigh and that was probably the worst part of the whole surgery process.

I'm wearing a size 10 jeans now!
It's sad because when I look in the mirror, I still see like a size 14... I don't know how to fix my brain into seeing reality.

I have an appointment on November 11th for touch ups on each hip. Besides that I'm pretty happy with results.

I need a breast lift or something. I have about an small b cup left and they are just skin. I don't care if they're not bigger, but I would like them to be where they are supposed to! Has anyone ever had just breast lift with no implants?

Heidi - I am leaving for out of town with no internet for a few days....I did have a breast lift with no implants, and wish now I would have had very small implants put in. I continued to lose weight after the surgery, and although they look 100% better, there is not much there! With clothes on and a great Victoria Secret bra, they look great and very proportionate(for my height/weight). Without clothes, I feel too small. Give the bra a try before making a decision.

Hey girlies, I am back on here, speaking of weight gain! I have gained 20 pounds since my TT and I am not happy about it, and indeed it goes back in strange places, my thighs are now thunder thighs, although I did get a free butt implant if you consider the butt I am now carrying! LOL

It is so tough, I still have pain from my TT, when I exercise, for me it was the lack of exercise after, I was working out like a mad woman and now with everything going o I just dont have the time and man did it creep on, so frustrated!!! My tummy is still really flat, I need some tough ups, but honestly am so sick of surgery I dont feel like getting it fixed, but my pubic area is like a lumpy ball, that is gross! My arms need it down at the ends of the incision. I am back on here posting hoping to really keep myself accountable, we are going to Vegas in Jan and I want this off of me, I cant fit in my size 12 jeans, and I am ticked!!!!

Great to see you back Amber!
Heidi, your mind will catch up with the transition in time. Someone suggested looking in the mirror and telling yourself you are beautiful every day no matter how you feel. Then size won't matter at all. I need to do that!
I belonged to a plastic surgery board for a year and I tell you most women that got the lifts without the implants were not as happy as the ones that got the implants...the PS needs something to work with. Mine told me he could use the flesh from the second half of my body lift (butt) (that I never did have done) and implant that tissue in the breasts to enhance fullness. Minimal to no risk of encapsulation with that method.

From what I read fat from other areas of the body won't stay in the bust. The rear, for some reason, does better, maintaining 80%. I did get a lift with no implants, and had what my surgeon calls a spiral flap augmentation... he takes whatever fat he can from the bra-line area, and while maintaining the blood supply to the fat, "flaps" it over into the breast area... so the fullness is more toward the outside of the breast, but it was better than nothing. I was NOT flat... I was about a C... but to be honest, I had had DD+ since like Jr. High and started developing in 4th grade and I just didn't feel like they were in proportion... so I added implants later when I had my LBL. I am a DD again.

I had a breast lift without implants. I started at a DD+ so I figured enough could be saved for a C... Well, I ended up barely a B, and I was really upset about it for a long time. However, over time, and with Victoria's Secret's help, I have learned to accept and even like them smaller. That said, if I had known going in I'd be this small I would have probably had a small implant.

Hey Bejewelme - Join that regain group! I'm fighting 15 pounds myself. I don't look bad, but I don't like it one bit. Fifteen can turn into 25 overnight in my body. Glad to see you here - let's stay accountable. My body could use some touch-ups too, but I am not currently interested. I have to get really healthy again and then I'll think about it - maybe. My hip area has a bit of a dog-eared quality and man, what I wouldn't do to get rid of some of the side fat under my arms. However, I think, "Does it ever end?" I don't want to spend the rest of my life trying to make things perfect, because they never will be. At some point I have to accept what I have and appreciate and cherish it more. Hmmm, food for thought for me.

Hey HT, what group, you will have to post the link for me!! I will join, I am so mad that I gained what I did, and you are so right it piles on so fast its frightening, like I worked my tail off for the surgery then I was such a mess after the not working out for months, it piles back on! But I am trying now so that is all I can do, I feel like you, its never going to be perfect, but dude my pubic area is so bad that does have to get fixed! Its just not a high priority!

