So I am finally going to get cut again, I went for my weekly draining of this darn lymph lump and he said next Tuesday he is going to try to numb me and cut me in his office, and see what this thing is, and see if he can fix it or not, good grief I am dreading that, now I will have to heal again, but 4-6" seems like nothing compared to the row of stitches I had, and I am so sick of going to the doctor every week and getting poked, so hopefully my problem will be solved!!!

Mary - I am hoping and praying everything goes well for you!! I know your circumstances aren't the best, but in a few months you will look back on all of it and belooking and feeling great!!

Bejewelme - I will be praying for you, too! I hope this will solve your problem with that. Try to stay positive!

I have my thigh surgery one month from today. Starting to feel half anxious and half excited...

I am convinced that the worst pain in the whole world is a coughing fit after tummy tuck/ lbl right before next pain pills are due. Whoever claims this isn't that bad is lying to themselves :-P

Yes I know days 2 and 3 are most sore, but immediately after they expect you to get up, use toilet, shower, etc. plus everything looks weird right now... My torso looks short and pudgy (swelling) At east when it starts looking pretty I can justify it lol

Mary- I think sneezing is the worst after TT, OMG did that hurt!!!!

I had my procedure, he had 4 interns there since he said in 22 years he never had this happen, he put me in the OR awake and numbed the area, he removed basically a grenade sized cystic sac, filled with the lymph, I am tender now but not bad, it is right where the crease of my leg is so sitting is what is bugging me it doesn't hurt at all when I am laying out. I think I will be fine, I go on Tuesday for him to check the stitches! He is hoping as well that he cauterized the duct that was producing the fluid so it doesnt come back elsewhere, ughhg. So now I cant work out again for 2 weeks, ughghghg!!!
Good luck Mary!!!! And HT, Merry Christmas thigh lift, that is exciting!!!

Wow Bejewelme! Well he cauterized it so that HAS to help! Hopefully this will fix the problem for good. Like you said way better to have this procedure then going under and opening you all back up!

Mary, glad to hear your surgery went safe and sound! Sending healing vibes your way so that you can feel good by the holidays!

Mine is lurking closer..... damn it's going quick!

OMG Mary I cried and cried and got into a funk they say it is very common, and it will pass, it is so hard those first few days and weeks, like everything takes such effort, and you think crap I felt so good before surgery now I feel like crap, but hang in there hun, it does get better, is is so hard to see an end in sight, but it comes, and by Spring you are going to be rocking bikinis and all this is going to be forgotten! Seriously it is a huge surgery so much of your body is disturbed, it takes so much to heal, the drugs mess with your head, it just takes time! Everyone is different, some people bounce back and you think what is wrong with me, but the thing is everyone is different, just take it one hour at a time! I would so be there helping you if I were closer! Talk to friends, watch happy shows, it will get better!!!!My TT recovery sucked!!!!!! But looking back I would do it all again for the same result, even this stupid thing I dealt with for 9 months, was worth it, you think OMG look at these scars mine is so faded now I dont even think about it, it all gets better! I feel so bad for you cause I know exactly where you are!

If you go back in this thread to March when I had mine, read some of that, I was going through the same stuff the girls were telling me it would get better, and I thought oh no it wont, LOL But they were right!!!

How are you doing, Mary? I was thinking, healing from plastic surgery involves a bunch of P's:
protein
pineapple
patience
pain pills
prayer!!

:P I hope you're having a really good day.

I've been told pineapple has an enzyme - or something - that aids in healing.

bromeliene in pineapple aids healing.
Bromelain is a mixture of proteolytic enzymes -- digestive proteins -- that are located in the center of pineapples. The University of Maryland Medical Center indicates that the pineapple has been used for years in Central and South America for the treatment of indigestion and inflammation. This enzyme was first isolated from the pineapple in the late 1800s and has multiple uses in the treatment of medical conditions. Bromelain can be used to treat pain following surgery or injury, wounds, burns, indigestion, sinusitis and arthritis. Available in capsule, tablet or topical form, bromelain should be used only with your doctor's permission.

I would love to see!

Sorry to hear you've been going through a tough time. I can't relate yet, so I can only offer sympathies! lol

I did not know about the pineapple either! Will be on the grocery list! haha

I won't have a definite date until I go see her on January 29th, but she's shooting for third to fourth week of February. I work at a school, so I can incorporate our March Break (like Spring Break in the states I guess?) with my sick leave.