OOHHHH who are you thinking of in MX? i met with Dr. Sauceda - really like him and he does decent work at a good price! He also will do all the work at once if you want - he had planned a 14 hour surgery for me - they can do this becasue you have an epidural + twilight sedation. There is a facebook page called Body by Sauceda. I like most of his stuff, but the arms....he does not do the "extended brachio" which takes out a chunk of armpit.

Dr. Agha is great, but super duper expensive!

I am planning on going to a post massive specialist in San Antonio - Peter Fisher - just love him! (I live in Atlanta BTW....)

Interesting conversation ladies! Mary interesting that you went back for the implant. If they had told me i would naturally end up a "C" - i would have gone for that, but post-skin excision, i would be a mid-B, so i am doing the implants, but not huge ones - like 275cc. It was weird to see them shoved up under my shirt! LOL...

I also asked about the side flap augmentation, but was I am not a candidate as i have no side boob fat left!

Yes Dr Sauceda, I sent him my naked pictures (eep!) and just got the quote back. He recommends the long thigh lift with the scar from knee to groin, lower body lift, breast lift and augmentation, and brachioplasty with scar from elbow to armpit. I also asked him about getting lipo in the neck to get rid of that fat hanging down below my chin, ugh! And also asking about getting a butt flap augmentation since from what I hear the LBL flattens out the butt.

Is Peter Fisher also super duper expensive? I got quoted less than 20k for all of the above.

I was also really surprised because I'm at 170 and have been for a few months, my body seems to like this weight. I'm still getting some definition in different parts and other parts getting more flabby so my body composition is still changing even if the weight has stopped. Anyways, the doctor told me that he wouldn't want me to lose too much more before surgery as what I have now gives him something to work with. I'm estimating that I'm 15-20 pounds above what I would have considered my goal weight. I'd love to have surgery in february but I may have to wait until april when my husband can get time off work. At least (early) April still lets me not be in the garment during the high heat of summer.

I'm planning on refinancing my house to pay for it, I don't have that amount of cash just laying around and I don't really want to wait to get it, so I'll refinance and aggressively pay it down afterwards.

Dr. Fisher's surgeon fees are great but his hospital is super expensive!! All of my "work" will be closer to 40k with hospital added in

I have nothing but great respect for Sauceda though. he is awesome and a good bit cheaper. They do the surgery with an epidural and twilight sedation. Kinda cool.

I guess about everything but face work or an upper body lift, which they can't do at the same time as the lower body anyways

I'm leaving in 7 hours for the airport! I'll have markup tomorrow night, then surgery on monday morning! The stress/fear hasn't hit me yet, I'm sure during markup it'll become "real".

WOE: VSG surgery
Start Date: November 8th 2012
So far I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I have met some wonderful people here who were having surgeries at the same time, one of them is leaving today and I'm sad because I'm sure we'll be great friends, we got along great. Surgery wise, everything has been great. Got here on sunday afternoon, had the markup on sunday evening and doc went over expectations and made sure I understood that improvement was the goal and not perfection. He showed me what he could realistically do for me and it was all great. Monday morning he picked me up at about 8am, went to the clinic, I filled out some paperwork and then it was time to go change out of my clothes and put on a robe. They put in the IV, wiped me down with betadine, then carefully laid me out on the operating table, had me turn over onto my side for the epidural, then they must have put something in my IV because that's all I remember. I do remember waking up a few times during the procedure and it was no big deal, they put me back under right away. After surgery the Dr told me that I was waking up a LOT and kept asking him the same questions haha, must have been annoyhing! Recovery room went great, wheeled me back to my room and I was allowed small sips of water. No nausea, no pain. Started antibiotics and anti nausea in my IV just in case. Next morning I got to take my shower and see my body, breasts looked huge compared to what I had before, they will settle down some Everything looked great, flat tummy, couldn't ask for more! He sewed my abdominal muscles, gave me great breasts, fixed my arms and thighs and did some lipo on the arms. Recovery has been great, I'm back at the hotel now and resting, my mom is doting on me, I sleep, rest, watch tv, type on the computer, rest more. Measure my drain outputs. Monterrey is nice, seems like an americanized Mexican city. Hoping next week i'll be up for a trip to the mall (in a wheelchair of course!) I'm here until next thursday.
